NOTE ON TSA PRECHECK vs GLOBAL ENTRY -- You receive TSA PreCheck standard with Global Entry so ALWAYS get Global Entry!! Global entry back into the US is amazing, seriously almost scarily amazing. You'll be through customs almost without breaking a step.
Great note, something I didn't even fully consider. Sounds like Global Entry is definitely the move since you'll get added exposure to TSA Pre-Check that way anyway. Appreciate you watching!
When i add other people to my card like my partner and daughter, since i get tsa pre check money every year from the card, can i use that next year and following year to spend it on them?
My wife and I just used our travel credit to stay at the state hotel (we live in Tacoma). The only real downside is the no domestic airline partners thing. I tried doing the workaround like using avios or virgin, but it never worked.
I’m here first…. I’m loving my Venture X so far. When I came back from Nassau earlier this year, I was in the immigration line for about an hour and ended up being late to the gate. Thankfully Bahamasair usually waits for their passengers when they know things are backed up at the airport, but I definitely had anxiety. The global entry line on the other hand…oh wait, they didn’t have a line. People went to the kiosk, then when they were done, were immediately called to the next available immigration officer ahead of the rest of us in the general line. Needless to say, I’ll be getting global entry for sure.
I basically experienced the same thing when I was coming back from Colombia at the Atlanta airport. Global entry isn’t talked about or hyped up as much but it can be incredible valuable. Thank you for watching CJ!
I have my cap1 venture x now for a year but I forgot to apply for global entry which it would be totally helpful for us, Can O still apply for it even if it was already been a year since I got it?
You may be able to access the Card through your Capital One account that was setup, and from there activate the Priority Pass membership. Appreciate you watching Paul!
Great informative video. I am new to the credit card game. I was wondering with authorized users, when they use the card, the amount they swiped will show up on my statement and I have to pay it back? How does it work exactly?
Yes so you can have multiple bank accounts linked to your Account in terms of paying your statement. But yes you are correct in that all spending even on the authorized user card will show up on that statement. Let me know if that makes sense. Thanks Paul!
@@newagain9964 usually I don't even feel a need to call cause it's a few dollars In fact, it's more often the best price I can find than a price I need to match What's the limit? It's gotta be multiple thousands per ticket cause I've never had a problem
I'm definitely considering the card, but I dont know how good their hotel portal is. Can you do a video showing price comparisons between the VX portal and Amex or Chase's?
Great video on the VX! I just got approved for the card a few days back, and this information is definitely very beneficial for me to make the best decisions when first using the card! One big question though: would it be wise to use the travel credit when I am still working on the welcome bonus? I don’t think that the travel credit would factor into the $4K spend requirement, but I figured this would be nice to know.
I think you could pretty seamlessly use the Travel Credit either way whether during that spend requirement period or after, but like you said a good thing to note is that the Travel Credit would not factor into the spend. Thanks for watching!
The Venture X is overrated to me, especially the hype behind it. In my opinion, a better alternative is the Truist Enjoy Beyond, or what I would call it, the Venture X on a budget, with only a $195 annual fee. A better alternative for someone like myself.
I feel similar to the hype of the amex platinum and gold cards. Not every card will fit your lifestyle. Im frugal as hell so while that $195 AF seems enticing, it doesnt offer 2x catch all (I already have a 3% dining card) nor $300 credit alongside the annual $100 credit. It just seems like a paper weight after you get your free global entry membership.
The difference seems to be the rewards you get. I see the Truist only gives 2X on airfare, hotels and rental cars. Additionally it only gives 1X on everything else. The Venture X gives 10X on hotels and rental cars, 5X on airfare, and 2X on everything else. Add to that $300 travel credit every year, 10,000 miles every year starting on your first anniversary, and free Global Entry and TSA precheck every 4 years (or each renewal). The Venture X is really for people that want to rack up miles for free travel which I understand isn't everyone.

If you apply for and receive Global Entry, you get TSA Precheck for free.
would the card holder be the only one to have global entry and/or TSA pre or would their authorized user be able to use this as well?
Good to know- thanks!
@@jordanxmbr For the VX, only one person on the account. So either the account holder or one of the AUs, but not more than one.

Yes you can use your TSA Pre-Check Credit on whichever application you want, it doesn't have to be for yourself. Thank you!

Yes you absolutely can! Thanks for watching Gina!
I came across your channel today. Great videos and straight to the point.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate the kind words!
Great job on RUclips ❤
Thank you Vicki!
Good stuff Matt. I will have to rewatch if I ever go down the VX route. Thanks for the detailed information.
Thanks so much for watching Jon!
when I add a user to my account, Do I still get points when they spend?
Great review, fun data point, the VIP lounge in terminal B in the Punta Cana airport (affiliated with Priority Pass) has an outdoor pool!😂
Oh wow! Good to know! That's a sick PP Lounge haha. Thanks for watching Ryan!
Just curious, I got approved for the Venture X and am waiting for my physical card. How do I start the priority pass process? Can anyone help? Thanks

The portal is my favorite perk
With the Chase portal I have to consider if my 1.25 CPP is actually what it looks like
Here it's always the best price
The Capital One Portal is super nice with all those features for sure. Appreciate you watching!
Only best price when/if you find out AND claim price benefit. Even then there’s a limit cap1 will payout

Easily one of my fav cards. Good features and simple to get value from.
Agreed! Thanks Darius!
Capital1 for MLB baseball tickets for 5,000 points is chefs kiss
Using Points for fun experiences like that is unbeatable!! Thanks Key!!
So every year I have to pay $395 for annual?
Correct!
When considering the $395 price don't forget the perks/offsets that they give you.
I'm definitely considering the card, but I dont know how good their hotel portal is. Can you do a video showing price comparisons between the VX portal and Amex or Chase's?
I ask because you need to spend $300 for the annual credit, and which is only good via their portal.
Does that work for google pay?
