Just discovered Sheer Mag today. These songs are so good!!! When did people start writing good music again??? Is rock not dead??? Please keep me updated
As a writer/musician/ producer I am constantly surrounded by music, and this is in my opinion the best song/ performance that I have heard in years by any band. The guitar riff and chord choices are so tasty, and when the singer hits "that" note ( there's at least four of 'em) I smile. The bass glues it all together and the drums serve the song as Ringo ( before my time but a closer listen reveals how intuitive and inventive Ringo was) did.
Well, nobody's heard of you, so... your expertise needs some more work. You can begin by digging a spoonful of cheese out of your ears, because... this is garbage
I like the voice, but can't figure out how such a big girl has such a little thin voice. Her voice is pretty resonant on the KEXP studio talk session. She might sound pretty cool singing a bit lower.
Amazing vocals. They’re deliberately recorded lo-fi, which makes them get fuzzy and not so clear, but if you understand this, it’s so easy to see the amazing vocals underneath. I personally love it. And fools talking about her looks? I hope she doesn’t change a damn thing. She’s a star.
no it's just a shit recording, and she is hiding any talent she actually has in vocal effects worse than Keisha . holds the mic to close when she signs, has too much gain on it, more reverb & delay than van halen's eruption. Elvis and his era had the sound your talking about and never sound that bad.
@MTRredux poor choice then bro as ex band promoter still say nope fish if you read comments only a small cult disagrees. Small cults, not a successful fan base make.
Yes, the awesome guitar playing would make Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Joe Walsh, and Mark Knofler smile, but the vocals are crushing it as well. I am sure she could sing beautifully if she wanted, or emulate the slew of pop singers out there that all sound alike, but this song calls for attitude, which she has tons of. Any open minded listener can hear she has vocal talent and a style all her own.
yeah but its mixed like shit and uses too much effect on her voice, is where all the criticism is coming from. Dude i used to manage bands and have a degree in music, they needs to fix some things if they want to be taken serious, starting with the reverb abuse in a small room causing a distorted standing wave in the recording.
The fact that a crap band like Greta van fleet is huge among dad-rockers but this band isn't blows my mind. This woman has PIPES. Amazing vocals and songwriting.
jeremy panjaitan Janis? I think not. Nothing against this gal or band , but this is very poppy and the girls voice is very light, childlike, not bluesy , gritty or soulful. There was only one Janis.
Everyone saying she has a terrible voice is so hypocritical. If it were a man singing, you’d be fine with it. But she puts on a masculine voice and you hate it.. not all women are soft wilting flowers.
Astrid Wagner what are you on about? If it were a man, it would be a completely different voice. You haven’t made any point whatsoever. There are plenty of shit male vocalists... and plenty of amazing female vocalists. And vice versa. She just happens to fall into the category of a shit female vocalist. Are we not allowed to be critical because she’s a woman? Social justice at its finest.
Brilliant band, but need the right producer who understands how to make authentic 70s radio hits to take it to the next level. I don't think there are many of these guys around these days, if any. I do love this band and I hope they crack their formula. They are so close P.S. I know the current producer is going to think I'm an idiot who doesn't know what they're talking about. I apologise dude, no offense meant. Peace and love
Ester Nadiv Also, kind of like someone who just discovered MIDI sequencing, and now stuffs in as many notes as they can because they can. The riff is shapeless. I really like their song Fan the Flames, though. Maybe they're in their coked out, wanky virtuoso arena tour phase.
They could use all the reverb in the world (& holy fuck, they tried) & it still wouldn't make her sound any better. _...I'd want my cover charge refunded_
Awesome reminds me of Phoenix and Daft Punk but more rocky. I understand people's grief with the vocals but I blame the distortion effect which makes it sound too screechy. I much like her live voice its different but adds to the music certainly better than auto-tune shit you hear in most music these days!!!
*Clicks on video **0:22* Man, that's a dope ass rift. *0:36** Vocals kick in* Has anyone reported this video to PETA? These guys are obviously torturing a cat in order to get vocals for their band.
+J B yes master, it's very convenient when daddy has a recording studio conveniently placed in the basement of his home. I also enjoy this song, this lady just happens to sound exactly like cartman
One of the best songs ever. This is so criminaly underatted. Genious guitar, and everything so funky, full of rythm, cathcy mellody and joyfull!

