The amount of attacker games I’ve lost because my monkey brain teammate just pushed the Ram to the gate with no points captured yet so they could just kill it with the cauldron haunts my dreams
In the first quarter the ramparts are overrated. Pikemen do more damage than 3 archers and that’s with out feats. Stall the ramparts but also(assuming you can gank) stall the health point but don’t over commit. Easy kills and rampart takes so much more damage. I’m not saying sit on health but your team should be aware of where every enemy is and what their health is and cut them off when trying to heal. Each of the 3 quarters of breach have a different approach.
dont push ramparts in first section. just push ram. think for yourselves people. do the math. the archers dont shoot the ram, just the pikemen. you don’t need pikemen when you push the ram such a short distance. it depends on how good defenders are - if they kick your butt on ramparts, leave and push ram especially. 2nd phase, yes, push the ramparts
Also I would mention officers are enabled in breach. They can be used as a healthpack via execution for both teams. They can be used to gank/stall depending on the situation and they do not feed revenge if its just you and the officer ganking someone. If your team's officer is low health, kill them so he respawns with full health. This way the enemy cant get a free heal and quick officer kill. Those officers can clutch games sometimes trust me
Another tip for guardian is that if he has revenge, he will generally only pop it when the one he is locked on to attacks him. So if 4 are fighting him, if whoever he is locked on to is not attacking he won't pop revenge as often or at all.
Question, does this go for player bots as well? I’ve noticed that the player bots sometimes wont pop revenge and other times they will. I assumed it had something to do with the bot level but I could never figure it out. This however could make sense if it is true.
@@joefrench9316 Level 1 bots will never pop revenge, level 2 bots will pop revenge as soon as they get it, level 3 bots will pop revenge when an attack is thrown
Some advice for the pikemen: Boosters like Inspire and battlecry make minions go faster and attack faster. Use them feats when you urgently need a wave. For attackers it's a good strategy to go to the spawning exit of the minions because they come out in a crowd. It makes it easier to clear them off, especially with long range heavies like raider. Defenders can do it too, but it's more risky given that it's next to the attackers spawn. When clearing minions, always lock the combat mode(I mean holding L2). This way you can block the pikemens attack. Characters like shugoki and shaman can heal of a bit from pikemen(apply bleed to the pikemen first of course). While clearing minions you can also take advantage of the dodge cancels of heroes like orochi or pirate. Heroes with superior light properties can also block pikemens attacks and deal them damage (you can also use them while you're fighting around minions. You basically get free damage). Projectiles CAN be blocked by minions, but it rarely happens. Ps: with shugo you heal with its hug
Please spread the message how important archer points are. Too many rounds in breach are spiralling into unwinnable snowballs because someone decided to go solo ram push right at the start making their team lose the 3v4 with an even more exposed ram.
why don’t you give it a try? just push the ram first phase. you’ll see the ram stays healthier which is the whole point. 2nd phase, i agree, get the ramparts. third phase - again, forget ramparts. no scenario there where it’s worth it. you don’t need pikemen distracting commander if your team “FOCUSES on COMMANDER”. everyone forgets the point - ram and commander. ramparts are just one strategy. dont be so arrogant fixated on your breach “dogma”

All this while your pikemen just die over and over and even If you win all your fights you won't push as fast because you need both pikemen and a player to boost the ram at max speed. Or you could rush archer points at the start of the game, be first on them as attacker, like in all map cases other than the knigh map, and fight your first team fight with 3 pikemen and an officer by your side.
