Hello! Wow! That is one extraordinary turnip! King of the Turnips !!! Awesome lemon and pear haul ! YAY!!!!! Nice produce haul all around. And nice score on the Burt's Bee face products ! Super YAY!
@@MamaToAll funny enough apparently the food pantry here apparently gave out cabbage. My neighbor received an abundance and when I took him over freezer meals before the freeze he asked if I would like two!
You are so kind and thoughtful of you sharing your food pantry haul with others. You received a lot of good food. Hope everything is going well for you and family.
Thank you, It is a blessing to be able to share the abundance with others. I love being able to help out anyone that may be in need and honestly right now I think everyone can use a little help with groceries. the prices in the stores are outrageous. My family is doing good and so far the rekindled relationship with my mother has been a blessing.
Thank you, I honestly didn't even realize they were Bosc pears.... I even looked at the sticker and didn't even catch that. thank you. I am going to try them now before they get soft.
@MamaToAll don't feel rushed. It'll take a while for them to get soft. Put the majority in the fridge and just keep 2 on the counter for a few days. They will ripen a little bit and get sweeter, but will still be very firm to the touch. If they are still under ripe they will not have as much flavor.
Remind people that if there weren't places, churches, etc to take this surplus food and redistribute it, the food would be trashed! Think of all that great stuff being thrown away. Enjoy those hamburger steaks! Making me hungry!
Thank you, I will have to remind them of that. That is a wonderful reminder as you are 100% correct, many lbs of food would be trashed if not taken by the churches and pantries to redistribute to others. The hamburger steaks were delish!!!
Bartlett are green not brown. Those are basc pears. And not true what you said about them. They are meant to be eaten when they are hard so they can be crunchy and sweet.Otherwise if you let them sit too long they get soft and mealy. They are meant to be crunchy like a crisp apple.
@@marykoufalis7666 thank you, I am not sure when it comes to pears. The sticker even said Bosc … on them. I didn’t even know that was a type of pear, thank you 😊
I will be honest, I have never had baked pears so that is something I may do as a dessert this week when it's my turn to cook in the kitchen. Thank you!!!!
@@sunflower6372 I’ll explain!!!! Because it’s what she wanted to cook and I have raised my girls to have no restrictions when it comes to food. There are no rules as to what you can and can’t serve together as well as there is no proper breakfast foods…. Meaning…. If you want spaghetti for breakfast then that’s what you can have.
I dont think people CAN spend that kind of money on meat and may be why it was donated. We just received a 3 pound pack of hamburger from our local food pantry and the price was over 18.00 What the heck?!
I agree, It's crazy the prices that I see on these meats that have been donated and I agree, most people aren't able to spend that kind of money of a piece of meat. As you stated, even hamburger has went up in cost and it's just outrageous.

Wonderful haul. The Burt’s Bees face cream is really nice and quite pricey. God bless 🙏🏼❤️
Thank you, I have never tried it and I know the other burts bee's stuff is really good. I was very blessed to receive it.
Great haul 😊you got good stuff you are so sweet to share with other families 🩷have a wonderful day
Thank you, i love being able to help others in some way, even if it means sharing the blessings from the pantry.
Even though the pears are firm, they might already be ripe. Cut one n see.
Great haul ❤
I have had others tell me that these are meant to be on the firmer side so I will go ahead and cut into one and try it. Thank you
Those are Bosc pears, my absolute favorite. They don't get really soft but are delicious when still a little firm. Enjoy and thanks for the video.
Thank you, now I know, I will have to try one and enjoy them.
I love watching your videos because you have such a positive attitude!

I am jealous of your cabbage. I tried 2 different grocery stores and couldn’t get cabbage this week.
If you were close enough I would share with you!!! I have plenty to share.

@MamaToAll I'm a home bound senior the food bank brings me groceries monthly
Great haul. You can make lemon curd and the pears you can preserve. Have a nice week, Birgitta🥰
Thank you, that is a great idea, i can make lemon curd. I too can preserve the pears.
Awesome haul and the popsicles are delicious
Thank you, the family is so happy to get the popsicles and I had one last night and you are right, they are delicious.
I can the pears when still hard, they soften and hold up well. The sticker said bosc on the bottom.
That is a great idea, I can can them up. I soooo didn't even realize that Bosc was the name of the pear.... oh my silly me.
When I was a kid growing up in Iowa, McIntosh apples were my favorite! I can’t find them in Texas though. 😢
Oh man.... If you were closer I would share them with you!!!
Hey Amber
Hello!!! How are you?
Everything will be better real soon ❤
Thank you.
Looks like Bosc pears
That is exactly what they were and i will say, they are delish.
I find the Bosc pears to be crisper then Barlett so they wont get super soft.
They do eventually get super soft if left out for too long and then end up tasting mealy.
Thank you, I honestly didn't even realize they were Bosc pears.... I even looked at the sticker and didn't even catch that. thank you. I am going to try them now before they get soft.

You can mix the pears with apples and make applesauce!

Somebody explain to me why people serve corn and mashed potatoes together does not make sense because that's two starches
