The moose was smart to stay in the water just deep enough to make the wolf swim and tire out while keeping his feet grounded, saving energy.
Lucky it was water. Normally wolves have incredible stamina. So much so that one of their hunting tactics is to chase their prey until the prey can no longer run. They'll run them down for several miles effortlessly.
Because moose are smart.
Nope a wolf has endurance like no other land animal, the wolf didn’t attack because he knows the moose has a bigger advantage in deep water
If the other wolf you see at the end went to help they would have won easily
@@nonames000 not really... no matter what, Until they drive the moose out of water, They'll hold the disadvantage of having to swim and jump while the moose walks and can retaliate easily
Meanwhile, the rest of the wolfpack encircles the drone pilot.
Truls... 👍🤣
Well played, wolves.. well played.
I know this is a joke, but realistically the wolves would be avoiding that pilot like the plague XD
I laughed so hard at this, thank you for the luls
attack of the air wolf!
This was one of the last videos I sent my dad before he died. He loved the outdoors and taught me the same.
I just gained a whole new respect for the power and determination of a wolf.
GOFORBROKE yes sir, he or she didnt even let go that easy and i even thought the moose drowned him/her but was attached to that piece of steak😄
@Bill McLean The wolf thought a bit more highly of himself than was practical this time.I suspect that moose is old and on borrowed time.
@@m.m2594 In this case, the wolf was certainly safe from receiving any damage from the antlers.
Brian Jones Nature designed wolves to take animals 10x larger than them with an incredible stamina, like for e,g an Alpha wolf is know to be singlely able to drag a 750kg bison on land.. here the moose was lucky with great advantage on water..
@Warning [Error: Ox2OO1OOO6] including you😂🤔
THIS is the value of RUclips. Ordinarily such a scene would be wrapped up in an hour-long documentary on wild Canada or something similar. Our attention spans today don't want to commit to such an hour-long endeavour, and so we never see such sights. But we'll take a chance on a 6-minute clip, hoping that it's something of substance and not clickbait. And this - this - is a fantastic video. A part of life we never really see. Thank you for this.
Well put
Well written ! Agreed

I’ve been born and raised in northern Ontario. I’ve seen plenty of moose, even wolves, bears, lynx and all kinds of animals. But to witness this, would have an incredible sight to see. So amazing
Do you mean "sight" perchance?
you've seen plenty of lynx, bears and wolves? wtf do you live in the bush or are you out stalking them? Cause they are not common regardless if you live there, i've lived in northern ontario myself and haven't seen plenty of any of these.
@@88tylor Actually you're wrong. Not sure what part of northern Ontario you live in but I've spotted 3-4 lynx on my drive to and from work a lot. Bears are common as well. Wolves on the other hand are a lot more elusive, in my whole life I've only seen 9. And one of them was a red wolf believe it or not.
uh... didn't you witness it here?
@@inthezoneeeechief my rottweiler got I a fight with 2 red wolves here in southern Ontario ot was late at night 3 am took him to the dog park I live in a suburb and these weren't coyotes both same size as my dog but my dog was clearly denser and much heavier. My dog held his ground on both of them tried fucking the female and only got bit twice in what I think was a male to male dominance fight in my dogs eyes but u think the coyotes were trying to kill him.
Crazy. This was right in front of the McGuire Cabin on Lake Achigan. Loved having the opportunity to share this with you.
What an amazing shot was captured right here - not only was the wolf so determined and just kept on going but the moose showed the will to survive so candidly. Well done for being in the right place at the right time.
Anyone else yelling at the moose, GET INTO THE DEEPER WATER!!!!!!!
Inspired Milk yes, several times. 😦
As the wolf was yelling GET INTO MY BELLY!!!
Exactly what i was thinking. He moos has a major advantage in water few to it's hight
Moose could have laid down on the wolf drowning him.
Me!!😂🤣😂🤣😂
At the end.
Wolf: "It's a prank bro. Here is the camera flying"
Moose: "WTF, dude! You really scared me"
Константин Трофименко , Funny, but the drone should be far back with no interference.
animals dont talk DUDE~
LMAO best comment....
Anthropomorphizing animals is retarded.
Woxineau Crows fuck off its a joke
I'm impressed with the wolfs stamina and endurance
Yeah wolves have great stamina if you put a wolf against a cheetah in a long race the wolf will defiantly win
What stamina? He gave up the chase. Endurance? The wolf ran out of gas. All the moose had to do was to go after the wolf once the wolf pretty much got too tired and decided to quit.
@alvaroq2024 k, you try to launch attack on full grown moose w only your teeth
You can tell the wolf was looking for its partner like "didnt we go over this?"
no that's the the drone distracting the both of them
@@scenenuf the drone shows two other wolves though on the shore??
That wolf must have been STARVING to after a moose alone like that.
The drone footage showed to more wolves waiting on land on the railroad tracks. That's why the moose stayed in the water.

