My words for 2024 will be Discipline and Consistency. But I'm working on it now. I have to be wiling to make the sacrifice, even when I don't feel like it, and whether or not I have the support of others. Thank you for the kick in the butt today. Let's get to work!
Very true. 40 years ago all you had were self-improvement books and an occasional seminar in your town. Now you can watch self-improvement videos all day and enroll in online courses and get nothing done.
Best quote I’ve heard recently “Show up for your life, man”. That one hits me every morning when I wake up and get ready to be a part of this world and do my part. Let’s create a nation of builders.
You are so right, we tend to procrastinate, thinking about doing, talking about doing , instead of actually doing. I know I personally read a lot, talk a lot, think a lot , and actually do very little. The old saying “ action speaks louder than words “ is so true.
Listened to this while cleaning my room. I know it’s a small thing, but I hope finally cleaning my room snowballs into bigger change. I need the change in my life now. I hope everyone who sees this gets motivated to just start doing it, and I look forward to what the future holds for me and you all. Stay blessed.
In the Discourses of Epictetus, a Roman slave/stoci philosopher, he talks about advising an athlete who was supposed to be working out. Epictetus says "show me your shoulders" and the athlete replies with "here, take a look at the weights I have." The philosopher responds "I am more interested to see the results of the weights." The Athlete replies, "but here, look at this book on working out I have read." The philosopher basically responds with "either show be the effects of the work or be gone. I have no interest in the tools of the work, but the work itself." These are lessons that have been reiterated for thousands of years, and yet people still forget. Keep up the good work.

Crazy timing that I come across this now. Just made the decision to finally apply for my dream job and put in my notice at my current job. Starting the new one January 1 and I feel alive again. Paralysis by analysis was my issue for years. Great video, Ryan.
You're 100% about doing, that's the thing that separates the successful from the dreamers. Until two and a half years ago I was a dreamer. Your choices are presented by your environment. If every choice you have access to is just a gradient of bad, how is it YOUR fault for making a bad choice? Certainly there's personal accountability one has to their own feelings, actions, and worldview, but these things can have no effect on a desired outcome, regardless of effort. If you're short, ugly, and broke you're only going to have access to less than desirable options. None of this is YOUR fault, it's not a matter of blame, credit, or effort. It's simply reality being real.

Just found your channel. It’s 8am on a Friday morning Dec 1. Walking on my brand new treadmill. Committed to walking 4 hours per day (will adjust as needed) dang “no carb” only worked when I was young and walking everywhere. Today I make money but sit on my butt. Lol so “zero carb” is useless without that caloric deficit/activity Happy to have found your channel. Your call to action and sense of total ownership resonates with me. That’s some 10X stuff right there. I’m type A: when I want something, I get it yesterday. I loved my life starting new projects but many of the trees proved to be unfruitful. But I learned and I had fun. People said this was an addictive personality but now I understand this is a blessing. The guy who shoots first and aims later is going to hit more targets than the dude who is still shopping around for the perfect rifle. Catch you in the next video! Tommy
Move to a mountain a few miles from the nearest town and walk/ruck it for a year. By your third time up the mountain your conditioning starts to kick in and you'll be surprised how easy an 8 mile round trip with about thirty to forty pounds of groceries like it's nothing. It's just your doing and as long as you are in tune with who you are the doing becomes effortless.
Nicely articulated. And a good message. As the Zen master said, “To begin, begin”. In addition to counselling men to stop thinking (and get into action), I’d encourage you to also help men to stop listening to their feelings. Societally, we’ve put too much emphasis on feelings. But our feelings are most often formed by our assessments of the situations and relationships we’re in, assessments that are holding us back. Break down the assessments - build new ones. There is gold here. Keep up the good work.
Don’t stop listening to your feelings, nor stop planning. You just need to put proper emphasis where it belongs. Do more than you plan, and reflect on your actions. Don’t plan based on feelings, but understand your feelings and master them.
“Stop listening to their feelings” is incredibly vague and counterproductive in several ways of interpreting. People need to listen to their feelings to identify why they’re stuck, how to change their thoughts and get unstuck, how to process the feelings that are coming up so they get unstuck, how to honor their unmet needs to get more of their mind to cooperate, and more. But if by listening to your feelings you mean stop completely buying into your negative feelings and letting them stop you from taking constructive action, then I would agree. But I think a better route than telling people to stop listening to their feelings is to start questioning their thinking. If they’re feeling negative feelings they should question the thinking that produced those feelings and make sure they’re thinking accurately.
@@adamj2683nicely put. I hoped to convey a similar sentiment when I suggested that we need to look at the assessments (thinking, opinions) that drive those feelings. In our society, we get stuck at the feeling level, and often fail to get into the assessments / opinions / thinking behind those feelings. Thanks for adding to the ideas I’m trying to convey.
This is so damn simple, and yet I still on the regular just stay lost THINKING and TALKING about doung stuff. This is dumb. I'm listening to this today, and looking at myself and saying "Just do the damn thing!". Thanks for the honest motivation. Keeping stepping on my toes and kicking my ass, man. We as men appreciate this, and we need to hear it.
For some reason I've been subscribed for who knows how long but this is the first video I've watched. So. Good. Such a good message. It hurt at times but it's what has to be said and heard. I loved your attitude, your tone, your wisdom, everything. Thank you.

