Life is an Adventure! At 61 and a grandmother my goal is NOT to live a boring old lady life.😂 I choose experiences over stuff. I am a nomad. I love young ppl (and you) and their creative out of the box ideas. Love from Ireland ☘️☘️☘️
Yes 61 is not what it used to be. I'm half your age but work with lots of people who resemble you. Many of them wants to go in adventures and stuff. I live a quite simple life compared to them but when I see the older ladies enjoying life, I can look forward to becoming an old man myself One day. Good morning from Sweden

Hi Gabe 👋 👋 👋 I've watched you almost every day, my life has changed since my dad passed fe months ago. And I started to change my point of view and accidentally found your channel. Then started changing my lifestyle into a minimalist living not to the extreme but so far that's the road I am taking, I clean up and declutterd almost every week. @@GabeBult thank you Gabe, I am still healing and honestly watching your videos, journey, tips, and everything in your channel helps me to improve my new minimalist lifestyle. Looking at life as a video game & yourself as the character to control is a wonderful idea. Thank you. While you said that you wouldn't let them sit there & watch tv or similar, looking at myself that way would/does allow me to take the necessary mental & physical rest, even if that means sitting like a bump on a log watching tv. I wish I could just sleep for only an hour or take something like in video games to recoup spoons/energy, but I guess actually resting is the real world equivalent.
Love your videos! They’re very informative and easy to watch! I appreciate that you don’t take yourself so seriously. You are an effective teacher. Keep the videos coming!
I agree with almost all of these, but #21 - Happiness is a choice. As someone recently diagnosed with ADHD, and depressed for 20 years, I wish that were true, but as positive as I tried, and as many things as I tried, I never got shifted into the happiness realm. And this experience isn't unique to me, depression is sadly on the rise, and that stigma of just "be happy" can be really damaging/hurtful to people trying to get happy, but just can't.
I understand, however, happiness is still a choice. It’s *just* a hell of a lot harder. And your thought processes such as noticing when you are catastrophising and try a different angle. it’s a skill that can harnessed. Spoken as someone who has struggled with depression her entire life.
Focus, too-the executive dysfunction that can come with ADHD just blows #2 out of the water. "Just Do it", "Start It Today", etc, yeah, you don't fucking say. 🙄
New subscriber here I just want to let you know I enjoy your content you're really easy to listen to. Often times I find myself getting annoyed with the way people talk on podcasts or RUclips videos but you're doing it right for me. Also I like your wall, that's pretty unique. especially with the lighting and gloss finish. Neat. Thanks again.
If it takes 2 minutes or less, just do it: I thought, I should wash that gross pot that's been sitting on my stove for... well, waaaaay too long, and I'll probably have enough time to wash a few other things, as well. As I washed the pot, I noticed it was taking way more than 2 minutes, even with a steel wool scrubby pad, because it had a bunch of grooves where oily grossness gets trapped. So I got curious: does the smaller pot with a lid that I have also have those grooves? Nope. They are not necessary for pot design, and if I used this poorly designed pot once/week, that would mean unpleasant cleaning time of almost 2 hours per year! I'd rather do pretty much anything else with that 2 hours. That pot is getting donated! If I find that I really do need one that large, I am going to look very carefully at the next large pot I acquire, to make sure it will be super easy to clean. I have a hunch the smaller pot is actually adequate for my needs, but we'll see. :-)
"It will pass." This one is powerful once you come to accept it. All the hard things will pass. And they fade faster if you are making an honest effort to make your life happier and yourself a better person.
I'm almost 52 and I still take risk and don't regret them because even if they all don't work out I don't let my age be an excuse for not doing something I want to do and if I lose money, I lose money. Hopefully, however, by the time you get in your fifties you will have learned enough that you are smart enough not to put all of your eggs in one basket as the saying goes and you will have other resources to fall back on.

I hated cooking when I was busy with excess stuff, now I realize it's way cheaper, I have way more control over what goes into my food, and from a health-perspective, it's a better investment than supplemental substances and activities.
Spelling habit as habbit is the cutest spelling. Makes me think a habit is like a small furry animal, which can go rogue and chew your electrical cords!

Instead of "Reconsider going to school", I'd say to just take a gap whatever (semester, year, 2-year, 5-year, never) to do something significant (not waste your time playing XBox, these are 2 completely different things...). It's not that much going to college, the problem, but more the rush and pressure young adults get from their social circle. I didn't go to university before I was 25. First, if I had done so at 18-19, I wouldn't have took it half as seriously, I would have wasted a considerable amount of money and I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much... and as you said, getting real life experience gives you a serious advantage over your fellow college mates who never experienced the real world yet. I don't understand why gap years or not mandatory...
absolutely and I'm a big fan of taking a few years and make sure you know what you want to go to school for before you make that big of a commitment. I know when I was 18 I had absolutely no clue what I wanted to do
Gabe Bult I would recommend that to a lot of people as well, and think it’s a great idea to take some time off when you don’t know what you want, just to get some experience and new perspectives.