What an AMAZING video!
...must have had a good battery.
The suspenseful and well chosen background music has a large role in it too.
The HD is awesome
The wolf wasted a lot of energy pursuing a large healthy moose alone. It was better off looking for crayfish under rocks...
Wolf wasn't alone, was likely trying to get the Moose to take off towards shore where the 2nd wolf was waiting and they would have better odds. Moose was too smart for that. :)
You guys should be wolves
The wolf wasn’t tired either as they have great stamina like no other land species, since the moose it taller it has great avantages in deep water where the wolf had to swim while attacking..
Better luck next time..
@@dylankn8129 The wolf has greater stamina than the moose does. The wolf keeps looking for shore to see where his pack is or keeping an escape route in mind.
@@billytk1225 We don't know if the second wolf was nearby ready to attack the moose, all we know is it didn't join in but was farther away after this event.
I have a cottage close to Lake Rosseau and I've seen wolves run across my property a few times. Terrifying yet beautiful to witness. That wolf was desperate going for that moose that size alone. Awesome video, you don't get to see that everyday.
it's like watching Planet Earth all over again, I don't want the predator to starve, but at the same time I don't want the prey to die.
Agree. I think if predators could kill large prey quickly without them suffering..we'd all feel better about the whole thing. But nature can be cruel in that respect.
Adrenaline or the shock. Let's hope so. We'll never know. The other topic I dislike is the trapping industry where animals (including wolves) are snared or foot-trapped and left to die over days. The whole principle is frustrating and head-shaking.
Oh stfu - -"
Hugh J., what the heck does your obviously biased opinion of regulated fur trapping have to do with this great video? Educate yourself before making these asinine statements. Fantastic footage Dan N.
Jan Morse...The context of my comment is the discussion on death of animals. Most trapping activities do not result in a quick death. For example, I think leg-hold traps should be completely banned. They're the definition of unethical.
The courage and tenacity of this lone wolf is completely insane. This wolf is wanting you !
Why would you possibly give this a thumbs down? It's absolutely incredible!! National Geographic would pay top dollar for this.
That wolf was trying to lure the moose towards his mates hanging out in the forest.
Maybe, but just as likely a young male out on his own. What makes me think this is how hes distracted by the drone, Wolves are machines, i cannot see a mature wolf getting distracted from a kill like that.
@@marksbikeexports5123 the wolf didnt have a chance alone camera drone or not no diff
bob pete because the person flying the drone is interfering with the animals hunt, it literally looks like the done scares the wolf away at the end. It’s very detrimental to the wellbeing of natural environments if people interfere like that, that wolf may of been able to make a successful kill without the drone flying over it, or if the drone had been flown properly so as not to interfere as any naturalist worth their salt would have recognised they needed to do.
@@marksbikeexports5123 Wolves are also super scared of humans, so at the moment he realised he was spyed on by this "definetly-not-a-bird-that-smells-like-humans", his priority wasn't to get a meal, but to gtfo....