@@Wespa64 I have about 75% win rate in Breach (yeah I quit rarely if my team is dumb - let's say it's 73%). Mostly from defenses. and mostly from attacking the ram. If the attackers want to push ramparts, I'm like GOOD. By the time they get through, the ram is already heavily damaged. The ideal scenario is maybe 2-3 defenders slowing down ramparts in 2nd phase, and 1-2 defenders on ram. But in first phase, all defenders should be on ram. 3rd phase, the ramparts are a trap. Now, of course if you can breeze through ramparts as attackers, sure, do it. But that rarely happens. If you're better players than the other team, just do whatever you want. My advice is for a default mindset assuming the other team has a high chance of winning team fights. Then, how do you maximize your chances of winning? By focusing on the GOALS. What is the goal? Ram/commander damage/defense. What are not the goals, but merely strategies to achieve goals? Ramparts, guardian, banners, etc. My logic is airtight. I'm just saying destroy the ram or defend the ram - not fight the enemy team at ramparts all day. When the ram is nearing the gate, someone needs to immedietaly get up to the cauldron and spam it as frequently as possible to deal as much damage as they can, the less hp the ram has when it reaches the commander, the less respawn the enemy team has. Seriously the most obvious and likely most effective strategy to breach is As an attacker, push ramparts and get the shield banner once it spawns. Once the ram is docked, spam the cauldron as much as you can while the rest of the team go down to clear minions and slow down the ram or halt it. In both team, there are two roles considering your skill level, The hunter and the supporter. As a hunter, you should be very confident in your combat skills, your job is to run around hunting down enemies to fight and preferably end up in Anti-Gank situations so you can buy time for your team to complete their objective. As a supporter, focus on the objective and try to gain leverage on the enemy. After the first gate, only attack the guardian with your whole team after most enemy heroes are wiped out. At the final battle with the commander, as an defender, stay together as much as possible and try to hunt down the enemy team (don’t feed revenge ffs). As an attacker, bully the enemy team with the ballista, seriously, it’s so fucking OP against the commander, it’s the cauldron equivalent for the attacker team. Just a bit curious about what feats are best for defending the commander. You have really good advice and break down for attacking the ram and commander. But I would like to know what feats/characters are better at ensuring the commander stays alive longer.
There really aren't many good feats for defending the commander other than the usual suspects that kill the opponents quickly such as fireflask and whatnot. Your best bet when it comes to actual defensive feats are ones that shield, as negating damage is easier than healing the commander. Healing banner could work but it is so easy for the attackers to bait the commander away from a healing banner that it generally doesn't work too well.
Believe it or not arrow storm does more damage to the ram than spear storm because the sheer amount of extra Aoe circles it makes in comparison. It's actually the only time I can think of that arrow storm is better than spear storm besides clearing the minion lane in dom, but for obvious reasons that's a waste of a tier 4.
Thank you! Yeah that is certainly the main factor, but a lot of people seem to think "lose the ramparts lose the game" when there is more to it than that.
I find the mechanics of this game especially difficult to grasp : ) ... for example in Breach I riddle how (or if) to use those orange heal icons sometimes displayed by fallen enemies. You are running over one in 7:44. ... do those even have a meaning for me? I found no way to use them.
@@iamphilamonjaro I see, makes sense : ) ... to think I was lingering around to wait for some healing effect to take place. I got no answer on the subject in game chat; seems to me - so far - game chat (text and voice) are not that popular in For Honor. Although TALKING to each other should improve performance in a match massively ...
I don't believe it has any effect on damage to the ram, but if it does it is not noticeable at all. However, it does affect damage done to attackers standing in the aoe!
Hard to say. Sometimes it can be a good idea to focus the ram instead of the ramparts. At the start of the game however, ramparts need to be priority. They could just be trolling, or just haven't really played the mode. Who knows?
1st banner spawns at the 27 minute mark, once placed either at the ram or cauldron area if the gate hasn't been broken through it will spawn again 3 minutes from when it was placed. Similar in the second phase whenever the gate was broken through its 3 minutes from that time. Ex: if you broke through at 20 minutes it will spawn at 17
You mean if the ram is at full health and still has the banner shield when they get to the commander? If so then no, the max lives attackers can have is 22.
