@@agenciq1 Calling these guys Spartan 4's was a huge oversight on all the writers part imo. The Spartan program kidnapped genetically gifted children to indoctrinate and augment them into super soldiers. The program is like the definition of unethical. The UNSC would 1000% distance itself from the name Spartan after all this went public.
Plus these guys are just fundamentally different soldiers than the older generation Spartans. Spartan 4's are not selected on by genetics, they are all adults upon entering the program, and they all volunteered for the role. The similarities between the two are all surface level.
Personally I would have just called them Hoplites. It's not a term used frequently in modern media, and in ancient history the two were basically the same thing. Spartans were citizens of Sparta that served as hoplites for life. Whereas other city-state's Hoplites would usually only actively serve for a few years and then would be called upon later if war ever broke out. Every Spartan was a hoplite, but not every hoplite was a Spartan.
Spartan 4's weren't in the military since they were a young child. They will retire and return to civilian life like the ancient hoplites would. Master Chief and his peers are like the ancient Spartans, they have no civilian life to return too. Service in the military is all they know.
@@jacobburns1095 I'm pretty sure many of their body parts are replaced, so adjusting back to normal life would be harde (albeit easier than the trauma stricken Spartan 2s and 3s.

Master Chief wasn’t the tallest of his group either.
He's also not as tall as he is shown in this cutscene. Master chief in armor is 7'2" palmer in armor is 6'8" that does not equate the rediculous height difference shown in this cutscene.
Animators got the sizing wrong, 343 even says so. He’s not that much taller than Palmer. Although I feel this is how the size difference should be for the 2’s

@@SupChad735 They clarified in saying it was supposed to give Chief this larger than life feel to him. He'd been gone for years and then people thought he died. This was his glory moment, something to redefine the living legend, 117.

As a kid, I thought the process the librarian put him through and the composer just activated his forerunner DNA imprint which made him taller or something. 😂

There is a nuance to bantering, nuance that she does not respect here. Chief is a literal living legend, coming to their rescue as well. While most of us don't even know who tf she is. She has no right to mess with the Chief like that. It's a very snarky and condescending sort of banter, she has to earn that. Being a Spartan 4 doesn't give her a pass just like that.

I've noticed that as our childhood games started, everyone was a voiceless or onelind brute, but as we grew up, so did the characters.
He was never the tallest, strongest, or fastest. He was the most brave and the luckiest.
