I fail on a lot of categories because of age. For example, I can kick ass in the unlikely event that my assailant is a fellow senior citizen but my score declines rapidly as he gets younger. I think there should be curve for this category. I think you also need to include scores based on threat levels. My security practices are attuned to my environment. I don't walk around in a state of oblivion but I also don't walk around like I am on the President's security detail either. And I avoid Chicago like the plague. You can look at your phone on occasion if you made sure that there isn't anyone who can close on you in the time it takes look. It has a camera. You can use that to your advantage in a countersurveillance situation.
@@JustonianInstitute I have a GSD and a Rottie myself. Great watchdogs, but I dont trust them to be true guard dogs since they have no training specific to that.

I will begin with a scientific hypothesis based on your initial question, but before watching the video, of having a 3/10. I was going to say 1/10 but I remembered I have blades, anti-virus software and some combat training. So I figured... +2.
Slightly above 25%... Not bad. I think that translates to .4 under my prediction. Good prediction! Could be better at security. Interesting thing about psychopaths, they can feel fear and depression. They just don't recognize threats well, so can expose themselves to reckless dangers in ways which seem fearless. At least so says some theory on the subject...
More or less, when less is more. Mmmm. Yeah. i just want to be a pillow princess. And stay in shape by eating the crumbs from his beard by running after Wind In His Hair my whole LIFE, omg, IKR.
Hmm, I might be too harsh on myself when scoring. I'm not a Navy SEAL, but 64? Damn! I'm not some dumb NPC that just runs toward the armored car barricade when things go poorly, sheesh.
65 year old former Marine... I was probably too generous with myself and got 56%. I think you accomplished what you wanted in this video, John. Too many of us feel like we can handle whatever comes without truly preparing for it.
Prepare preshmare. Most of his 'advice' are literally non-options for nearly everybody who doesn't have access to the enormous amounts of money and opportunity he has. He's talking about mastering a bunch of different martial arts, building yourself a well and off-grid energy supply, getting a degree in criminal psychology, and what essentially amounts to paying tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars to instructors for a bunch of specialized training. And I'm supposed to do this on top of holding a job to afford all the other shit that he suggests, I guess. Coupled with him giving himself all these high scores this comes across as just an opportunity to humblebrag.
@Finhactic your coming at this from the wrong direction. Were old as dirt senior citizens. We are seeing the train coming and are preparing not to get run over! We work 3 jobs. We've decided to start organizing our lives as in the examples given. You have to start somewhere. Start with home security as best you can. Buy a couple preps each time you go to the grocery store. Are we physically able to do the hand to hand combat? No but we own the great equalizers. Weapons. Glean out what you could start with. This quiz was supposed to be fun and humorous with a bit of inspiration thrown in
Exactly my thoughts. Also I live in Canada so, carry is not an option here other than say a shotgun under the seat in a pickup. Without using John as a reference I likely would have scored myself in the 70s but when John gives himself a 3 in physical fitness I gave myself a 1. ended up mid 40s.
@@panpiper That is the sign of a true prepper. There is always something you can do better. Assuming you are good or better than you are, is the first step to failure.
The person who honestly gets "5" across the board is likely the type of person who spent so much time prepping to survive they lost track of what they're surviving for.
Or a guy living in his moms basement playing survival video games saying "I got this John!!" Mean while he is screaming up the at the stairs. "MOM CAN YOU CUT MY PIZZA IN SMALL SQUARES FOR ME WHEN YOU PULL IT OUT OF THE OVEN??" And I'm out of cool aid..😂

I love this. I was explaining to my wife how to fly a helicopter and fighter jets etc, the other day, and she didn't even question my expertise, even though she knows I've never done any of that! ROFLOL!
Playing call of duty and living real life action situations with unknowns are two different things. Practical experience is a good teacher, like the range, self defense classes etc.. You can never be too prepared, as Afghanistan just showed us with the loss of 13 active service men.