The length of time that wolf spent under water was amazing in it's self!

plainnsimple78 no it was hiding under the water like a crocodile waiting.
Sometimes nature has a way of overcompensating for lacking. This wolf had balls far bigger than his pea brain.
Captndarty cuz he's a crocodile lol
This type of drama is happening in the forest every day. We are so lucky that the Internet is helping us to see this, while we sit in our chairs and drink a strawberry shake.
Nature is great in HD :-)

That wolf is either brave or stupid or starving or all of the above.
Desperate. Starving. Sometimes animals will try this but now, its burned through its calories fighting in deep water and might starve to death since it doesnt have the energy for another take-down

Yeah, that drone totally interferes with the wolf’s focus near the end
Definitely did the opportunities for the wolf were comfortable unfortunately the drone was more excited than waiting for nature to take its course .
@Enfield Lammergeier Firstly, a wolf is rarely alone. Secondly, even if the rest of the pack would have never taken part (and we'll never know), in no way, would it justify interfering with this predator with a drone.
Like that mattered, he was already dropping from exhaustion...

Luca Fidanza no one gives a fuck
He was probably trying to drive it into land where his buddies were waiting. Fortunately, the Moose was likely aware these guys never travel alone. What a brilliant video!!
also wondered if that was a mama and her cub was the one waiting on track..?
I know a guy who is does nothing but study the relationship between wolves and moose on Isle Royal National Park and one of the things he has seen many times is a wolf or wolves hanging onto a moose with no wounds other that purely superficial and the moose will just fall over dead. He believes that moose stress out fairly easily and just cardiac arrest or die from shock or something simular. So maybe that wolf knew exactly what he was doing.
The fight to survive in the wild is so cruel .... both animals are amazing creatures. Much respect .

The wolf is determined .. incredible
Maybe that's where "dogged" determination comes from? Dunno.
Wolf pussed out, and retreated. Some animals just can't hang in the outdoors.
The wolf was fucking lucky the moose was in the water where its weight and power didn't count for anything. On dry land, a moose would have likely destroyed a single wolf in under a minute.