Thanks Ryan! I often fall into that trap of JUST reading, studying and listening to tons of content but then find myself not putting it into action. Without action it’s useless head knowledge. Thanks for the reminder to “Do the work!”
Same here. I’m so in my head! I suffer from the “paralysis of analysis” syndrome. I’m a perfectionist by nature, and it serves me very well most if the time. My clients love me, and I’ve built a great reputation at being “the best” in my field. The problem is, I analyze new ventures to death, and each time I have a great idea and become defeated by over analyzing, I’m beaten down that much more.

I’m tired of what I’m doing now and need to go after what I’m passionate about.
@@Aaronymous_71 same, again. I’m self employed (28 years) and really need a change of direction. I’m in a rut where, I’m not feeling passionate about much at all. Thanks for this message. I went through a large chunk of my young adulthood in much the manner you first described. It caused me to justify all kinds of terrible things I perpetrated on people who loved and trusted me. The world is so soft that many young men and women have never had hard work and accountability modeled for them, nor exposed directly to it. In fact, victimhood is glorified by today's popular culture. By the grace of god, children forced me to come to terms with my adulthood and show up for the people who love me. As I move through life I now look for new ways to be better for the people who rely on me. I hope your message helps others do the same.

Spot on brother!! Last year I decided to get my insurance life and health licenses and it took me a few months and then I had to do all the Medicare certifications that took a few months but now I’m doing the work and still working as a x-ray tech. Doing the work is the only way to live life!!!
You’re absolutely right In everything you said Ryan. I can tell you from first hand experience that reading about it, watching videos about it, and researching every aspect of it will not produce the thing. You have to get off your ass and go get it. After a decade in the military, I had a 15 1/2 year break in service and finally decided to rejoin. The army told me I would have to repeat basic training due to the length of break in service. I was 45 years old and going back through basic training for a second time. None of the rejoining process was easy I just had to do the things. I’m winding down a firefighting career and spinning back up my military career at the same time. So yes, you have to do, action is the only thing that matters. Thanks for the words today brother.
It is my first time watching any of your videos. This was recommended by youtube, im going to subscribe because i found this video inspirational, thank you.

My biggest issue, as a man with autism, is that I was raised to give people the benefit of the doubt and live by the Golden Rule. When one person shows themselves to be the jerk they are, I log that and move forward accordingly. Problem is, it has taken me a very long time to develop the mindset that I should stereotype people based on my observations of their behaviors and how they may compare to others I've known. If someone I've never engaged with reminds me of someone who screwed me due to their similar actions, I should probably not give that person the benefit of the doubt but make them earn my trust.
There’s so many times when we think we’re actually moving the needle, but we’re just wasting time and moving laterally. This is the most important video anyone can watch