Dang! I am so ashamed of myself! I'm surprised that, with my score, a girl scout didn't mug me!!! 😭 John, you better do a followup and go point by point and discuss how we can improve our scores so we don't all just curl up and die!!! 🤣 But seriously, thank you for the eye opener! I've got some serious work to do!!!
Getting old sucks. Can’t run like I used to, darn I can’t do anything like I used to. My brain says we can do this and my body says don’t you dare. Scored a 54. Thanks John. RLTW
It is how you balance your age; I know I can't do BJJ at my age (two bad knees, bad shoulder, etc), because important body parts will start flying off. But I can do Filipino Martial Arts with the majority of my training in blades, empty hands, and footwork. My FMA style (just started training in what I call "Old Man Silat" with my instructor, very nasty) emphasis is carrying at least three blades, one on strong side, one on weak side, and a neck knife. Guess what, that is part of my EDC now, along with a pistol (or two, depending on where I am going). Realize your weaknesses and balance them in another area. If you can't run, then walk/hike. If you need to get flexible/stronger/more endurance; do yoga, just call it Tactical Combat Conditioning and Stretching if someone sees you doing it. 😁 There is always going to be someone younger, stronger, faster, etc regardless of how young or how old we are.....Always remember: "Age and treachery will overcome skill and youth."
I have had a very active life, running, climbing, hiking, shooting, contact sports etc. At nearly 70 carrying a lot of old injuries/health issues. My emphasis is on maximum efficiency with minimum effort. What I could do in my 30s, 40s and 50s is not available to me now. Though I still shoot a little. would like to see an assessment like this geared for those of us who are more senior in years it still pays to have goals.
One day years ago I was driving through town with my 10 year old son. As we passed a man jogging my son said “oh that poor man” I asked him why he said that and he responded “because he must have lost his drivers license “ I laughed and said what makes you think he lost his license? Without missing a beat he said “why else would a grown man be running along the side of the road “ lol hahalol I must have laughed for the next 10 blocks lol Of course my favourite quote of all time was also from his lips except he was about 16 or 17. Again he and I were driving through town when we both noticed two girls walking on the sidewalk. I asked him if they were in any of his classes at the high school. He said “ no way they’re only like 11 or 12”. I said your kidding right? Because I thought they had too much makeup and not enough clothes even for 17 year olds. That’s when he told me he calls them Prosta-tots lol hahahaha lol I almost wrecked the car I laughed so hard lol. I proceeded to teach all of my friends this new word and it’s meaning lol Now even my mother (70 years old) uses that word whenever she sees young girls like that lol It is absolutely hysterical though when MY grandmother, 93 years old uses it lol hahahaha lol Go ahead and use it and tell your friends as well lol. Its the perfect word for them isn’t it? Lol Prosta-tots lol
I got completely wrapped up in this video.... then I got mugged. Thanks a lot John. Note to self: no more watching videos on phone unless I'm in my safe room.

38% I'm actually feeling good about that since I just started taking this stuff seriously. I thought I was going to get a 5% or something. Great test, shows me exactly what I need to work on.
I would have had a pretty good score 20yrs ago. Since retiring, I have to win these things with my mind and conflict avoidance. Not cowardly, but choosing battles more carefully. Thanks John 😊
Agreed. Having a bad back has made me even more cautious because it doesn't take much of a jolt to put me on the ground so 4, 8, and 10 have had to make up for 3, 5, and 9 a lot.

I honestly think that this list would benefit from an additional category: cyber awareness. I mean it’s Great if you score a 100 on this test.. but you would be remissed if you excluded an entire domain of war. People should be aware of their online presence. As a cyber security professional I’ve seen all matter of attack vectors that can lead to actual compromises (accidental and malicious). Some top considerations:, social media behavior, password practices, internet browsing habits, VPN and firewall usage, This list can get extensive as I’m sure you know.
@@appalachianexploration5714 and yet facebook and google still have a full profile of you since you own a phone landline or otherwise. knowledge is so important.
