Watched FortNine with Helite Turtle 2... and it does a much better job for head and neck, which also extends down below the rib cage, compared to what I see wit the Tech-Air 3. I'm going to invest in the Turtle.. probable the mechanical version.
I don't know why but it seems no brand is offering a good (street use) airbag protection other than helite. my helite turtle comes with a an insanely big and thick back protector, and it inflates much better than this one, especially below the neck area, not to mention it covers more areas, yes, it looks ugly and awkward, especially if you're short, but it's the protection that is important. I'll stick to the mechanical helite for the street, and an integrated tech-air system for the track.
@@Pmason718 you don't need one to reach this conclusion just compare it with the turtle 2 vest for instance as both are intended for street riding. the Helite includes a huge oversized back protector that covers your whole back, not to mention it's CE L2, compare that to ohh wait, it doesn't even come with a back protector, and even if you can fit one, I doubt it's the same size as the helite. also, compare the inflation size, this vest didn't inflate much around the neck, while the Helite inflation is so high that it reaches your helmet
@@Pmason718 ohh, I was talking about the tech 3, the tech 5 has better inflation and protection overall. still, definetly the helite has better back protection but it I would still consider the tech 5 if I want to wear a vest underneath my jacket
Hello, Which system you would recommend in hot south Florida, wearing only over or under a t-shirt, street use only. I am Looking for descent protection under $1000, not tethered version and something that I don't need to send back to re-charge. Thanks!
Not tethered and not something you’d need to send back to repack, under $1000 your only options are the Helite H-Moov Electronic backpack, and the Alpinestars Tech 7x. The Helite is just a backpack which will solve the over/under but won’t protect you under 15mph unless you buy the fork sensor (not available in the US). The Tech Air 7x is under only, but has all the other bells and whistles people love Astars airbags for, while still meeting your other requirements. The Tech Air 3 will meet most of your requirements, but still needs to be sent back to Astars for repacking.
@@RevZilla How about the Klim AI-1 or Rally? I know the rally version is more sophisticated, but it comes only a few dollar extra and you’re getting a lot more .

Came here to say this too! I think one of the things I am most interested in is how it interacts with the helmet and protects the neck.

That is currently available in the US market, yes. Astars has been teasing an off-road version for a few years but has yet to come to market with it.

Yeah, you can see during the deployment that the airbag runs up and around the neck to reduce injury.
