This movie is truly a work of art! So complex and so strong.. I had to watch it several times because of each layer I got to dissect from each watch. Respect! Thank you for making this movie! And I hope to see more 🥰

If they ever do a another Fast & Furious spin off with Roman Pearce and Tej Parker, Antoine Fuqua would be so perfect to direct.

Much props to this director. Not many films released in 2021 held my interest to a fever pitch from start to end quite like this film did. One of the best of the year imo. Gillenhall not being in the oscar buzz is criminal.

Not fullt, but almost as good as the Danish original (I am swedish so, i almost fully understand the danish language) but I'm MORE than happy that the world gets to experience the same thrill! Well done ! Not a full 10 like the original, but a solid 8,5/10!

I liked the movie. It starts slow bc Mr. Fuqua is letting us get acquainted with the main character's current mental conditions combined with an unbalanced state of mind and chaotic personal life. At the same time, the viewer will have to use their observation skills to follow the story very closely.
This movie will require you to have an active imagination, which will be impossible if you are a braindead moron.

What's really interesting is watching Joe's attitude toward his callers from beginning to end. At first he's dismissive because he's distracted by his personal issues, but also he's very judgemental of the people who call in.
When Paul Dano calls in, he immediately knows how and why his briefcase was stolen, but he takes extra effort to put him on the spot, asking for extensive detail ostensibly for his report but mostly to embarrass the guy, and then he tells his sergeant to let the guy stew for a while. Paul Dano is guilty. He deserves it.
When the cyclist calls in, he doesn't even contact first responders, he just says, don't bike drunk, ahole, and hangs up. The cyclist is guilty. He deserves it.
When Bill Burr calls in... Well, honestly, I tend to think that's how every conversation with Bill Burr goes. He's from Boston, whaddyagunnado?
And when he's handling Emily, he tells his police buddies to break in without a warrant, because Henry is guilty and that's more important than ethics or process. When he helps her plan her escape, he tells her the same thing to convince her to brick him. Henry is guilty. He deserves it.
It's only when he discovers how skewed his understanding has been, when he realizes and admits that his judgemental attitude toward others put multiple people in danger, that he is able to look inward. Rather than project his anger onto others, he acknowledges his flaws and takes responsibility for the fallout.
That in turn opens the floodgates and allows him to see his culpability in the death of that young man. He completely reverses his intentions and is able to let go of that anger a little bit.

Neat, I'd like to see average people vs. actors be used in these Netflix productions someday; the people will create the content they want to consume

Yes, because we don’t get to watch random everyday people enough, we need thirty more reality shows with all their ‘realism’ to entertain us into oblivion…I would like to keep some professionals in the mix. Americans, contrary to their own beliefs cannot do everything themselves, they are not nearly interesting enough.