@@appalachianexploration5714 Absolutely not. I'm a student in cybersecurity. I can find out so much information based on what someone posts on social media. Who your acquaintances are, your likely daily habits, what places you frequent, etc. Even more advanced techniques can be used to destroy/explode physical devices that connect to the internet. A decently skilled hacker could take over your network, disable your cellphone, and either listen in on or lock you out of your security system. Cyber is no joke.
3 Home Security 5 Guns and Blades 5 Hand to Hand 2 Fitness 4 Lifestyle 4 Self Reliance 3 Medical 5 Sit. Awareness 3 Fighter Mentality 3 Tactics This was great! I've got some work to do in fitness. I'm strong, dense, but fluffy and inflexible.
@@chriss8328 Good question. I've spent appx 20yrs training JKD Concepts, Kali/Silat, Thai, BJJ and Wing Chun. I'm weakest in BJJ because I started it the latest, only went to blue+3 stripes. But the only people that have ever given me trouble are other BJJ guys. I'm more than confident in my knife handling skills and disarming across all 5 sectors with blades or blunt ranged weapons. Comfortable with improvised weapons and environmental force multipliers. Have the footwork and skill sets to transition in and out of all 6 ranges of conflict. Have trained force on force, flow drills, and "surprise" drills and every variation of sparring you can imagine. I've taken pistol courses (not rifle though...). About the only thing I've never done is airsoft or like "shoot house" training.
Great video and well thought out self-evaluation method John. I think its a fairly good way to understand opportunities for security growth. I had a failing score of 60 and I agree with the evaluation. Time to get to work. Take care! Home Security: 3 (I have some but not all) Firearms and Blades: 4 (Carry even at home, not at work) Hand to Hand: 3 (A few years in Martial arts, have been in several street fights) Life Style and Choices: 3 (travel and spend time in med/high crime areas due to work) Fitness: 3 (practice cardio and strength training, need to do more) Self Reliance: 3 (live outside of town with two creeks and a lake on property, have preparations) Medical: 2 (carry and placed in key areas, but not fully trained) Situational Awareness: 3 (responsible for a security team so awareness is a must) Fighter Mindset: 4 (have been attacked, robbed, shot, been several car wrecks and fights) Tactics: 2 (need more formal training, I'm in Georgia and need to come to some of your classes)
Being an aviator automatically lower’s my physical fitness score to -20. However if anyone here who’s short of breath and needs to get picked up, I’ll be there in plus or minus 30 seconds.
I know it's sorta cliche at this point in post-apocalyptic media to have to "get to the choppa" and "escape the city", but if we ever see a real societal collapse I feel like knowing how to fly a helicopter would be an incredibly valuable skill to have.
It's refreshing to see someone who was involved in high speed, spec ops, action man stuff to be so humble and real with where he is. It'd be tempting to give yourself a 5 inal areas and most of us in public would probably believe it (some begrudgingly so). Hats off to your honesty and keep up the amazing work.
Those who are truly masters understand how much they don’t know. Their goal is to have students who are better than they are. If someone can’t explain what they teach in a way that can be understood they don’t understand the material.
I studied combat tactics and weapons most of my life until age 38. I've been an official instructor for a few short years. I consider myself still very formidable, healthy and athletic. I'm 52 now. How does one gain a good score in “Fighter Mindset” holding their own in fights while simultaneously keeping points in the “avoiding stupid people in stupid places” category? Haven’t been in too many sketchy situations and therefore haven’t gained experience in fighting. Training to fight was a separate category.
Some of it is from misspent youth or military service in combat or law enforcement/security/bouncer or a couple weekend shifts in a big city Emergency Room (shit happens and lately it is happening a lot in areas where it never has happened before). The mindset is a tough area to score yourself. I can imagine that the people John thinks are "5", they think they are only 3 or 4 themselves. In this category a 5 is a just out of reach destination on a never ending journey. A fighter mindset can be simulated in training but can only be verified in real world use.