Imagine taking days to find a fridge and when you found it it drowned you and stomped the shit out of you instead of just opening it and grabbing a burger
Cody G good one
Unless your vegeterian then your fridge just sits in the same exact place forever and you can eat it whenever you want and it doesn't give a shit.
Corncakes
Plants do give a shit, they have a fuckton of different defenses to prevent animals from eating them, you cant compare the green nightmares animals have to put up with the gentle domesticated plants we eat
Also, they dont sit around forever, lots of herbivores starve in nature too
meh, you basically missed the entire point and went on pointing out shit everyone already knows, it's easier to be a vegetarian than it is a carnivore, specifically if you're a human because you don't have to go out and worry about eating bad plants or anything like that, but everything you said basically only applies if you're an animal in the wild which I 100% agree with. there are merits to being a carnivore like not having to worry about eating toxic plants, but the whole moral argument you made about plants having nightmares is silly, cause you sound like a butthurt vegan. I eat a pretty average american diet, steak and potatoes all the way, but plants can't feel shit let's be real here and even if that did happen it doesn't stop me from eating steak, so sucks to be that plant haha
Corncakes but than if your a vegetarian you get the shit beated outa you
And the wolf said to his wolf buddies “one two three ... Attack”. They all snickered in the bushes watching their friend get wet.
Moose: Get to the choppa!!!
Wolf: Starts self destruct arm band! (Maniacal Laugh!!!)
Wolf lasted a lot longer than I thought he would. I bet he hurt for days after getting kicked a hundred times
Didn't look as though the moose landed any direct shots with its kicks. If it had, the fight would have ended much sooner.
The determination of that wolf is unbelievable. She/he keeps looking to the shore, i bet it has young hungry mouths to feed.
What a beautiful video. The moose knew how to survive.
The moose should’ve built a brick house so when the wolf huffs and puffs he doesn’t blow the house down
That's ridiculous, where's a moose gonna get bricks?
very interesting that it would go after that moose solo for so long. and in water as well, a very risky move, it must have been desperate or just insanely brave. beautiful video, thank you for sharing!
kingofwaffles13 might have been a young adult and was trying new tactics. It knows now in big water feature such as a large lake is a difficult method and won't get a meal easily. They do remember trouble they get into.
PatheticPeople yes it was very risky for the lone wolf.. but near the end of the video they showed the wolf that attempted the take down in water with a second wolf, on the train tracks. The second wolf looked adult sized too. Their both running down screen between and near the rails.
That mutha fucka was hungry
To capture such a scene with a drone is amazing luck! And amazing drone skills!
Stunning footage, well done 👽👍.
That wolf must have been way hungry!!!!
My dad filmed this and i am so proud of him. I love you dad. ❤️❤️❤️
This wolf is so hungry that he/she, is determined to get at this moose at any cost.
The lone wolf must have been something hungry to take on a beast like a moose.! That was life or death, hungry.!
He only had to wound the moose and let nature take its course....
That is one tough wolf , great preditor skills , great stamina , not giving up so easily , yes the mooses size prevailed but i bet you that moose almost shit its antlers out a few times.
Yeah, if that moose ran into 3 of them it probably would've been dogfood.
Skip Kot , it's the dumbass drone pilot, clearly interfered and spooked the wolf off. Large drones are loud. Otherwise it would've been much better footage if he didn't get in between them.
Yeap wolfs are cool but the true warriors of the woods are the wolverines
First wolf was probably trying to trick the moose into the path of the other two wolves and things didn't work out. The other two wolves were waiting by the tracks thinking whats taking them so long. Finally they went back to check. Or, that first wolf was mommy and the other two were her pups, too young to participate.
ad loren 3 wolves..storm the wolve took down 1 buffalo alone...
Absolutely Incredible! Timing is everything!
I live in Ontario FREAKING awesome here the scenery is AMAZING
The wolf didn't look like it was distracted by the drone when it let go... it looked like it was distracted by water entering it's lungs. If that wolf really was alone, it wasn't going to kill a moose in the water.
That wolf either had some serious balls or it was desperately hungry to take on a full sized moose by itself.
watch the whole video before you comment. there are two wolves in the area. But i doubt the smaller female came out to help cause of the drone buzzing around. When the chase starts youll actually see the wolf look into the bush like its waiting for help.
The wolf was very lucky he tried this crap in the water where the moose's weight and power didn't mean anything. On dry land, a lone wolf would likely get the shit stomped out of it in under a minute. Even if the wolf got lucky and managed to bring the moose down, there'd be a risk of being fallen on. It's pretty easy to sustain a serious orthopedic injury when you're wrestling something ten times your size.
There were probably 20 more wolves in the trees (around the trees for the annoying literal-only thinkers). The only wolves that attack alone are banished old males. The fact that you can see another wolf, tells me there were a lot more outside of view.
@Mercb3ast That comment shows you know nothing about wolves, or never had to deal with them.

Good job. That was interesting. The moose was smart to stay in the water, probably knew that instinctively.

This footage is fascinating. The determination of both the moose and the wolf impressive. The Air view worked well, reminding us that we ourselves are removed from such desperate daily struggles! Wolf: 'I'm definitely going to get you'Moose:'Not today'
That one wolf by its self never had a chance but was hungry so had to try
All my Respects by this Wolve , Just Lonely , Not feel Afraid , Incredible Wolf , Aplausses
Wow, that’s some National Geographic quality stuff there!! Nice job!
The whole wolf pak wuz waitin' by the railroad tracks like " did u get it?...naw"
That wolf is so hungry he would try and kill a full grown grizzly
I was wondering the whole time which one is going to tire out first. The wolf ….. actually the best ending for both. Neither die that day.
Thanks for the video but the drone scared the wolf into giving up. The drone altered the outcome. I was rooting for the moose.
Fascinating. Evidently, the Moose was in trouble at first however he began to implement a survival plan.....:)
4:44 wolf looks at the drone camera. Hi!
It’s actually not funny that he’s distracting wild animals while they fight for their lives just to get some clicks.
That wolf took like 20 moose hoofs to the body and at least a couple to his head and still was chasing that moose.
The hunger is real.
It's called triggered and in the moment.
Double D

I can't believe you caught this encounter on a drone, just an unbelievable video. How harsh, yet beautiful is nature.
Amazing luck to capture that wildlife scene.