@@markflores9055 Not going to build wealth on a random mountain though.
Thank you.
I needed to hear this. Thank you
hell yea. exactly what I needed. most of the time the videos aren’t worth the click.. this one was
The message I needed to hear this morning (7am where I am, watching YT). Now searching another dozen YT videos that'll tell me how to get off the couch and do the dishes.
its the simple things... just do it, don't overthink it!
@@klayvonisme Same! I was raised to fear everything and in the last 10-15 yrs I started taking risks that I normally wouldn’t have taken and it’s mostly paid off. However, there are a few areas where I still suffer from the paralysis of analysis you described. It’s usually in my career. I’m tired of what I’m doing now and need to go after what I’m passionate about.
@@Aaronymous_71 same, again. I’m self employed (28 years) and really need a change of direction. I’m in a rut where, I’m not feeling passionate about much at all. Thankfully, I’m at a place in life where I’m sorta semi retired so I have time to be free from the grindstone and explore options. I also end up thinking away the time I’ve been given. I’ve been really stuck.
@@klayvonisme I’m 52 and I’ve been in the same industry since I exited high school. I’m blessed that it’s supported me and my family but I fell into this job, it wasn’t anything I was passionate about. Years of complaining and feeling unsatisfied and never making a change. I beat myself up over it thinking it’s too late to change careers at my age. I’ll never know unless I take action. It’s right now or never.
Same here.
instantly subscribed. this is the exact material i needed to commit to the ventures i’ve been wanting to begin but have been dragging my feet while i’m in community college and doing part time construction. thank you
Thanks for this message.
Thats true my brother. The more valuable men out here the better this world will spin as well as teaching the young ones our ways. Lets get it ! Top G
Ecclesiastes 9:10 (NIV): "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom."
Really love that you are passionate enough about all this enough to say…” if all you do is listen to these podcasts without action…. Then unsubscribe.”
That is true commitment to the message! Big props brother! 💪💯
Spot on brother!! Last year I decided to get my insurance life and health licenses and it took me a few months and then I had to do all the Medicare certifications that took a few months but now I’m doing the work and still working as a x-ray tech. Doing the work is the only way to live life!!!
Wow! This video certainly cured my insomnia. Knocked me right out!
Discovering the difference between action and motion.
Thank you for this message!
Actions speak louder than words. Totally agree. What a man actually does is what matters.
hey bro. cool share. ill be checking in more frequently. looking foward to hearing more content. thx again for sharing.
Such a great video. Thank you ❤ I need to take more action. This hits hard.
Thank you for this I have been building my business for a few years but have been scared to do the jump. But thank you for the motivation push.
It is my first time watching any of your videos. This was recommended by youtube, im going to subscribe because i found this video inspirational, thank you.
Very good video message brother!!
It’s so easy to whine and complain as I see so many people doing!!
The real work is in taking action taking each step especially when you’re scared!!
Blessings to this podcast brother!!
Let’s get off our rears and do the work 🙏
I just found your channel right now, and i just so happen to be making changes in my life like starting a business. This is crazy
I'm right here right now. Doing what I can with what I have and where I am. This is exactly where I'm at. I'm not sitting around waiting for it to happen. Like I have for so long. Thanks brother 👍
Thanks Ryan, I needed this message today.
Don't apologise for this message amazing
Thanks so much for this...I needed this

There’s so many times when we think we’re actually moving the needle, but we’re just wasting time and moving laterally.
This is the most important video anyone can watch
14 seconds in and I am quickly reminded, I have things to do. Thank you. In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury. Proverbs 14:23
Priceless message… Thank you for sharing it, Ryan!
Nice.
Thanks for the nice chat.
Im doing the thing. My own business.
I can do it better, bigger and more efficiently
I was widowed, my son left without a father a few years ago. Thanks for a message I can send my kid.
Needed this! Thank you
Best thing I’ve heard today !
Great advice, thank you Ryan
I needed to hear this. I’ve been remodeling a house for me and my daughter for the last 3 years. Complete remodel down to the studs. New wire plumbing and everything. I notice I get carried away in my thoughts of what the house could and will be that it distracts me from the task at hand. I noticed when I’m not daydreaming I get a lot more work done.
As a man. I love doing.
I've come to acknowledge it's my role.
If that's why I'm loved, so be it. It's a good perk.
I watch this video every Friday now. Im doing the thing!
Thank you for this man.
Thx for the authenticity i feel this way too great information
Own it move on

This is one of the best , most timely, and extremely relevant podcasts I have seen from you. Deeply appreciated. I needed to hear this
A brilliant episode. Honesty is what will make us move forward and improve. And thank you for saying unsubscribe from all the channels, such decency and honesty is rare and I respect you for it 🫡.
This is what I needed to hear.
Thank you.
People are just people no matter how great they are!
Whether you believe u can , or whether you believe you can’t…..
You’re right either way.
I needed this message. You’re a good man. Putting yourself out there and propelling the message men NEED to hear. Not some fake motivation. Appreciate your efforts.
No it's not just what you do. You need to guard what comes out of your mouth as well.