Dude this test is BS. 50% helpful and then 50% straight BS. Which makes it 100% untrustworthy. Some of the things he attempts to quantify is so ignorant and one dimensional. How does a test like this fare with a 5 foot female with a handgun? She’s gonna fail most of the physical but why would it matter if she has a gun and is wise about it. I’ve always thought this guy was over the top with selling his “ninja skills” in awkward ways. To me it seems like he just needed to come up with a list that would frame buying simplisafe as a necessary item.
64. I need significant work in most of the "soft skills", physical fitness, self-sufficiency, hand-to‐hand skills. Always eye-opening to try to be honestly critical of yourself. Thanks for everything you guys do.
44% and I feel I was way too generous to myself (After reading the other comments: Time available, money, health, age, etc, all factor heavily) This test was perfect John! One thing it does is force us to reevaluate our readiness and show us where we lack and where we need to focus more attention.
52% I'm a 20 year old farmer and college student so I had high expectations for fitness, but recently I've been out of shape. The things I have; 9mm handgun, 50 rounds of ammo, IFAK, IIIA covert ballistic armor, Dive Knife, flashlight and lighter. I carry these all day every day, and never leave home with out them and my brain. I aim to be unkillable. Great work WPS!
Yeah, I'm in the worst shape of my life, well, aside from right after my bad accident when I was in a wheelchair for a year.. but actually, I was still in far better shape back then even.. ugh, I gotta get working on myself, big time!!
Knowing I scored a 58% was pretty disappointing. Knowing that nearly everyone that I know would score less than me made me feel like a pretty squared away individual. Any extra points for being a really good shot?
Be careful stay at your strongest and most comfortable at a distance do what you need to and have plans see what choke points are in that area and plan for the worst. And with a bit of luck and fight like hell. You may walk away. All you can do is your best. There is never a guaranty for tommorow.
John, I started preparing 10 years ago with first aid, weapons, ammo, survival gear, food & water. THEN I got old (71 female), thin (97lbs) & weak. I do train, carry concealed and practice situational awareness. In addition I never drive near bad, high crime areas or go out after dark. We all get old and must be cognizant of our limitations🤷🏼♀️
This past week my home caught fire and my family is living in a hotel temporarily which put a lot of these questions into action last week. That being said and with that mindset, I scored 60% and objectively think 70% and higher is where we should all aim to be.
Hope and pray that you and your family get back into your own home again, glad to hear it sounds like everyone is ok so that is a blessing in and of itself!
My age, at 63, is a limitation. It really begins to effect your endurance as you go grey haired. Still, I managed a 64 but would love a 75+ - home security is not a strong point for me, guns and blades is covered, hand to hand is rusty but not forgotten, fitness isn't perfect (but not horrible), lifestyle - I go where I go, self reliance - need more than a gas powered generator and we'll leave it at that, medical - I tended some gnarly wounds in gnarly places uncle sam sent me and still have those skills and most gear, sit awareness - never ever get lost in a distraction in public, fighter mentality - age limited but still hit the bag and God only knows how much I once loved a good fight, tactics - always plotting how to make a situational challenge into my advantage.
I would like to see one of these split into two groups .. situation and survival .. there is a BIG difference. Remember, in a survival scenario (society breaks down) we have an ample supply of trigger pullers but will be severely short on technological wizardry for things like comm's and logistics, etc. In the long game, it's not all about punching and shooting, in fact, those things become secondary. You won't have much reason to punch and shoot when you can't communicate and organize. Something to consider when crafting your next "security test". Thanks for the awesome video! .. always love your stuff. God Bless and stay safe out there!

I’m older. I’m a vet and was a firefighter/EMT as well, but I’m disabled now. So the only thing I really scored well on was situational awareness (probably because I’m being dragged into the 21st century kicking and screaming). I also have easy access to weapons everywhere in my home, plus i carry my weapon even in my home. I learned that little lesson from an old roommates son who was a cop up in a leftist state but i wont say which, hint; taxachussets. We were in the kitchen (more than fifteen years back now) and he said “what would you do right now if a gang came in ? You’d never make it to your gun.” Sitting on my nightstand. I thought for a moment and had to agree with him. I believe he wanted me to agree that us civilians dont need guns, but i just went and strapped mine on. Ive never taken it off since. Ive been a CWP holder for decades. So now I’m in a quandary. What exactly is my role in the events that are coming ? Do i walk point and take the first hit ? That’s cool, i took that oath, and it didn’t expire. I am willing to do anything in my power to save our country, and my people, but i just feel a bit lost.
