Hi, thanks for watching this video. I am planning many more videos covering everything to do with making you a better, fitter and faster runner but I need your help. I need 1000 subscribers in order to monetise my channel. When I achieve this I will be in a position to invest back into my channel and take it up a level, so what would be a small gesture from you would be huge help to me. Many thanks for your support.
I want a walking/hiking app for the UK that gives routes/circuits to follow (using paths across fields and pavements) from a given point eg. a carpark with a circuit to walk so that you finish back at your starting point having walked a given route.
Great video. I am 70 and can no longer run so walking is my thing. How can I change my display from MPH to pace which is my most important stat. thanks, Richard
Dynamic Running Fitness it does have a dedicated walk activity (have used on iOS and Android). The walk feature doesn’t have auto pause, which is a little frustrating.
I totally agree with these comments. I power walk and run equally. The fact that power walks are not totaled in my log (eg miles, minutes of activity, etc) is awful. So, I must record them as runs, which throws off all my running data (average run speeds/pace is actually the average of my walking and my running paces…useless!). My fitness partner has encouraged me to find another fitness app (eg Apple workout, WorkOutdoors, etc) just for walking workouts, and have that app sync to Strava. Whether this solves the dilemma is unclear, but I won’t subscribe to Strava because of this gross deficiency (actually more walkers than runner worldwide, so I think they’re selling themselves short). Thanks for your video and for letting me comment my frustration here. Ugh! 😣
It doesn't show total walks at the top level (run, cycle, swim) but if you go into your training log you can filter all your activities and total just the walks.
Strava is not a pedometer. If you want to count your daily steps then it's better to use a different app for that, or a wearable device such as a fitbit or garmin.

Very useful. Your excellent video motivated me to start walking 3 weeks ago and it has kept me at it! Bravo. I do a steady one mile a day!
Great info.
Thanks

Can you tell us about segments? It says no deg recorded.
The first walk I did was set as a cycle and it shows segments?
Just wondering if you used a screen recorder? when showing the actual progress or is there a way to playback
How does it calculate calories just based off the distance? Like different heights/weights expend varied joules.

I do not think that this is possible. Simply track it as a run activity and that will give you the pace in real-time during your walk.

Thanks for your suggestion!
Good video thank you. Do you need mobile data switched on whilst walking?
Yes you do
Enjoyed the video! I was wondering can I listen to music or podcasts while using Strava?
Hi, glad you liked the video. You can have Spotify or other such apps running in the background fid music, podcasts etc.
It’s annoying as I’m a fast walker but to compete against people or getting it on my record without having to add it up I have to map my walks as runs
I agree that seems annoying. I think Strava should have a dedicated 'walk' activity. I do a lot of walking as cross training as well as recovery.

@@jessicasquires6509 yes and i mean like it doesnt show up on your overall record

@@DynamicRunningFitness now they have special option for walk
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
What's a good avg pace?
How does this compare to map my walk?
Hiiii ....how we can see avrage pace aftr complete a race
On the App if you go into the activity and then tap on the orange bar that says 'view analysis', all the data including average pace is in there.
Hi, do i have to run with my phone . My strava app is on my mobile phone?
You will need to take your phone unless you have a smart watch such as a garmin that can also sync up to Strava
How to Calculate steps
How to heart rate on?
My one doesn't show how far I've walked
It doesn't total your walks though only runs?
