Caravana did this and sold alot of cars ahead of getting the title. So many consumers waiting months for the title or getting the wrong car/title. No one got arrested at Carvana. because you can't arrest a corporation.
Fun fact: Corporations are made up of people that are criminally responsible for said corporation. There's literally no such thing as a corporation without at least 1 human that is named as the responsible party.
Actually Craig isn't smart enough to know what's going on.This isn't about title delays ,or just waiting on a title and selling the car first. This is about money not being be paid paid off. It's a Ponzi scheme in the works. Not siding with Carvana ,but it's a different scenario
Then you check it for a watermark to make sure its real. Check its even for that car, confirm no lien is on it, make sure whose name its in is the person selling and signing it over to you.
The auctions should mail titles overnight once the car is paid . No exceptions . Someone need to fix this asap . If Copart and IAAI can provide titles same day , so can all auction houses
Buy it if you plan to drive slow/block traffic and wobbly, buy it if you plan to deal drugs, buy it if you plan to drive drunk, buy it if you plan to always use a paper plate forever.....
It's funny how in some states you can shoplift, use drugs, or be a man and go pee in the little girls restroom and not get arrested or even confronted by the police..... But in New Hampshire you can't be late transferring a car title.
Putting people in jail booking them plastering their pic all over basically convicting off of an accusation is so Fucked up! Before one day to defend themselves their name is trashed and you NEVER get bail money nor reputation back!! ALL MISDEMEANOR CRIMES SHOULD BE PRIVATE UNTIL CONVICTION AT LEAST!
The 2nd car I ever sold was a Jk Jeep. I bought it on Floorplan. I was $2000 into recon, listed it for sale, and sold it within a week. Paid off the floorplan, title absent. We have 60 days. It was literally day 46 before the title showed up. I was 💩 bricks!!!!
In NY, the owner holds the title not the bank. However there are leins listed on the title and a lein release is required. Im a mechanic at a new car dealer. I bought a clean 1 owner high mileage trade in. Had to wait over a month for a lien release because the bank he had it financed through doesn’t clear online and never sent him a lien release although it was payed off for 4 years. Same thing. Was told i cant buy it because the title with lien release had to be submitted within 10 days.
Thank You Craig! I just bought a 1-owner, mint 04 Cayenne Turbo 94k miles from an elderly business owner for $20k !! Yes, I could’ve bought a cheaper, newer one but 1st Gen Turbos in this condition are rare. If it wasn’t for your Cayenne Turbo videos (both the recent one and 5 yr old one) I wouldn’t have considered it! I even did the 08 taillight mod u recommended ! You the man! This is a Beast!
Also people get SCARED when they don't have the title. Give them a color photocopy of the existing title that you are sending in. That plus the bill of sale might make them feel better
Private party title jumping is a huge issue. Unsuspecting buyers can potentially be purchasing a vehicle from someone who is not authorized to sell it. Say the actual owner is out of town, in the hospital etc, upon their return they contact law enforcement about a "stolen vehicle". Now the new owner is in a lot of trouble. I've never bought a title jumped vehicle.
Towards the end, totally agree Craig. Annoying you're at the mercy of others not doing their job. I waited a year for a title when I just wanted to sell my car. Due to government, police and registry incompetence I lost a lot of time and money out of the process
I don't know how NH is but, when I did Finance in Illinois we had the Illinois Secretary of State Police. All they did was drive to dealers and do Tax Form and Temp Tag Audits. It was a fine if they weren't voided properly or you couldn't account for them. They would also go to customers' houses and pay a visit if they wouldn't produce a title within I think 60 days. The one that was for our district was a total 10 so, I never minded her stopping by!
JTS Auto and Iselltrux Both these dealers are scumbags. Just look at there business reviews. Shady business practices for months well before they were arrested.
That makes alot of sense and I know of atleast one of the dealers on there. Last year I bought an Impala to fix up from a dealer in Manchester, NH and they told me the title would mailed out and be there in a week. A week went by and no title. I had one of the managers contact me through email following up. Let him know everything went well overall but still didn't have the title yet. The car was drivable at that time so I was playing the hurry up and wait game. He was cool and got it overnighted to me the next day. I'll admit I would have been rather pissed if I got everything fixed and waited on the title. I can see the mistakes but it would be wrecking with peoples livelihoods.
