Excellent video!! I actually might’ve had an issue with the throttle body on my 2003 Camry as well. Almost a month ago, I went to Auto Zone to get oil for it (my Camry burns oil, especially since I drive it on the Interstate to work everyday) and when I got back to my car, it would start but then stall out less than 2 seconds later. Engine did seem to run if I started it while having my foot on the gas pedal and revving it but would stall out after I released the gas pedal. So what I ended up doing few days later was cleaning the throttle body and MAF sensor with a throttle body cleaner and MAF sensor cleaner (both throttle body and MAF sensor were dirty and had this black carbon buildup or something like that). So far the car has been starting well and haven’t had the engine stall on me after starting it

I also cleaned the throttle body this past summer ( ruclips.net/video/JXHuq6jJ8og/видео.html ) and it seemed to help but when the temperatures changed and I would drive it when it was cold in the mornings I would step on the gas pedal and it would feel really sluggish coming up to speed. I did some research and found out that with these electronic throttle bodies the gears/motors get worn out and don't like to operate quite right when cold. This Camry also burns oil...about 1 quart every 400 miles. I am still collecting data and troubleshooting this and have a repair planned for this next spring/summer.

Great video. I need to clean the TB due to the sticky throttle.

I would recommend cleaning it first and if that doesn’t resolve your issue then think about replacing it.

Great Video, keep going. After replacement, does it need to remap ECU or no need ?

I probably won't be doing that type of repair but I did come across this video that may be helpful. ruclips.net/video/F994QmOD6W8/видео.html

Valve cover gasket or head gasket? I just did the valve gasket on my 2006 Camry. Replaced the very brittle gasket to address oil leak right at the cover/head. $20 for OEM Toyota part.

What was the reason you replaced the throttle body? Did you have any engine codes?

    • @InsaneOil

No engine codes. On cold mornings I would press the accelerator and it would take anywhere from 3-10 seconds to feel like the engine kicked in. Basically, it was old and slow to respond on cold days. Switched it out and it responds immediately.

@@InsaneOil Thanks for the response. Yeah mine runs well until it's warmed up. Once warmed up it still runs well under acceleration, but it has a low rough idle when I come to a stop. I have no engine codes. I think I will try removing it and give it a thorough cleaning.
