This was another sad dead victim scene where the victim clearly didnt deserve it hell none of them did but its like what Somerset said "John Doe had the upper hand"
I don’t know if that’s pride, vanity or lack of self worth. That was a poor example of pride. The only way it does make sense is shame. Shame is the anthesis of pride. She preferred to die rather than feel shame. So yeah-I guess it’s pride. But it’s not a good example of pride because the shame isn’t a result of her own prideful behaviors. They could have used something that would have resulted in shame due to the actions of the behaviors of a prideful individual.
@@carolovesteven good point, maybe he gave her a choice…live ugly, die beautiful. Not fair, not just, but who knows if he was following her prior to making the decision. This movie should’ve had more sequels than big momma’s house. So many empty storylines.
There’s actually a tie-in comic book that gave more background to John Doe and why he chose his victims. In the case of the pride victim, she was extremely narcissistic, treated her employees like shit, and neglected her daughter. She was very prideful in her status as a model and to have that taken away from her from a psychopath was too much for her to handle.

Wrong. John Doe turned the sin against the sinner. We turn a blind eye to it everyday because it's trivial.
Not gonna make a huge argument here, but sloth was a herion selling pedo , his fate in prison would be shorter but lead to the same outcome .
This one was really mean.
Social media. Pure Pride.

What was the pride?
She was too prideful to live with her disfigurement.
She could’ve lived disfigured the rest of her life or die being beautiful. That was the message he tried to convey. So she chose to die, supposedly.
