Love your Julia sweater. I made this and I found the button placket a bit of a mind boggle…total agree on the instructions take a few reads. Loving your daughter’s jumper super cute wish I was sewing when my daughter was younger.. X
That is a cute outfit on your dress form! I wish I can get more accomplished at sewing socials, but I'm so busy butterflying🦋🦋🦋 around the room!😅😅😅 Your daughter's top is beautiful and you did do a great job with the pattern matching.❤
Great makes Kate your Saturday set is beautiful (I love Kaffe Fasset fabrics I think it’s the colors) I was never sold by Pogo Nip it’s too wide around the neck for my likings,Julia sweater seems to a bit smaller, omg your daughters Jarrah is adorable as is the wearer ❤
Love seeing your Saturday set in cotton sateen. I’ve made two sets in linen look viscose and viscose (black and bright pink respectively) and I absolutely love them. I wear my top wrapped around and tied at the front (I made the ties longer on my black version) and usually have a vest top or roll neck under them as I can show that much skin round my middle! I’ve got some polysatin fabric from the Rag Market that I fancy turning into the skirt to get the look of those silky satin slip skirts that would just hug the bits I want to hide in a bias cut version.
I made the Julia sweater too and love the style. I used a cuddle fleece fabric which made quite a tricky sew especially with the thick seams. I sized up by 2 sizes in it as I should be a 10 but made the 14. It’s cropped on me as I’m 5’8” but the sleeves are a good length - probably due to the sizing u. Agree the instructions did take a couple of read through to fully understand them. Love your fabric!
Love your videos Kate. I've also tried Atelier Jupe patterns and found them a bit of a head scratcher. I think they are worth persisting with as their designs are great and the outcome when it arrives is definitely worth it
What great makes Julia👌 I am not in the market for a belly showing top but do love that set especially your fabric. I was watching Sewn On the Tyne the other day and she had that gorgeous green print and fell in love, your wee daughter just looks super happy in hers 😻 Best of all is you new top which I have the pattern and lots of fabric to make a few but need a great machine to set the snaps!! Was very disappointed at the lack of accessories you get with something at that price 🙈 anyway we will keep an eye out for offers. See you soon either way more beautiful makes xx
I love the set!! I would love to see it with the “Itch to Stitch” “Hepburn” turtleneck underneath for fall! I think that would look stunning-you could also make your turtleneck sleeveless or short sleeved!! ❤ Your daughter looks adorable and it looks great on her! Also, I love your “Atilier Jupe “pull over. It looks really nice. ❤
Loving all your makes and your daughter is a catwalk star!!😍. As for Atelier Jupe- I haven’t made the Julia but have made quite a few of their patterns and agree 100% that their instructions are “vague in places” which is annoying. I just finished the Coco skirt and the waistband instructions drove me crazy😮😮. Got there in the end. Really love the Julia but now not sure I can face it especially as I have never done snaps. Anyway, thank you for sharing. Happy Sewing. 😊 Lynne
Great vid, beautiful makes, especially the SSS ❤️ The Vario tool is absolutely brilliant, I guess that’s why it was cheaper with no accessories, although I believe any fixings by prim fit so if you have the old type sets which you use with a hammer I think they are supposed to fit 🤷♀️🤞🤞🤞
Hi Kate, I totally agree with you about the collar/placket on the Julia. I was using my main fabric for the placket too and ended up with an intersection so thick that my machine couldn't cope. Fortunately it was just a usable toile, so instead of the collar seam being folded under, I did rainbow overlocking to reduce the thickness. That won't do for a good one though, so I am considering what to do next... I am also slightly taller than you and need to work out how to lengthen the body with all those pieces.
