Many years ago I worked in the restaurant of a prominent and well known hotel chain here in the greater Detroit area. It was 15 minutes before closing time, the restaurant was empty, and everyone was getting ready to wrap up their shift for the day. Low and behold we saw a rather large party in the main lobby and they were heading towards us. Obviously this meant that some of us were going to get stuck and have to do some overtime; what a drag! As soon as we identified a certain member of that party some of us were stepping up and volunteering to stay. After some contemplating two of our staff were chosen to take care of these people. It was Gordie Howe & his wife with a few others.
Wow, that was really cool! I remember one of my friends was at a party (sadly I wasn't there) last decade, and Nick Lidstrom happened to be at the party. Although our world is quite large, there are times where it feels quite small. Thanks for sharing this!
I didn't know it was. The last I heard is that they were planning to tear down the Palace which is a shame because I believe it was built the same year I was born.
I've read somewhere that you fund these little trips with your job in the field of IT. I'm really interested in that field, and I'm wondering what exactly you do? If it's not too personal of course! Great videos, left a like :)
No worries! I am both a system admin for the company I work for as well as an infrastructure architect. It is keeping me busy during the week! Luckily I am able to film these videos during weekends or during vacations. Thanks for watching!

Hey Man. thanks for sharing that. It was a great arena. I had the 3 oclock free preview slot. Very pleased with the outcome.
You are welcome. I was quite impressed with the arena, and I am glad I was able to attend the free preview. Thanks for watching!
You look so much like a j-vlogger i used to watch before he passed away in 2010. Hes also a Michigan native and a WMU grad. Rodger Swan
Very interesting! It's sad to hear that he passed away!

I got a red wings shirt on right now beleve it or not scott
Awesome! I don't have one right now, but I should consider getting one if I go to a Red Wings game sometime.
This guy looks exactly like Gus Johnson!?!?
I haven't heard that one yet, but back when I had the mustache, I remember people saying that I looked like Tom Selleck, at least a little bit.
Really nice interior, but man the outside looks but ugly. From the outside it looks like a brick building from the 50's
The outside, I feel, isn't too bad, but I agree that they could have done more for the outside.
So you would have preferred a 15 story silver spaceship? Giving it an old-time feel was the point. I think it's unique, beautiful and well done.
Detroit is crim or somthing
