The richer the soil the bigger they grow … add cow manure or chicken manure to the dirt till it up real good may stink but you’ll get good potatoes out of it, also get a small finger rake from your hardware store they’re pretty cheap makes digging up the potatoes a lot easier. Good luck with your next harvest! I grew up on a farm where our harvest fed us all year round.

Thank you! I buy composted mulch that is broken down and I mix about half manure. I will try adding more of the manure as you recommended next go around. I was hoping for the all-year-round...🤣 Thank you so much for the tip. I really appreciate it.