In my opinion, title jumping is the root of the problem here. Craig waves it off as a common practice, and dealers may legally title jump in some states, but it’s a crime everywhere if an individual does it. If dealers didn’t jump titles as a standard operating procedure, there would never be a reason to bust a state title transfer deadline. I won’t buy a car with an open title - I assume all the risk as a buyer.
Well, theres rules and ppl gotta follow em! My boss waited 3 months for his from Carvana. Why they not arrest them lol? He couldnt even legally drive it for like a month.
This happened to me twice in the last few years. I bought a used Toyota Tacoma from a dealer in Austin, TX about 3 yrs ago. It took about 3 months to get title and that was after I complained to the state. Dealer claimed title was held up by the auction. The 2nd time was buying a new jeep from a dealer in Castle Rock, CO. They had the jeep transferred from another dealer in the state. They claimed the other dealer lost the title and the had to get a new one issued. Both times, the dealers kept issuing new paper tags each time they expired even tho state law says it’s illegal to issue additional paper tags. I would’ve enjoyed seeing someone arrested but I guess TX and CO don’t do that
A lot of "but here, pay here" dealerships illegally sell a car, never put the title in the buyers name with them as a lien holder. Instead, they just hold the title so if they repo it, they don't have to do any paperwork.
If the bank offers the ability to overnight that title, pay for it!! Some banks just drop the title in the us mail, which can get lost in the mail, no tracking.
I know dealers that would use monies that was supposed to be used for title transfer for other things and at times they would go beyond the allotted days given to transfer title.
In Texas it is against the law to "skip title". A dealer must title a vehicle in order to sell it. I know because I was involved in this process just 54 weeks ago.
My lot always passed inspection other than maybe faded ink on a price sticker from the car sitting too long. Craig is awesome, but I wish he would have spent more time explaining why this law exists. The reason the State takes the absence of titles seriously is because if a dealership takes a customer's money and doesn't give them a title, then the dealer has not conveyed ownership to that customer. Without a title, the car (which the customer just traded a lot of their money for) is worthless to the customer. That is basic consumer fraud. I can tell you from experience that customers were very attracted to the cars I had marked, "Not ready for Sale" (if I did not have a title). I'm sure Craig knows exactly what I'm talking about, regarding that. People want to buy what they cannot have.
I lived in Chicago Illinois. And the state allows 6 months to provide a title. Then they can get a extension from the state to add another 6 months. So yeah a year you have to wait for a title sometimes. So 12% for city and state tax. On top of what you need 😂.
Where I live I can go and buy a car and own it at the same day, just some mouse clicking and typing on the computer from the dealership or private person required. The massive hassle to just buy a car in the USA is amazing. But most of USA is paper driven. In 15-20 years it will probably be digital.
Hi Craig of Flying Wheels all that you explained about the title issue are what you should be asking the Troopers about to get a clear answer from them because i see how it can hamper you from sales and then put you in trouble with the said law that does not take in account the delays in the issuing of titles if for any reason it goes against normal operations i have learnt a lot looking at your show keep up the good work
I just paid cash for a 2018 Silverado LT Z71 crew cab. The dealer took a loss on it as he had it for over 8 months. He showed me what he paid for it and then he paid to transport it from VA to PA so it has no rust. kind of high miles. 148k miles. New transmission on carfax at 110k, new oil pump at 140k. I got it for 15k cash plus tax, tags, transfer. and the dealer paid like almost 18k for it plus transporting it to PA. It looks like that white one you have there but yours looks like a double cab.
It's called Jumping titles! This has been going on for many decades where you buy a vehicle from XYZ and have them leave the title open by just signing in the seller name and leaving rest of the title blank. In N.H., Arizona and a few other states where there is no sale tax is not as big of a deal to do this correctly by signing the title over to an individual having them get a new title in there name, ect for less then $100.00. Otherwise this could cost you in lets say Massachusetts or any other state that has sales tax for the same vehicle over several thousand $ where you have to pay sale tax only to get a new title in your name to resell. Anyone on the first 5 vehicles can do this then the state will require you to apply for a use car dealer license, dealers Insurance coverage, a Surety Bond where it varies from state to state as to the amount needed in your state. There other expenses in getting a Use Dealers Tag to buy and sell as many vehicles you want to sell in a year.
