  • Tondo Manila, Philippines 🇵🇭 - "Happyland" named after hapilan, which translates to "smelly garbage" was today's destination. After multiple locals told me not to go in over the past months, I was getting a bit uncomfortable while entering it, but that changed very quickly as we got so warmly welcomed by all (except for one) people living there.

Hats off to you for eating “pag pag” and for being brave exploring around Tondo. To tell you, in the Philippines people who are needy are the most kind and honest people but still take care of yourself and be aware of your surroundings.

Heyo Sam. I don't know what to say because I have a lot on my mind after this video. If there were more people with a character like yours, the world would be a better place. The way you treated everyone was amazing. It seems like people in Happyland are happier than most people in our hometown. And yeah, huge respect for trying Pagpag.

You’ve been to the slum area of Tondo, where they have the “Smokey mountain” or mountain of garbage there. It’s true that Manila is not all the beautiful places around at Roxas Blvd, Pasay, and the new city of BGC. It’s been there way back before all the developments in Manila and most of the people there are squatters who built their houses just to survive in Manila coming from provinces where there are no jobs and find a fortune in Manila for a living. Thanks for sharing a little bit of money that makes them happy.

Hallo Sam! 💯👍😃

kapoy = tired. the kid said he's tired already. while the long hair old drunk guy is asking for money for drink. he said "tagay" meaning shot or drink like a shot of tequila. in early part of the video you had shots (tagay) with the locals. a mistake telling that guy that you gave money... in that area... smh. and when you were about to leave, by turning your back at him while he was not yet done talking to you, he felt disrespected. he said "sandali (wait/hold on), ayoko (short for "ayaw (don't like) ko (i)" meaning "i don't like) ng bastos (disrepectful/ being disrespected). majority are nice people, but definitely there are those who aren't.

Thanks for breaking it down. He was the first to be disrespectful, that's why I left.

I hope every vloggers who features Tondo and Pagpag on their videos will do their part to help other people long-term, do charitable work whether be it in the Philippines or in other less developed countries.
Otherwise, these vlogs are meaningless . It will just be another RUclips video meant to gain income by using these people for content ro add up to views, likes and subscriptions.. Just saying.

Oh definitely, I love to help and give forward as much as my budget allows to. So views, likes and subs are off course gaining income, but so far it's only scratching the surface of what I'm spending to be transparent. This video actually cost me more than it earned 😄
If I earn and can give forward, it's a win for everyone 😊

By your country you talking about the tourist places or all of the Philippines? You were saying in previous comments to give more acknowledgement to the people and interact with locals. Seems like I misunderstood you 🤷‍♂️😄