My ability to make cogent, rational decisions in the face of fear and physical threat increases exponentially with a little bit of booze on board. Not enough to be drunk, but just enough to take the edge of that fear off.
On situational awareness: I was a long haul 48 state driver for 42 years. I am so engrained in the 360 view, I look both ways in my own home. At truck stops, I refused to walk between parked trailers, I walked in the light whenever possible, even at secure customer docks. I was not allowed to carry a weapon, but I carry myself with confidence and have talked a "few" tough guys out of a fight by not showing fear to them. Looking a dangerous person in the eyes can, and usually will disarm them enough to make them unsure they will win. I don't do very well in some of the other areas, but I know to not let my weakness be obvious. I enjoy your videos, and I like 4 of the 5 calibers, but would put .45 ACP in place of the 6.5 Creedmore, but, like you said, it is a personal choice. All of those rounds are more likely to remain available. I do like the .30.06, but do not see it as a round that can not be replaced by tactics and careful situational awareness preparation.
Only made a 75ish. Got some work to do here. I'll have to rewatch this a few times and reassess myself according to section and question. For my area, I'm good, but I could be better too. Thank you John for making use my brain for more than keeping my head round.. and my ears away from each other.
46%... and that seems too generous. Hand-to-Hand gives me the most concern, despite Judo in my younger along with regular scuffles with an older brother. Being generally fit and athletic for the first 30 years of life has probably lead to a false sense of security/ability now.
Between my time in Delta SEAL team 6 Ranger division and of course The Avengers I’m pretty sure I’ve got this… So I’ve been told that I haven’t actually done any of that… so an honest assessment puts me at about 50%.
I got a 56% but realizing that I will be going with the flow as some things happen down the road. Could definitely work on my endurance and hand to hand. Can't run due to injuries and deterioration but rely on my strength. Very good with thoughtfulness/awareness/analysis. Pretty much rely on my skill and the skill sets of friends. There are so many people who say they're coming to my house if shit hits the fan. If they don't have skills or bring anything to the table, I tell them they're not welcome.
71%. Medical, tactics, home security (no dog, got a deaf cat) hand to hand and situational awareness could all use some work. Always good to get a reality check.
Scored a 76. Home security, gun/knife, hand to hand, physical fitness, lifestyle scored pretty high.I do need to work on awareness and im working on the self sufficiency part. Just sold our house in the suburbs. I'm pretty solid on the medical but I would like to get some more training.
I scored low mostly due to health and disabilities...my wife, a Paramedic used to ask me why i have so many knives, provisions, and other unmentionables around the house but she no longer asks....she knows. lol
Almost one year later...I took this very seriously and I upped my score to 78% (from 66%). I feel very, very good about the improvement. I will continue to improve this score, and thank you John for motivating me to better ME.
That was fun. Currently in LE and former military dog handler for total of 25 years. My dept. is light years ahead in terms of training compared to other agencies. I took a hard look at myself and tallied 40 out of 50. So glad videos like this are made to continuously challenge myself to take care of my family.
I catch myself looking down at my phone when I stand in line and look at nothing but my home screen just to listen to the people around me...is that weird? lol
Yeah I haven’t sprinted in a long time haha. Just been lifting heavy and hiking with heavy packs for 6-10 miles twice a week. But yes watching people run makes me feel out of breath
@@SnackPack913 running in combat often happens in bursts. Run 100m to cover. Talk on the radio and set up counter ambush. Run 180m to next objective. Take down target building, set up security and re-evaluate. Run 60m to vehicle coming for support. Running in law enforcement is similar or is a long single sprint like 200 to 300m. If your baseline cardio is decent with good metabolic condition and great strength: your physical probably ain't gonna be your biggest limiting factor... in combat. Up close, being strong matters A LOT. Major in strength and minor in conditioning and you'll be ahead of 70% of your potential adversaries in that category.
