Whatever the reason Mike didn't speak ,the fans love him for his great contribution to the Moodies just as much as all the others ,its only a short clip maybe there was an explanation, perhaps he was unwell. but it doesn't really matter, Mike will be always remembered for his Amazing Mellotron playing without which the sound of the Moodies would not have been half as good, and maybe we would have never had heard of them without him..the Mellotron sound captivated me immediately ,Mystical, Spiritual ,so inspiring and Mikes voice aint half bad too.
In fairness to the other members of the group, it was Pinder who essentially walked away from the band. When the Octave album came out he decided he only wanted to perform in the recording studio, he told the others he wouldn't go on tour any longer. The other band members maintained this would be unfair to the audiences, who would no longer get to hear Pinder's compositions and voice in the concerts, so they voted him out. Pinder's rift with Edge wasn't the issue at all.
Mike's family and said that the choice not to speak or perform at the ceremony was his. He was treated with respect by his former bandmates and as an equal. He was not snubbed. I prefer to trust the word of those involved with and close to the situation as the truth. Just a shame they couldn't have been inducted while Ray was alive. Hayward, Lodge, Edge, Thomas, and Pinder were THE Moody Blues. The classic lineup and the one that saw their best work. Denny Laine's inclusion (yes I know he sang "Go Now") seems strange to me. When I think the Moody Blues I think of them from 1967 onward
Sad that Mike Pinder didn't speak. Even if he does have health issues, it seems he could have gone to the microphone and said "Thank you". If not that, at least been able to go up front and wave. He deserved that at least. After all, he was a founding member and the Core 7 wouldn't have been the same without him for he contributed so much. Personally, am very disappointed.
Where is Denny Laine who sang "Go Now". I hope this is not going to be another oversight like The Hollies when Terry Sylvester & the other members of The Hollies band were overlooked.
This is a new 3 with Justin John and Mike I realize there was a 3 but always thought Ray was still there with The flute that makes sense with another 4
why not? No 5 Now 3 Pinder a Capricorn like Thomas signifies The Earth Justin a Libra The Balance John the Light and now a new group is formed! what do you Think???!
