If you missed last weeks video: • I GOT A CRAZY EXHUAST ...
In between Maserati content, I thought I would post this review of the L405 Range Rover SVA!
Before the video : oh no, a Range Rover, I hate those ticking moneypit timebombs
After video : I want one! 😅
Man you got some talents 😜
Brilliant video Joel, your presentation skills really are exceptional and have improved significantly since your earlier videos. Well done 👏👏👏👏
Much appreciated!
like all car reviewers your too tall Joel!! My lovely wife is 4'10 and pretty sure sat back their would have been more than enough space! Great review buddy
The real power comes in when you drive about 30km/h in deep sand pulling an off road caravan. With the 4.2 supercharged I have the torque is all over the spectrum.
Great video! I recently considered buying an L405; they look better than ever and present astounding value for money. However, the lack of proper buttons and switches in favour of unnecessary screens really put me off. You know what I’ve gone for and I’m hoping it’ll have just the right amount of tech, without any of the novelty stuff!
Earlier L405s are probably the sweetspot. Excited to hear how you get on with your recent purchase!
Joel, I fully agree with you. Diesel (preferably the v8) is the right choice. Such a shame that the road tax on diesel vehicles is crazy expensive here in the Netherlands. Road tax for a 2019 v8 diesel RR is around 3900 (euro) per year!
Joel, usually I criticise these types of videos but I actually think this particular one was very well executed. Hope you are doing okay with the Maserati and have spoken to “bawbag” about getting the rattle sorted
Thanks so much
I much prefer this version over the new one. To me, the new one is ‘too smooth’. Love the rear on the L405, the proper door handles and actual knobs and dials inside. The newest RRs have everything on screen now, it’s almost as spartan as a Tesla.
Agree the latest iteration of the l460 without the buttons is a bit silly.
The new one is like a bar of soap. However, the price hike to 200k is simply to compete with the G class and used Cul. It is not matched by any material improvement. This 200k car will be 10-15k one day sadly.
I’m glad that you mentioned the lag in acceleration of the petrol v8 sc engines because i thought it was just my car.
Love that expression “the nickable ones”
God For a minute I thought you was Jeremy Clarkson 🤣🤣
Enjoyed this as it mirrored a lot of my own thoughts and experiences of these cars. I prefer the pre-facelift which uses proper buttons still and our fleet cars had the deployable steps. They were a pain in the backside though because you could smack them on a high kerb, and without fail one or both would fail to retract at some point. One of ours was stolen in London and turned up a year later in Mombasa. The 322 is the sweet spot for me though.
I did get anxiety about the deployables opening into stuff!
Great video Joel, I did not realise how loaded with options they are - mmmm would make a great daily!
For toys per pound it’s probably one of the best!
As always a great vid and review 🎉😊
Thanks as always for watching!
Great review but this model is so far away from what a Range Rover should be it’s ridiculous. Can’t see this been thrown around off road
It’s cool and all I just still prefer my 09 4.2 SC Euro spec I imported into the states from Canada. The simplicity and classic lines just always sell the L322 to me. Along with the fact it’s become a classic instead of being a disposable tech heavy lux mall crawler. If anything I think I’d just get the latest gen full size once it drops in value. I feel they are going to age better. My 2 cents.
Recommend for stress! Mine gave me stress! Had to sell it in the end😂 my mental health improved after that😊
Had one for a month on a production. Used on many different kinds of roads. Excelled at cruising down the freeway, and precious little else.
27:23 the thing is you can get a sva with the 4.4 and like you say it’s still way faster than you expect and realistically ever need but you get nearly double the fuel economy, it’s a not brainer really unless you’re desperate for that supercharger whine
This is too much like a Bentley... I'll stick to my L494.
Wing mirrors are mounted on the front wings, as these are mounted on the doors they are known as door mirrors.
