It bothered me for a while, but now it's a blessing. It's allowing people to really show who they truly are. The past few years have been very telling on a lot of folks I've known. Folk who'll fall right in line with what they're told, including demonizing those who don't.. and the folks who'd rather face the suffering head on, rather then bow down. Ain't good or bad, just clarity.

    • @MrX-zz2vk
      @MrX-zz2vk Год назад

@jamesborek8125 "Woe to those that call evil good and good evil..."
      Isaiah 5:20
And that's what the world is doing. Not just in politics, but the media, education, everywhere.
But like you said, when they reveal themselves as immoral, low quality people, they're actually doing you a favor. For instance, if you're a young man or woman looking for a high quality life partner, pay attention to that girl/woman's or guy's social media photos and posts.
If there's pictures of them partying hard and getting completely plastered that's a major red flag they're gifting you with. Pay attention to that. And the mixed messages. If they've posted on their page, wall or whatever that they're a Christian and "...living for Jesus" but on same page they've got pictures from the crazy keg party and sexually suggestive photos and comments or the same from someone they hooked up with over the weekend, that doesn't jive with their Christian "witness" that's another tell or reveal about their true character.
Always pay attention to those things. Because they're essentially telling you to avoid them like the plague. If you choose to ignore all those red flags/warning signs you're in for a world of hurt. Any guy or gal who chooses to ignore all those warning signs will only have himself/herself to blame later.

I hate and feel very uncomfortable speaking highly of myself or when others complement me, but objectively speaking, speaking truth, I am a selfish person. Drinking changes a person. I would argue that drinking produces lies; it is not a truth serum. If you spend enough time intoxicated, you may think that it’s a normal acceptable state of consciousness. Anyone drinking and ‘observing’ other people for a baseline on character traits is lying to themselves. Intoxicated people are just intoxicated. Angry people on the other hand; suffer from a different type of condition. Confusion is the root of most anger. 🃏

Gee, thanks, John. You're only 35 or so years too late. My family is none of this so I was taught none of this growing up. My father was a hard worker but that's about all. I was taught rudeness and arrogance. Fortunately I didn't take after their fondness of partying. Starting around 2017, 43 years old, various things happened that started to humble me. Some my doing, some beyond my control, some results of betrayal by people I should have known better than to trust. I think I found your channel around 4 years ago. When I saw what the WPS way was all about I knew that was what I always wanted to be but didn't know how. WPS has helped me tremendously to learn how to be the man that I was meant to be. Thank you.

I could not agree more. I completely understand where your words are coming from. Part of our internal security mechanism inate in each of us should surface some warning to you when danger lurks. I believe this sense is stronger in few than others. It is relative to understanding and being aware of your surroundings. On another note, we should always be watching for the good in people; the warning surfaces when you see the absence of it. I appreciate your post. Sam, USMC Ret.

On humility, I think this is more specific to the younger generations, but self-deprecation is often more of an outward manifestation of insecurities which is a different manifestation of pride. Viewing self deprecation in tandem with the other points you lined out, it makes sense and is a good sign, I just notice too many people nowadays with that insecure self-deprecation and it bugs me.

Thank you for these thoughts John! I always enjoy your content and have truly enjoyed reading your book! I was so excited when I heard about your book that I pre-ordered an extra copy to send to my older sons (from a previous marriage). I wish I could have been able to afford more than the two copies, because I hope to send them to as many of the other men and young men I know as possible. I plan to by one or two copies every 2-4 weeks, so that I can send them out as Christmas presents. I truly admire and appreciate what you do and the message you share. I have overcome a lot in my life, but I still have a long way to go. Videos like this are a great reminder to stop and evaluate the places I still have plenty of room for improvement. I have a great relationship with my children and a very respectful and courteous relationship with my wife, but there is plenty of room for improvement on my part for our relationship to be more "friendly and playful". It's so easy in our world to get burdened and weighed down by the "have too's" and "need too's" these gentle reminders go a long way to self evaluating where we are at and what is truly important!

This was fantastic to listen to and reflect on in my own personal life with who I am, and in those around me in my life that I have lost, or that I have gained.
Many of these behaviors are usually incorporated into single individuals. They are people who refuse to evolve spiritually.
a man who fights only for convenience is a selfish man and dishonest with those around them, using them. To them there is no struggle that is worth anything including their own family.
Someone who is overly egoic believes they hold the keys to the Gates of heaven and hell. People who place themselves above everyone else preach a life of no humility, and will help no one, they will not listen to you, they do not see inside of you as a person, they only see parts of themselves that reflect back at their own ego.
You must always speak the truth, and have the courage to die with that truth, but you must be equally mindful of what you're willing to sacrifice and for what.
Speaking on how a man treats his family is a very good point. The truth is always in the details. Some things are easier to spot than others. Sometimes everything good is a smokescreen to hide the truth.
The truth itself will always reveal, Especially in actions.
Thank you for posting this, it's a great reminder to keep the self sharpened and intentional, and to observe the same in those around you.