@@iamphilamonjaro Okay but I want to know whether the shield will contribute to the amount of lives given at all, not necessarily only if its at max health
On paper it sounds like defenders would have the advantage, as they start with all the ramparts capped and as long as they can stay alive on them, they can't lose them. However due to poor map design, attackers often spawn far closer to the ramparts than defenders, putting the defending side on the back foot right out of the gate. All it takes is for the attackers to keep the momentum that they are given from the get go.
I wish there was a gamemode which featured more ai. Something like breach with more objectives, officers, contingents of minions. Some real like Battlefront Galactic Conquest shit
@@iamphilamonjaro nah it could definitely be done. Idk how but i know it can For example, a kind of tug of war gamemode where the focus is on the AI pushing and capturing objectives. The AI could be strengthed either by capturing strategic points/spawners and maybe there could be a system where points can be earned to spawn bigger units. The players could roam free but the main focus would be on capturing those points as trying to whittle down infinitely spawning officers would be less beneficial, but still reccomended like the Ram/Rampart dynamic in breach
The first step is making sure no one leaves after the first fight
Make sure no one rage quits in the first minute of breach: impossible challenge

I still can't believe how many people dint know what they're doing at all in breach considering how long it's been out. It's actually the reason I made this video lol
@@iamphilamonjaro it's wild hey? I'm by no means good at the game, but I at the very least know how to prioritize objectives. Lmao
I've been teamed up with Rep 100+ people who avoid the Ramparts like they owe it money.
i didn't know some of this stuff tnx
No problem!
Some new maps for how long the gam been out would be cool
great video bro
Thanks man!
Very helpful thanks
Happy to help!
#PushDaRamparts
Maybe you should try it sometime 💀
This season is so cool 😎 I love it 😍
Happy you like it!
thank God this video is as long as my matchmaking ban
Ah yes the ramparts on Kazan Castle as a defender...pain🙂
The worst map design by far 😂
@@iamphilamonjaro my personal favorite is Qiang Pass, it also heavily favors attackers but at least you got the ballista to defend the points
The randoms I play with need to watch this
I hope they do watch it!
That’s my only thing about breach I don’t like is the friggin leavers man, other than that it’s my favorite game mode.
Yup. It's actually crazy how often I end up in games with at least 2 bots. At this point there is pretty much a bot in every game
ty!
That score @1:20 is it ❤
For all those who don't know just because it's unblockable doesn't mean you can't parry it. This goes for all unblockables
God bless you.
I hate that one guy that goes after the guardian alone and not tell the other teammates. I usually look on the map and find one fighting alone taking forever and not helping
Thank you
Also when you kill the guardian you gain infinite stamina as long as your characters eyes are glowing
Step one Que with premades so your team knows what the Banner is.
Good video but imo its literally just defending or capturing the side points so the arrow minions get the job done. And also picking the right feats.
Thank you! Yeah that is certainly the main factor, but a lot of people seem to think "lose the ramparts lose the game" when there is more to it than that.
But why did you spectate in a match where it snows? That's like the most difficult weather to see in.
The number 1# most important tip/trick is to find a match c:
Finding a match is the easy part! Not having half the team leave before the end is the hard part!
Depends on your region tbh
ty so much!!!! LOL
I find the mechanics of this game especially difficult to grasp : ) ... for example in Breach I riddle how (or if) to use those orange heal icons sometimes displayed by fallen enemies. You are running over one in 7:44. ... do those even have a meaning for me? I found no way to use them.
Those icons are to show when someone is revivable or not as well as how long they have left until they can't be revived :)
Try the castle map Ashfelld it’s easier to defend
Play the objective 🫵
I use the ballista at all times
Fury also stacks with Calderon
@@Edward-z5m Any damage buff is applied!
I know this is an older video but does anyone know if feats affect damage of the cauldron? Example: Fury feat.
I don't believe it has any effect on damage to the ram, but if it does it is not noticeable at all. However, it does affect damage done to attackers standing in the aoe!