Very interesting Joel
Big luxury cars like this don't need big power but enough to make the driving effortless
I agree
sweet video Joel, well done
I own a sv as in golf sv haha
Did the insurance costs slightly go back down?
They are settling down a little bit. It very strongly depends on where you live. Outside of London and other major population centres, they're not horrendous to insure!
The interior is just vulgar. The older models had so much more class with wood and piped leather.
You can have these with wood if you prefer!
High Peak autos said it’s the best four wheel drive vehicle in the world if this is the case way do you not see them in outback Australia ?
Seen plenty of vx commodore's and ford rangers in the outback, they were there but they definately arent the best car in the world.
Sort of other ends your argument here.
The range rovers are definately the best car in the world if you enjoy driving nice cars on the daily.
What's the mpg on your Cayenne??
About the same 22/23 ish.
@@itsjoel really?!? Doesn't that render your point about the SV Autobiography's engine being unnecessary on the back of its fuel economy a bit mute? 👀
@@UMNRZ not at all, there isn’t an attractive and supremely economical engine alternative for the cayenne unlike on this Range Rover where there is.
@@itsjoel fair fair. They did a diesel one from 2007 but it was a facelift
@@UMNRZ and it was slow and not all that much more economical
Bloody hell how many people are doing videos on Range Rovers now getting boring. With every road being 50mph what is the point of 560 bhp
The wasted power is one thing but the mpg is the bit that puts me off the big petrol engine. Imagine the mpg if used for towing 😮
I did an aygo x video by comparison
Been doing them for years, and I still find them very interesting
Check out my Maserati content 😃
I mean you not forced to watch them 🤷♂️
You can just skip, the beauty of RUclips
I have a 2012 RR L322 HSE Lux (U.S.). The Lux gives air con seats and some nicer trim. Bought it about 5 years ago with 40k miles. Now has 115k and its been very solid. Only items I've had to replace were the front air shocks, blower motor fan (long weekend job) and the water pump. Otherwise its been solid. We just picked up a BEAUTIFUL certified 2020 RR SV Autobiography Dynamic in a stunning optional blue with the same black/brown interior as in this video. It only has 22k miles. We added another year of warranty from Land Rover (2 yrs now). Price was reasonable with the condition - about $80k. Couldn't be happier with the new truck. My wife will use the 2020 as her daily and I'l stay with the 2012 (love the center stack). Here in the US diesel really isn't an option. Fuel is cheap (compared to Europe) and its just the "cost of doing business". My modified Rx-7 got about 8-12 mpg and my RV was lucky if it got 6 so 20 is HUGE :). As for the engine, I always want the most powerful one in the range if possible. I'd rather have it and not need it most times then need (want?) it and not have it.
Not really a fan of the newest iteration. Too spartan for me. I like knobs and switches. In a year or two, when its time for my next car, I'm considering finding a RR Sport SVR.
We've had a few Land Rovers - older Discos - and while some have been unreliable, its hard to give up the brand. From experience with Land Rovers, finding one near the end of the model run tends to be the way to go. I'd NEVER buy a model in the first couple of years of production. Land Rover always seems to take a few years to work out the kinks. 75+ vehicles later, I'm running out of things that interest me other than older cars (60's American Muscle or 80s Japanese sports cars). I can't see the supercars being worth the pain of ownership. German cars are boring and the styling leaves a LOT to be desired for me. Not into the newer American or Japanese cars/trucks. Just returned my 2021 F150 and while it was useful for its purpose, I'm not a "truck guy". So I guess I'm stuck with JLR :)
These ‘brutally honest’ videos are anything but brutally honest
Only 69k and the white on the mirrors switch’s already worn out, for 200k, no way, I’ll stick to Volvo.
Here's what's brutally honest; it's another boring SUV that 95% of car enthusiasts don't care about.
Here’s an idea. Don’t watch it then.
@@nimedave I didn't
But you still took the time to comment 😂
@@PointNemo9trust me you’ll use far less energy by ignoring the video all together
