WOW, absolutely amazing how people design tools for certain jobs. Those tools you have there, I never even knew something like that existed. Absolutely chuffed it all worked out for you in the end. You're now my therapist Norm, very relaxing watching all these videos. Thanks for sharing it all. Really looking forward to seeing you out and about on your travels on her when she's all done.
Hi Shaun, yes I was the same…just have to take a deep breath 😮💨 and hope there is a way out….my next problem is that I slipped the seat on and sat on the bike for the first time 😱. Why didn’t I think of that before I took it apart 🤔. Cannot reach the floor. Now where is the chain saw 🤯
Over the moon for you norm brilliant job should torque up great 👌 hopefully all goes smooth from now on and have it up and running for the start of the season Steven
Well Done Norman !!! Never thought you get that out. Been waiting hour by hour with baited breath for episode 18. Really chuffed for you 👍👍👍 Maybe the threads have just been stripped out through being siezed. Anyway, great news. Seems my Comments on ep 17 were over pessimistic. Cheers Roj
Av been Hgv mechanic fair few years now av got a aray of tools for getting stuff out av never had any joy with thoes. A bet you felt sick when it snaped. Am so glad ya got it out.
Normski yes 100% understand that but end of the day ya sorted it. A would Defo recomend anyone buying any of your bikes you have looked after. Am looking forword to service my bike just not had time to do it yet got boat load of bits to put on
Glad this worked out for you, I’ve got an 04 GS and my number one issue is rusty immovable threads had to be very careful and creative getting things off.
PS - Now you can get on with your oil change 😂😂😂 incidently Norman, not sure what you use, but I've recently change my oil and used Shell Advance Ultra 10W40 4T...... . The difference is amazing. The engine and gearbox are noticeably much smoother, and quieter. And the old oil had only been a couple of thousand miles so its not like it was well used or diluted. Roj
Hi actually just catching up on your denali fuse box as I have umpteen cables going to the battery . But one change I'm making is to replace the rear light for LED it will be a relief not to be relying on one bulb especially when its on all the time. Just wondered if you'd seen it in your favourite shop. Cheers
Hi Norman, do you mean Motorworks or Nippy Norman’s. I bought the Denali fuse box from Nippy Norman’s, very nervous as electrics are a black art to me, but the fuse box is great. I have used 3 of the 6 fuses and just amazed that everything works perfectly 🥳.
Morning its like watching Casualty but more stressful but I love a happy ending . Well done it might run a bit better now. All these new things you're learning just think how its keeping the dementia away. Thanks for all the work filming. Are you gonna keep the bike after all this?
Hi Norman, yes I am planning to keep the bike but I have hit another major problem. Didn’t see this one coming. Slipped the seat on and sat on it for the very first time and I can hardly reach the floor😢
@@normski3091 Oh i'm 5' 8" and fine with my 1100gs , did you ride your sons bike ? Can you adjust the rear shock as sometimes they're set really hard? I was going to say that the gs was the only other bike as comfy as my old RT. Good luck.
Hi Norman, yes I have never had a problem with riding a GS. The Adventure yes. Got my IAM mate Geoff to bring up his brand new 2022 1250GS for me to sit on. Absolutely perfect 😍. Watch next Monday 😱
@@normski3091 I bought an 850 gs once from down south and the guy said he found it uncomfortable . It had a koni shock on it at its hardest setting and I had the same problem. Unfortunately you could only adjust it by taking it off. You could tell the missus you need a new gs.
In my decades of maintenance, I changed what must be 1000+ spark plugs, in cars , motor cycles, mowers and airplanes, I never seen a plug break like this. Even with newer cars where they are good for 160,000km. My suspicion is someone made a bad mistake . Either they cross threaded it , over torque it and not use anti seize compound or it was badly made counterfeit parts.
Well done Norman! As a (much) better alternative to the tapered extractors, try Facom SXE.J7MGRPPB 7 Piece OGV Screw Extractor Set. Big advantage is that they are parallel, not tapered. I have used then to get broken bleed nipples out with great success, and you can use the shroud to eject the bit you have extracted... Best wishes to you.
Bloody hell .. not even my bike, I even know that it worked out,and yet I had sweaty palms watching you! Terrific job!
Great job, it’s always a pleasure to watch you work on your bikes
I don't know why this popped up in my recommended but it's pretty relaxing to watch, nice video!
Thank you Jacob 🤗
The thoughtful design of these tools combined with your skill Norm, has produced a much celebrated outcome . We can all sleep well tonight now !
One big hurdle over Graham…only to walk straight into another🤯…keep watching

Very soon I will be out for the first ride….just the minor issue of being able to reach the floor😱
@@normski3091 🤣
Patience of a Saint, Norman.
I'd have been reaching for the petrol and matches. 👍👍
Hi Rumien...I kept eyeing the gallon of petrol in the garage!
Phew - well done Norm, hopefully plain sailing from now on!
Well I thought it can only be easy from now on David…should have learnt my lesson….keep watching 😢
@@normski3091 oh no! Hope you get it all resolved
Hiya Norm. I’m looking forward to watching your video later. 🙋🏼🏍
That was AWESOME Norm Well done chap....and again thank you for sharing......
Thank you Phil. I wish I could say all the problems are over 🙏
Hi Norm, I'm really pleased that you got it out, keep the uploads coming.
Thank you David...thought I was doomed for a bit.
Wow, major relief! Well done, Norm! The bike is gonna have a new lease on life, with everything being done properly, and carefully by you.
Really enjoying your restoration journey.
Thank you Pete, I certainly bought a problem bike🥵
I've never been so anxious watching a video! Nicely done and thanks for sharing; hope I never need to do this but if I do, there's all I need to know!

Great work and patience Dr. Norm... Nice .. u can 💤 sleep
Absolutely Bonesworld I can sleep......wonderful. Until the next issue🤦🏼♂️
Great work norm, I’ve just cancelled my doctors appointment now we’ve fixed that. 🤦♂️👍
Ha ha Graham…well more anguish to come so keep that appointment flexible👍
Great work Norm.
So pleased you got this sorted! It’s amazing what clever tools are out there we don’t know about
Hi Lee…I never knew either of those existed 🤷🏼♂️
Absolutely superb video and glad it worked out. Your videos are really informative, thanks for making them.
Hi Mark, one of these days something will not work out...now trying to work out how I can grow a couple of inches so I can reach the floor!
Over the moon for you norm brilliant job should torque up great 👌 hopefully all goes smooth from now on and have it up and running for the start of the season

Thanks Steven….wish I could say that the worst is all behind me, but turn another corner and bang…something else seized solid😤

With you there Zero…never had so many seized bolts🥵
good job, nervewrecking but lady luck is on your side
Definitely buy a lottery ticket this week!! 😂
Brilliant well done.
So far so good Yughill, but whenever I say that something else jumps at me🙀
I use nickel anti-seize on the threads. Not the cheap stuff, but the nickel compound. Also, the spark plugs were probably tightened too tight.

Thank you Roj, I will go out and check what oil I ordered🤔
Castro Power 1 15-50 is what Nippy Norman’s suggested and I have used.
Good job well done....try pushing down clockwise instead of pulling up...hopefully wont be a next time tho..