I honestly scored 80%. I have a few areas to improve. One thing i think many people over look is gardening. Its definitely a critical skill for long term survivial. Yeah youre going to have to get advice from some tree huggers but having the knowledge of cultivating is critical when times get hard rather its personal financial struggle or global melt down. Every prepper/survivalist needs to know how to grow their own food and use the produce to care over to the next season. No one ever talks about this.
Hey, what's wrong with being a tree hugger? I generally like trees more than people. Trees are useful, quiet, and are usually pleasant to be around, unlike some people. :P
Dunn & Kruger come to mind immediately. This test makes me feel like a snail without a shell. An old snail without a shell. My only bright spot is I have three Malinois besties (or malagators over 80 lbs) that are ever in site. An my home is preped
If they were doing it like a Fallout character they would end poorly, just consider how some can run for 100km or swim from France to England which would be probably considered 10/10 on Fallout endurance scale and then compare it with your average Joe like me longest achieved 30min endurance run... Then consider lugging heavy loads with Fallout strength of 6 (important in Fallout) etc. and how much you can lug in your backpack for prolonged time and you find yourself very quickly as a poor excuse for a human being. Whatever way you put it, most of the people would fare miserably if used Fallout ranking system for defying theirs character survival capability, I personally know only people that score reasonably well in one or two basic stats, for girls, the most common usually being the charisma, and don't get me started with skills, where many people in software development would be dead within 72 hours if left in the wild.
John, This is a great test to benchmark ourselves where we all are in each one of these categories. I scored myself at a 74, but I'm probably a little generous. I do see where I need to improve. I would add in your situational awareness category to also have situational awareness even when you are inside of your home. Too many people leave windows unlocked and open, garage doors wide open, door braces off during the day, gates unlocked during the day, etc. Do we get extra credits for carrying multiple tools? LOL Or extra points for instead of counting 🐑 sheep at night when you can't sleep, you war game "what if" scenarios, in your mind (and practice clearing rooms in your house in the middle of the night) LOL with what and how you would fight off an intruder or (multiple intruders). This was fun! I want to give this exercise to family and friends. I've written it all up, as I was watching your video. This is where we need to be folks, especially during these unprecidented times. Thank you John for what you do. Love your videos.
Betcha we all fail the first time.. but can we get our shit together and fill the holes after? Im still watching the commercial cuz i dont wanna even know how lacking i am...
I ended up with a 44 score. I'm impressed. I scored myself fairly and then lowered it a little to compensate for arrogance. I have many years working as a casino security guard - loads of experience in physically dealing with troublesome people of all shapes, sizes, genders, and fighting skills. Two things really hurt my score: 1) Lifestyles, I'm an LEO so I'm often if bad situations. 2) Fitness. I have a lot more fat that ever needed. I scored 3's, 4's and two 5's. Not as bad as I was expecting. Clever test. It gave me a few things to contemplate.

I will begin with a scientific hypothesis based on your initial question, but before watching the video, of having a 3/10. I was going to say 1/10 but I remembered I have blades, anti-virus software and some combat training. So I figured... +2.
John gave himself a 3 and it lowered my scores to 0.5, 0.3, 0.1
Slightly above 25%... Not bad. I think that translates to .4 under my prediction. Good prediction! Could be better at security. Interesting thing about psychopaths, they can feel fear and depression. They just don't recognize threats well, so can expose themselves to reckless dangers in ways which seem fearless. At least so says some theory on the subject...
25x2=50 ... More work to be done
Thanks John, always great information you provide.
The title for this video should be “ how to feel bad about yourself in 10 minutes and 48 seconds or less.” Lol, 74.

Oh goodness... I'm a mom of 5... and gave myself 30/50...60%. If a former marine is at 56% ...I KNOW I was too liberal with my points!!!

Yeah, after I get out of work I can barely walk. I ain't runnin' nowhere.