Then what the hell are you doing here? Move on. Jesus. You sure spent alot of time here for someone who dislikes it so much.
Check out Viagra Boys
She's got soul, this is great.
Sheer Mag is so, so great. I'm like an excited school girl for this band. Just went out and bought all the albums, everyone should do the same.
Hahaha
_.......God, no_
Good to see you guys are still rockin in your ways. This song is great.
I have this on my playlist for years. A classic, hope all band members are doing well.
Wowzers! Don't know how this band flew under my radar. Love new music discoveries.
I figured lots of other people would hate on the singing but I love how the singer sells it. Great song.
I like the voice, but can't figure out how such a big girl has such a little thin voice. Her voice is pretty resonant on the KEXP studio talk session. She might sound pretty cool singing a bit lower.
@@Francis-rs7zu what's crazy is live her voice is so powerful . They are such a good live act
I love this! Just saw them perform recently, they were fantastic.
This song has such an irresistible swagger to it.
the lyrics to this song are another level. the music is amazing but listen to her words!!!!
A friend pointed out a certain cartoon characters voice that nearly killed this for me. However, I got over it, and so excited about this band still!

Hopefully finally seeing them live tonight wish me luck! Xox
It's so familiar yet so weird. I don't know what to make of it and that's a good thing
Great song. Screw the negative comments they have no ear for good music sadly.
i just heard this on my local radio station and damn im in loveeeee
Great guitar and voice!

Anyone that would argue that her vocals are “amazing” simply doesn’t know what amazing vocals are lol anyone could sing this
@@yaboyreege7158 then get to it then mebey we won't have to suffer you
@@arkensauce22 good one sped
Literally my first time hearing this band and I'm diggin' them! What a great mix of guitars and lead singing.

She sounds like lil Michael and it’s amazing
What a sweet guitar ♡
And I fucking love her voice. I just fell in love.
Dip like Robert Quine
I love the style of singing, I love the politically charged lyrics, I love all of it
Lynyrd Skynyrd + Thin Lizzy + Janis Joplin = Sheer Mag!
Glad i get to hear this guys
jeremy panjaitan Janis? I think not. Nothing against this gal or band , but this is very poppy and the girls voice is very light, childlike, not bluesy , gritty or soulful.
There was only one Janis.
That’s a definite insult to Mrs. Joplin. This girl and band are ok but definitely not anything like Janis
Sheer Mag For Everyone Forever
This rocks. Yeah, the vocals are abrasive. They're meant to be. Punk rock generally doesn't aim to be easy.
This ain't punk rock chief
This isn’t punk rock lol
Holy shit! _.........punk?!?_
Sid Vicious would slap the shit out of you
Está banda me alimenta el alma.

im not huge on this band normally but i fuckin love the unison in the voice and guitar in the chorus
Thats how you play a guitar.
Well, I'm sorry then.

Todd Rundgren is still around.
Not sold on the singer's voice, but Tele Guitar guy's a f-ing monster!
Sounds basic as fuck to me.
👌
NTSC footage!
I’ve seen it all
Anybody else hear a little Sweet Home Alabama in the riff?
I do.
Ester Nadiv Also, kind of like someone who just discovered MIDI sequencing, and now stuffs in as many notes as they can because they can. The riff is shapeless. I really like their song Fan the Flames, though. Maybe they're in their coked out, wanky virtuoso arena tour phase.
this morphs into an allman brothers song by the outro.
That, plus some Slint.
great unknown band
I want that cloak. Anyone know if it's a real merch item?
man i really2 want to hear this song live :'''
Can't believe all this hate on the vocals! 🤷♀️
They could use all the reverb in the world (& holy fuck, they tried) & it still wouldn't make her sound any better.
_...I'd want my cover charge refunded_
I think her voice sounds cool af, nurds. I'd take this any day over that polished auto tuned horse shit
I'm not a fan of her style and I don't think the mixing and effects do her any favors. She's definitely talented though.
This has Philadelphia written all over it...
love sheer mag. fuck pitchfork