@@iamphilamonjaro thanks for the info
@@fallen7for7 Happy to help!
I've had one too many games where a high rep player is just pushing the ram and not defending ramparts, I gotta ask why that is
Hard to say. Sometimes it can be a good idea to focus the ram instead of the ramparts. At the start of the game however, ramparts need to be priority. They could just be trolling, or just haven't really played the mode. Who knows?
I would love to know the timers of the banners
You mean like a timer on screen? I'm not sure, I think having to pay attention to when the banner spawns is a good thing
1st banner spawns at the 27 minute mark, once placed either at the ram or cauldron area if the gate hasn't been broken through it will spawn again 3 minutes from when it was placed. Similar in the second phase whenever the gate was broken through its 3 minutes from that time. Ex: if you broke through at 20 minutes it will spawn at 17
Guys. Ramparts are not the same as Rams. The rampart is the big ass gate the RAM is trying to destroy.
I mean, this isn't really a tips and tricks as much as its just a guide to the mode. Good video tho, kudos
I couldn't decide what to call it, so I put the title as that and called it a guide within the video 😂
@@iamphilamonjaro pro tip. Dont lose ;p
I just wanna know if the banner gives extra lives to the attacking team
You mean if the ram is at full health and still has the banner shield when they get to the commander? If so then no, the max lives attackers can have is 22.
@@iamphilamonjaro Okay but I want to know whether the shield will contribute to the amount of lives given at all, not necessarily only if its at max health
Ah right, no I don't believe it does. I'm pretty sure shields don't count as health and health is what the life count is based on.
If only the people I got in my matches watched this video 😢
The whole reason I made it was because I was tired of people not knowing what they're doing in my games 😂
@@iamphilamonjaro You’re saving our breach matches with every view😂
Since when could you get the same buff If the enemy kills the guardian?
Also Jugg + Shield on Aramusha kills the Guardian in like 10 seconds
Part 2 plz?
The people who need to know these things, aren't watching or listening.
I hardcore wish they would take the ballista out of the final phase
I strongly disagree. Ballista in final phase has strategical importance both for attackers and defenders.
"Common knowledge" he says.
Uh oh… you shouldnt have told me ballistas can damage the ram… Im gunna be so useless
I hate when I'm playing breach and my Teammates rush 3 players and gets crushed
"charging in on your own is a bad idea wait for teamates to respawn" *cough cough* faraam is an exception
Get a 4 people team of not randoms, there u win
I mean yeah, pre-mades make everything easy in lobbies that's just common sense lol.
I kept seeing people I play against in this lool
Breach always seems defender sided whenever I ever played
On paper it sounds like defenders would have the advantage, as they start with all the ramparts capped and as long as they can stay alive on them, they can't lose them. However due to poor map design, attackers often spawn far closer to the ramparts than defenders, putting the defending side on the back foot right out of the gate. All it takes is for the attackers to keep the momentum that they are given from the get go.
>not playing breach
Probably a good idea 😂
Negligible bruh yoh one shot pike men with that that is a very busted effect
Bot gaming
breach is the worst fucking game mode i’ve ever experienced in a game, and the devs never think to balance it or make it playable
It's a shame, because it has the potential to be great, but there's a lot of shitty decisions they've made in it's design which really holds it back
Here’s a tip don’t play breach
“Tips and tricks” = Play the game mode lmao.
Pirate lol
Number one tip don't play it lol
Tip #1: dont play breach.
I wish there was a gamemode which featured more ai. Something like breach with more objectives, officers, contingents of minions. Some real like Battlefront Galactic Conquest shit
I'm not sure it could be pulled off in for honor tbh, but a game based around that sort of thing would definitely get my attention!
@@iamphilamonjaro nah it could definitely be done. Idk how but i know it can
For example, a kind of tug of war gamemode where the focus is on the AI pushing and capturing objectives.