I remember from prior videos you guys are talking about how cars need to be inspected and you guys have to sell cars cheap without inspections. In Iowa we don’t have to deal with that a lot of these cars at auctions and your videos. In Iowa they would be ready to run for several miles we use rust as weight reduction also I want to add that many of the car crashes in our state are not because the car was mechanically deficient it’s driver error
Another reason to move to FL you can sell a car without having the title. Customer signs a POA and when you get the title from auction or whatever you have 30days after the sale to submit the title work.
@@raygunn1083 not sure if its new, but im a new dealer in Florida and if you sell a car that on floor or title is still absent at auction you can still sell the car and have the customer sign a power of attorney so when you do get the title your dealer agent can sign the title on their behalf.

So what happens when the customer does not have the title when they sell it to you? What if the title has a lien on it and the bank won’t send the title for 15 business days, or a duplicate title is needed and the state takes weeks to months to get the title sent?
CRAIG !!!! You are kind of misleading your viewers.Either get to the meat of the issue ,or don't make a video about it. This has nothing "basically" to do with supplying a title on time to new buyers. I feel as you are making your viewers think that all is good with these guys ,and the titles are just hung up in limbo with being processed by the lien holders. I know a New Hampshire dealer that is consistently over a month sometimes with titles ,and rarely does he pay a fine ever. This has everything to do with the dealers in question not having funds to pay off said liens ,on the cars they resold.Once authorities realize the cars have been resold without pending lien payoffs in the works you have a Ponzi scheme.. That's it..Nothing more ,nothing less
I think the state has too much time on its hands I mean did these dealers go over by one day over 10 or 30 days over ! Come on New Hampshire why arrest someone for a simple infraction?
They're actually decent work trucks. Had an 2005 for 4 years, commuted daily, put 60k miles on it and it never left me stranded. Still sold it for what I bought it for. More American parts in that truck than the big 3 😂
@robertromero8094 I've had two of them, one I still have. Both of them have been fantastic. The current is a tow rig, when it gets used, it's getting USED.
@Chad_Thundercock_ good for you I had multiple friends with one that had many major problems. One had a leak in the seal for the transmission. They don't sell just the seal had to buy a whole new transmission for a simple issue. Lucky you friend
20 year old cars changing hands in Connecticut do not require a title...a lot of older cars here change hands with only a bill of Sale, and the State does NOT issue a new one.
I traded in a car with a balance the dealer was to pay off. Well he screwed up and forgot to pay it off and my former lender put me out for collections because the payments were missed. It messed up my credit rating for six months until I threatened to Sue the dealer who then called the credit bureau to get it straightened out. Oh by the way he sold the car with out a title a got a large fine from the state. Lesson here ,make sure you check that dealer really pays off old loan!

Craig…I just found your channel. It’s refreshing to see an honest car dealership. Keep up the good work.
Odd that the state puts a deadline on dealers, but don’t put a deadline on banks, and don’t put a deadline on themselves for processing a title.
thats what he was trying to say, Ive thought for years the rules are discrimitnatory against dealers and auctions dont care about the delays.
As a consumer, I'm not buying a used vehicle unless the seller can show me the title.
I learned that the hard way
Then you check it for a watermark to make sure its real. Check its even for that car, confirm no lien is on it, make sure whose name its in is the person selling and signing it over to you.

Because the consumer has just spent thousands of dollars on a car they don't own and can't legally register/drive
Stop breaking the law. Pretty simple
How can an auction sell something without a title?
That red Titan has been in the background for many videos. How long have you had it?
Why doesn’t it sell?
Its a Nissan Titan.
They're actually decent work trucks. Had an 2005 for 4 years, commuted daily, put 60k miles on it and it never left me stranded. Still sold it for what I bought it for. More American parts in that truck than the big 3 😂
Just cause you got lucky dont mean everyone else did. @hg2blackcat411
How can you reassign a title without collecting sales tax??? That's illegal in Florida!!!
Take a drink 🍸 every time he says title..
love you life is something to love
It doesn't make any sense they made it so public if he only did it one time. DMV has a vested interest in the dealer selling more cars.
Dealers playing the float of money
Since when is this an arrest able offense?
Craig what are you still doing in New Hampshire - RUN! You can be next 😁
New Hampshire looks like such a beautiful place to live❤❤
It is. I regret moving away. Mountains and lakes all are breathtaking.

Carvana is infamous for this, as well as carmax and others
