Hmm, now that you did an episode on the benefits of psychology, will you do an episode on the harms of psychology. Surely, consumer psychology has done many harms.

Thanks for the information! I really hope there can be a more widespread understanding of the practical effects of psychology among the general public, especially in my country Vietnam where psychology is underdeveloped and studying psychology is a path that most students would never consider

I would so like to see more psychology from Vietnam! Thanks for your feedback. I hope to visit there someday soon.

People are unaware of how [comparative] cognitive psychologists study and have helped in areas of captive animal welfare, conservation, biology and pet enrichment. So many people are blown away when they learn that psychology is involved in any way when it comes to working with wildlife, pets, livestock and conservation. I would not mind assisting on a video for that subject.

I agree with most of these benefits but I think helping business make people buy stuff they don't need isn't exactly good for the rest of us.

🍎Though, I'd have picked a 🍍so people can't make a claim that you're advertising the one that bit the apple.

Many psychology interventions are good, but influencing advt thru psychology strategy is not advisable and encouraging

Depends on the purpose of the advertising, I guess. What if it’s for a way to stop smoking or improve health?

A psychotherapist helped Rachmaninoff overcome his morbid fear of failure after the bad reception of his first concerto, hail that guy and his therapy.
And anyone considering being a parent could help the child immensely by learning basic child development psychology.

While I may have been at least somewhat aware of many of the items this brought them into focus in a very coherent and easily digested format. Good value for time spent. That said, I can't find the apple emoji and am emoji averse anyway so.
Re #6: I've always suspected that marketing psychology, as in promoting goods and political preferences, is strongly funded and likely represents the cutting edge in understanding our subconscious "buttons". As such that would be a fascinating field to be involved in. On the other hand, most of it is used nefariously to manipulate people contrary to their best interests. In this video's title, you do qualify the list as those which have "changed" our world, not which have necessarily made it better, which most of the list have. Marketing psychology in general is one I believe has not.