My emphasis is on maximum efficiency with minimum effort. What I could do in my 30s, 40s and 50s is not available to me now. Though I still shoot a little. would like to see an assessment like this geared for those of us who are more senior in years it still pays to have goals.

Prayers for you and your family

I need a hug now....
Decades ago I'd have scored well enough, but.... I did say decades ago!
Ha, yes, like 4 decades ago. oh, the good old days.
Thanks John, I'm an old guy, didn't score very high. But this old soldier can still get the job done in a pinch.
Agreed
🐝 Or you could be somewhere in the middle.
I wonder if John’s going to have a better score than me…I going out on a limb here but I’m gonna say probably yes
I’m rooting for you bro!
💥💥💥I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL💥💥💥
Always such great stuff...and such awesome content. And I’m so happy to see how much your channel is growing. I’ve been following for quite a while, and I’m glad to see the word is spreading. Keep it up, Warrior!! 🇺🇸💪🏼
Holy crap 24% well there's some motivation!
Ah! A man honest with himself. Always nice to encounter.
I didnt really do the math but im pretty sure im lower than that.
62% but lacking in multiple areas. Great test John, thank you! Really need to step up my medical and exposure to stressful training events.
50%. Gotta step up on medical aspects, home security and self reliance. Thanx for the checkup!! Great content. Superior patriotism. Brother in arms🤘💛💛🤘
45, I teach this stuff.
Home security, I don't like cameras honestly, especially wifi.

Time to look at myself HONESTLY , regroup and realize I've gotten soft .
Me too man, me too
😐
If lifes to easy , its done wrong , weve all lost some resilience with plandemic , get in that heat and work
I might have been really hard on myself but 25%. Many many things I’d like to implement that living in an apartment can’t sustain.
Being hard on yourself is smart.
Same here I got 34% but I think I'm being very honest. This was a great wake up call and good check list to go through👍
In response to what you said in the end of video... I'm subscribed and have all notifications turned on and have been for years and I noticed early covid I never saw your videos on my reccomended ever. It used to be 60% of my home page on RUclips and now I've gotta search and am never notified of your videos. Love your content and it won't stop me. Thank you for making the content you do.
Gimme 7 beers….. and I feel like I have hand to hand skills
"My survival skills drastically improve when I'm drunk."
My ability to make cogent, rational decisions in the face of fear and physical threat increases exponentially with a little bit of booze on board. Not enough to be drunk, but just enough to take the edge of that fear off.
It's a near impossibility to avoid stupid people, especially living so close to Washington DC
Talk about behind enemy lines, stay strong brother!
Even living in California is living too close to Washington D.C.
move to Chicago, IL you will change your mind about Washington DC
Move
Try living near a Walmart
I got a 44%. Gardening, food storage, and emergency preparedness are a pretty high priority for me. Got a whole lot of other stuff to work on though 😕
Dude, don't cut yourself short, biting and pulling hair counts for more that you know.
Between my time in Delta SEAL team 6 Ranger division and of course The Avengers I’m pretty sure I’ve got this…
So I’ve been told that I haven’t actually done any of that… so an honest assessment puts me at about 50%.
Nice comment G.I. joe...lol parachute not included!
Job, if you’re hanging out with Evan all the time, you should be at a -2!!!
I am a 5! Oh wait, that's my total score. Not so impressive after all.
Scored a 76. Home security, gun/knife, hand to hand, physical fitness, lifestyle scored pretty high.I do need to work on awareness and im working on the self sufficiency part. Just sold our house in the suburbs. I'm pretty solid on the medical but I would like to get some more training.
I scored low mostly due to health and disabilities...my wife, a Paramedic used to ask me why i have so many knives, provisions, and other unmentionables around the house but she no longer asks....she knows. lol
My health has improved enormously over the last few years with Keto, fasting and exercise.
58. I'm not too disappointed, but I also realize I can improve in all categories and massively in some.... like fitness. Damnit.
Yep, If I had to bug out by foot I might as well stay and fight.
