Great video and beautiful nature! Yesterday I have ordered my Giant Reign SX 29 2022 L. This bike is great enduro race machine! Best from Vienna! Drago
Great vid, I have tge 2020 sx too but in the 27.5 and I freaking love it. I have found that the coil doesn't handle well on the big hits so I have already purchased a heavier spring. 👌
@@christiankrahenbuhl1563 75kg rider. Originally had the 400lbs spring, changed to a 450lbs and lost all small bump sensitivity. So made the call to just leave the 400lbs in. I have since upgraded and I'm now riding the YT capra shred which the 350lb fox coil is the bomb, never bottoms out and is so plush.
is the maestro suspension design the reason it only has 146mm rear travel? Does it somehow let the rear wheel travel further with less stroke from the shock? seems odd to have 170mm in the front and only 146mm rear.
Thanks for the helpful review. I am looking for a conference building, stable bike for occasional trips to the bike park and/ or enduro race lines. Reign? Any other suggestions? P.S. I have a short travel trail bike for my daily.
If you already have a trail bike, I would hands down recommend the Reign SX 29. It's one of the best descending bikes I've ridden in the past year at a pretty affordable price.
+1 I've only thrown my leg over one at the store, @1.77m / 5'10" initial thoughts were, the Medium felt cramped in the cockpit, and the Large felt big - like a tractor. Sizing has me bang in the middle of medium, so wondering if the cramped feeling is just a function of the new steep seat tube angle on the 29'ers, and would feel good on the trail bombing with the seat out of the way... Holding out for a demo' day.
I'd certainly race enduro on it. It corners fine, but to be honest most of our trails out here in the west are generally pretty straight. We don't have as much of that tight and twisty terrain like the east coast.
Hey this big looks awesome and you are in the snow, why arent are you slipping away? You should be falling all over the place? Your scaring me with this video lol

Super good review. Sick trails too. I watched the whole thing.
Thanks for sticking around and watching to the end!
Thanks for the review. I already bought one of these and I concur with your experience.
Stoked you got one. It's a cool bike for sure.

What is your weight and what spring did you end up switching to? Thanks ahead for the reply.

Great review and video footage. Would you please do a test on a carbon Reign 29er as well.
When we get them for our demo fleet we will make a video. Should be a month or two.

That’s just how the bike is designed. Normally it’s 146 rear and 160 front but the SX gets a bit longer fork.
Also thinking about giving one of them a test ride, SNOW...
Great review, love bobsled!
Hey thanks! It's a classic trail for sure.
How would you compare the Reign SX vs. a Ripmo AF?
Haven't really spent any time on a Ripmo AF just yet. We have on in for a video right now though. Stay tuned.
Any update on this comparison?

Yeti sb150
@@donnpassMTB I would look at the new 2020 aluminum frame Santa Cruz Hightower $2899. I love mine.
@@rogercucci i had Hightower before but Yeti I prefer more much better bike for me, nothing against SC but yeti rides better for me.
What size bike were you on? How tall are you? Any sizing comments are appreciated.
TIA
+1

I'm 6'2" and I was on the XL. I go a little more into sizing in the article on our website www.bebikes.com/the-hub/giant-reign-29-sx-first-ride-review
Is that Boise, ID ?
Salt Lake City.
thanks for the info.
would this be a good enduro race bike, also how did the bike corner compared to other bikes you've reviewed?

what gopro did you use in that?
Hero 7 with the Karma gimbal.
Wow man, great video! What friggin camera is that oO
Hey thanks! I use a GoPro Hero 7 and Karma Gimbal.
Ruts and snow..you must've really wanted to ride ,bro!!?
Must.Ride.Every.Day. It's a blessing and a curse.
Thoughts on this vs kona process 153 DL 29?
Haven’t ridden that one. Can’t compare. I can say the Reign SX is one of the quieter and more planted bikes I’ve ridden.

The bike is really good. So much traction with that coil shock.
