    Hi Luca, habe mir dein review sicher 6 Mal angeschaut und nun entschieden mein Glory gegen das Reign SX einzutauschen. Bestes review auf YT wie ich finde zu diesem bike. Danke dafür, hat mir echt geholfen, weil ich ziemlich lange gegrübelt habe, das Glory ist halt auch geil leider. Denke das SX wird ein perfekter Ersatz sein, weil breitbandiger.

    I brought this bike too. Totally agree. I've yet to change the dropper as I got the large with a 150 and want the 170. The coil i feel might be better if it was a bit stiffer (personal pref), but I've not really ridden enough to make up my mind. Great video, good luck with the channel.

      Thanks :D enjoy riding that beast and maybe protect the frame with some protective foil, if you choose to learn from my mistakes ^^
      look into the OneUp Dropper range, maybe you can even fit the 210mm version because of its short build height, to me more space for my knees is always better ;)

    Having ridden my own 2020 Giant Reign SX 29 for only about a month now I think you summed things up very nicely and I agree with almost everything you found with the bike. I had to change the spring on last year's Reign SX (2019) also as it came with the DVO shock again with a very light 350# spring. Way too soft for a medium size frame IMO and I'm only 168lbs (76kg) - not a heavier rider by far. I am just waiting for my 450# fox spring now to replace the 350# so I'm not running 45% sag with more pre-load than Fox recommends...

    • @luca.morell
      @luca.morell  4 года назад +1

      Nice, hope you'll get your spring soon. Have a great time riding that beast :D

      Luca Morell is be curious as to your spring weight, settings on shock and fork. You’re riding style is similar to ours and it looks like you’ve got the suspension pretty dialled in.

    • @luca.morell
      @luca.morell  4 года назад +1

      @@ddrenth I'm running a 450 spring, to be honest I didn't write down the settings because I mess with them a lot and now I can't look it up, the shock exploded last week and I had to send it back to fox...
      But I was running slightly lower pressure in the fork, than Fox recommended. I stick to their rebound recommendations +-2 klicks (high pressure = more damping/ low pressure = less damping and the same with diffrent spings on the shock)
      Then I'd normally add volumespacers untill it feels too harsh and take the last one back out (which I didn't on the Giant)
      That's my base and then I adjust the compression depending on the kind of riding I do:
      as little compression as possible for rough Downhills and going as fast as possible and for jumping I add compression damping.
      When I feel strong and a the beginning of a day I often ride more compression and dial it down after a couple of hours for more comfort.
      Hope that helps sorry that I didn't have specific settings for you.

    Nice review!! I have Reign 1 29 and came to the same conclusions. Didn't have a problem with rear shock because I have X2 and I am super happy with the shock... I have a feeling like there is more than 146mm travel in back :) The botom out is so smooth. Anyway I am super impressed with the bike.

    • @luca.morell
      @luca.morell  5 лет назад +1

      You´re totally right it doesn´t feel like the bike has less travel in the rear :D
      I belive that is true you won´t have these issues with your air shock since, it airshocks are more progressive and you can always adjust the pressure.
      I went from the 350 to a 400 and now a 450 spring. And most likely I will go up to 500 or 550 soon, because it still is quite soft, even though I seldom bottom out, my bike is very soft compared to other riders who do similar stuff. Especially if you want to do big natural gaps, it feels like the suspension is still soaking up too much energy.

    • @Domen991
      @Domen991 4 года назад

      @@luca.morell You should try an X2, the bike is lively and poppy with an air shock. Its easier to jump and I can jump further with reign than I did with pivot firebird. Bike has a nice poppy feeling, at least with X2.

    • @luca.morell
      @luca.morell  4 года назад

      @@Domen991 With the 450 coil instead of the 350 it´s very poppy already, but maybe I will go up to 550 because I love the supple first inches without friction of the coil. And to be honest for now a x2 isn´t in my budget, but you´re right that would make a massive diffrence :D

    • @luca.morell

      incredibly well, due too the stiff frame, the supple coil shock and the short chainstays. Compared to a 27,5 bike you have to be a little bit more active and work the bike around a little more. You can see that alittle better in my videos "Full Enduro" and "Berms"
