I started playing for honor maybe a week ago, and immediately fell in love with lawbringer. I know hes not that great, but ive been getting a lot better with him and it feels great and hes just a lot of fun. My advice, from a very new player, would be to find a character that just looks neat and has a playstyle you love and use them to learn in the beginning. Ive learned a lot about the game because i stuck with one character that i vibed with for a while. Im now rep 3 with lawbringer and i am gunna grind him out more because that one full white outfit you shared in this video looked so great and i want it. Thanks for your advice!

I'm not an amazing player myself, i'm sitting around 500 hours atm, and as someone still in relatively lower mmr games, my biggest piece of advice for people in the same type of queue's as me is to learn to adapt. When you're in lower mmr many players will have incredibly easy pattern to pick up on, whether it's what direction the shaman likes to soft feint her zone from, or someone who just decides to dodge attack every time they see a red indicator, having patience is incredibly important to playing this game. Many people, especially when picking up a new hero, are incredibly focused on what to do themselves and aren't paying attention to enemy habits that can lead to easy damage. As you go further in, there will be less players like this, but you'll never get to those players if you can't beat the spammers. Take this with a grain of salt though, this is all coming from someone who can't beat a light spamming nobushi to save his life. Also great video Sol, keep it up man.

I feel so understood and validated lol! I too struggle with light spammers or overly aggressive players, swing to win tactics, its frustrating and brain dead and does not make it enjoyable. I like mix ups and confusing my opponents, trying plan A or B against them, goading an attack out of them but I leverage stamina maintenance and don't fucking blitz them with a flurry of attacks. It feels a bit unbalanced in that the game rewards such aggressive play styles, I literally cannot get a single swing out from my Raider because I get interrupted by someone faster, which is fine, but not when they fucking light spam me

Totally agree, the honorable matches, intense, friendly and competitive. no overly aggressive brain dead light spamming just reading and adapting to each other and doing the respectful bow and "good fight!' after a win or loss. 1000 hour player here.
A very important piece of advice that unironically helped me is: *Don't take this game too seriously*
Really. It's not that important, take the game as it is, a game. Try to find joy in your play, since that's why you play the game.
Don't take everything too personal, if you had a bad match, you're free to leave and get into a new one.
Use your time playing this game as something positive, rather than something negative, just sit back, relax a bit and play the game.
This actually raised my K/D ratio by a lot. So, yeah, don't be too tough on yourself, buddy, enjoy the game.

I love the fact that this is the only game I know where people have tips on how to stay positive. I have over 1000 hours in the game and almost everytime I play I hate myself for playing it. But every night I get on with a buddy and hate myself all over again. Something about the pain makes it fun, especially with a friend.

Play the objective in the objective modes. Call for help if multiple enemies are approaching your point or a character you struggle against is apptoaching your point.
If you join a game halfway though, figure out where youd help gain points fastest to unlock your feats. If the enemy owns all 3 points, hit ~1/3-1/2 of the minions in the mid then claim empty points. For example, youd go from spawn to B and throw 2-3 attacks, capture the empty A, help the fight on C, adapt as the match develops.

      @anthonymacconnell8817 8 дней назад

Block the enemy from your point, fight on the edge or in front of your point to benefit from the healing and continuing to gain points.
Fight them on their points, points dont feed the score while they're contested.

i think one thing thats really helped me is just understanding that youre playing a game at the end of the day. its not a job (for most people at least) and its not a competition for money. So why take it so seriously? You should mess around, play whatever character you wanna play and play them however you want to because its a game and games are supposed to be fun. I know its difficult to have fun in this god forsaken game that has "honor" in its name for some reason but still. Hope everyone who reads this has a wonderful day

I look at 4069 hours into this game and wonder what that time into piano or guitar would look like.
Most ive ever put into a game is about 1800-2000 (Destiny) hell I wish I had that time back into piano or guitar myself but 4069 😮.
Crazy how time flies! i used to love this game ❤

The one thing that frustrates me. I’ll bait someone to throw a heavy and go for a gb. Somehow everyone can heavy feint to gb counter so quick or the attack goes through the gb. When I try to heavy feint gb counter it doesn’t work. It’s so inconsistent.

what I hate so much is characters like Jormungandr if I miss my gut punch to do the jotuun slam for a shield, it's so punishable and they get a free guard break on me, no matter if I KNOW they are going to go for it, countering doesn't work it's like its disabled temporarily and its super annoying

I played the game like 3-4 years ago.
Not super consistently, but with the lads. Sure we were competitive, but we didn't play longer than a month.
Recently i literally woke up one day and was like "I NEEED ITTT"
    And havent stopped since.
The battlefield.... It calls to me.
Im literally never dropping the game lmfao - i really love it and am already a really good player.
Still want to and must get better.
Best tip i can give you:
Seriously focus more on your own gameplay if you play objectives.
And most importantly - especially important.
CHILL OUT - get a little mad and invested, but not too much. Just focus
Also in even 10% the playtime im 200% agreeing with everything said.
Shit even finally got full explanations for things that i had slight speculations on.
Also if you don't have friends. Seriously use bots
It works and helps. Sadly im a solo player mostly
Also 12:20 minion should be a hero because "Complete 6 matches with a hero of any faction" challenge makes it sound like theres an option to play the game.... Without a hero? Of a faction at least

Tbh I think it can be pretty exciting when both sides are able to get revenge, I’ve had so many moments where I’d rather give the opponent revenge simply because my teammate or myself will be too worried about feeding and the stalls get boring for both sides. Many times I’ve had a duo try to gank me and they just babysit each other, I’m left poking at one before they get impatient and try to gank again. I’ve had times where I literally can’t even parry or dodge a gank because it’s all guaranteed with almost 0 revenge feed. I believe revenge definitely needs to looked at by the devs and find a way to make their game feel more rewarding when someone finds themselves being ganked without a teammate. If you’re alone within a certain range in a gank it should be either 1.5x revenge or double. When there’s a team fight it stays the same as always.

Call me crazy when I say I’d rather give revenge in order to make the fight more exciting, but sometimes it’s fun to be a troll. I love to just stand there and see someone’s pressure when they have revenge lol. People get so frantic it’s adorable