I little bit more effort every day goes a very long way.
I catch myself looking down at my phone when I stand in line and look at nothing but my home screen just to listen to the people around me...is that weird? lol
Yup, your're a weirdo-😁-when your home screen is Youporn.
@@ioracle8015 🤣 By home screen I mean my apps
62%, lots of room for improvement. There is always something else to learn.
64%. It's nice to do an honest score and look inside for the truth! Thank you
70. Definitely room for improvement. Thanks for a solid test. I didn't do as well as I thought I would.
"if you're a powerlifter who gets tired watching other people run"
Damn John why'd you call me out like that?
2 months of HIIT at the end of your workout twice a week would more than fix it. Measure in calories and PR at least once a week.
I scored “need improvement”. 60 and in shape, however not as I need to be.
I appreciate this challenge. It is eye opening.
I got a 60%, I like this test. It really tells me my poor areas. Thanks John!
Hopefully it’s as high as what I scored on my SBR exam last month cuz I’m about to be valedictorian over there at the ATF office.
Most over-confident people rate their test,
like they're creating a Fallout character haha
Ring a ding ding, baby.
@@HipsterKhan lol nice!
Watch it profligate!!! 😂
Great test 72% retired LEO/ FTO for many years. also Herniated disc's from years of training. Great information you provide on your channel.!!
62 for me. I have a lot of self preparedness to improve on in my house as far food and a reliable garden.
“I need to get punched in the face again” who wants to attempt to hit John in the face?!😂😂
i can only imagine what one could learn from sparring with him.
@@twixt999 I’d do it. I wouldn’t win, but I’d do it.
@@TheGrizz49 hell yeah it would be great. it would definitely hurt
His beard has powers of untold proportions.

Well I think you need to be able to handle the unavoidable echo!
Betcha we all fail the first time.. but can we get our shit together and fill the holes after? Im still watching the commercial cuz i dont wanna even know how lacking i am...
Yes we can 🤙
In the words of someone better than 'this guy' ::two thumbs right at my face::
"But, did you die?"
Alright, now let's do something about it!
I feel like I’m now just a 6 year old boy running around with a squirt gun…
lol, your comment both had me laughing and dying a bit inside for how true it is.
I’m 8 with a super soaker! Me and my friends train every evening, until the street lights come on and mom starts yelling for us. 😝
I ended up with a 44 score. I'm impressed. I scored myself fairly and then lowered it a little to compensate for arrogance. I have many years working as a casino security guard - loads of experience in physically dealing with troublesome people of all shapes, sizes, genders, and fighting skills. I live where I can exist on my land (wildlife/ fresh running water/septic/plants/fuel/ammo/xbow). I practice bushcraft and hunting/trapping on my land. Private gun range. Generator & fuel. Wood stove. Thanks for the test.
68/100 - still happy with it, I didn't want anything high up; there's always room for improvement!
Look at it in a positive light. At least you scored higher on food storage. You just carry with you all the time..
Thank you for your service.
62%, lowest in hand to hand and tactics. Really want to take some Jiu-Jitsu classes but they are so expensive :(
How much? I train Jiu Jitsu 3 days a week for $85/ month
One thing I’ve learned about h2h: by all means get training but don’t get too confident. It’s really easy to get lit up by someone only slightly better (or lucky)
@@evanderboynton3057 True. Most people have little to no formal training though, so it doesn't take a lot to be better than average. The problem is, that people who would prey on us have the mindset.
@@09jisaac where do you go? Everyone around me charges $250-300 a month not including the Gi either.
BJJ is 100 a month where I train and I get a few free kick boxing classes in. In my experience it’s well worth it and cheaper than a therapist.
I am only 13 but still this needs to get better I gave myself a 32% I own a gun but its a Remington 700 in 30-06 so not much of a self defense gun and I've only been shooting for 3 years
As a Marine, We are Cavemen. As such, I scored a 50 on the test. As Cavemen we are resilient, you never truly know what will happen. We know what we know and are always looking to improve. All I can say is "mess" around and find out
