@@miniaturejayhawk8702 Seeing as how she is missing from Infinite I guess the writers decided to go for the MIA approach with her character ark. Just like every new character introduced 4 & 5.
When chief said he'd bring the covenant their bomb... I didn't expect he was referring to Palmer lol
Spartan IV’s always seemed… cocky.
- didn’t get kidnapped at young age
- didn’t undergo EXTREMELY dangerous augmentations (theirs were safe)
- didn’t have to watch some 50% of their friends die as kids
- didn’t join up when humanity was LOSING
- didn’t lose 90%+ of their Spartan brethren
- probably aren’t worth even a covenant carrier (Jorge, Sam, etc)
Add more if you can think of them
They would give the adults the augmentations. But it would kill them. Only the Spartan 2s can use certain armor that cost that much since even a small inch can send your hand flying out your body due to the suite amplifying your movements.
Specifically for Palmer
Not having to be one of the last four Spartans of their generation

@Klaze I actually did, so what you are saying is baffling to me.
@Klaze chill dude, ffs it's just a game
I've always loved how when the chest-piece comes off and falls to the ground there is no bounce. It just drops. And sits. What a great way of communicating how dense and heavy that armour is.
343 actually does a good job showing how heavy Chief's armor is in 4 and Infinite.
and the thud
You don't want a heavy armour. Asshats like you actually believe that heavy=good. You'd think that such an advanced civilization would already invent an extremely light yet indestructible armour.
Isnt it also because of having good shock absorbtion against balistics?

The fact everyone stops what they're doing when Chief enters just show how much he carries the franchise
Carries the franchise is a weird way to put it. He's the protagonist of the main series. It would be like making a Die Hard movie without John McClane or a John Wick movie with no John Wick. As a non-Halo fan I can confirm…
That was badass.
I feel like the Marines in this point in time see the 4s in a different light than the 2s like they respect the newer Spartans and are glad for their help in battles. However, I feel like when they see a Spartan 2 it’s like witnessing a legend come to life the sheer awe those Marine must feel when gazing upon them.
Well yeah, the S2’s had been in operation for over 25 years and there’s so few left that the odds of seeing one in a lifetime are slim to none.
Contrast to the S4’s of which there’s over 1000 of and they’ve become big enough to have their own branch of the UNSCDF.
The S4s were more relatable to the marines, since they had been pulled from the Marine Corps and ODST troops for augmentation. These were people the marines knew used to be just like them. Whereas the S2s were inducted from childhood, and didn't really mingle with other soldiers. They felt like a different species from humanity to regular soldiers. Living legends, as you said.
@@squallstopher608 that being said, what would be an uphill battle with support from the S4's would be a cakewalk with the S2's, so as a marine id think you'd be happier to see the S2's
@@heliosjollywolf9552 Oh for sure. A single S2 was better than a squad of S4s
Most people cannot even FATHOM the massive difference between a soldier trained since childhood, before elementary school, with the best training available to the entire galaxy. And of course how vastly different it is to compare them to regular soldiers who while also good at their jobs, never had the job of being "bred for war", they got trained for war. They had childhoods, they had families, they had optional training and choices. Spartans 2 only had War and their only drive was to finish the mission. They didnt have goals of growing up and getting married or owning a farm. They were selected because they were the best of the best for the particular job and no one else would ever match them. Why? Because the spartan 2s first job was to crush insurrection. Most other spartans have weak stomachs when it comes to cold blooded killing, the 2s were designed specifically around that FIRST. Everything else in war was a piece of cake once they got past that hurdle. Even today, 99% of all active combat units will never get past that hurdle. And yes, that includes special forces, the ones trained specifically to kill. There is a part of humanity that person needs to learn to put away in order to function in those situations and the lore clearly states that no one else will ever match the Spartan 2s because the training procedures were, are and will always be highly illegal and immoral. When morality goes out the window, the possibilities are endless.

Spartan IVs were transferred to the Spartan program. Spartan IIs were raised in the Spartan program. Spartan IVs are just buffed ODSTs and other high-performance units while Spartan IIs were raised and trained to be killing machines with certain Spartan IIs being classified as HLV, or Hyper Lethal Vector.
Only Masterchief and Noble-6 are classified HLV
@@oliviero46 Masterchief Is said to be a HLV but Noble Six is spoken of being akin to HLV Spartans. Noble 1 Carter tells Noble 6 to leave his lonewolf side behind and that he was sure Noble 6 could handle himself against an army.
@Klaze Spartan Is were basically a test run, SGT Johnson is a Spartan I. Spartan IIs were the more fleshed out creations even though there was literally only 2 armor types, Chief and most of the Spartan IIs chose the heavier and shielded armour while a few Spartan IIs chose the light armour which lacked the shields. These Spartan IIs were called Headhunters and were sabotage/assassin Spartan IIs. Spartan IIIs would have been improvements for Spartan IIs considering Spartan IIs were the trainers. Then you get Spartan IVs which are smaller, less disciplined and commonly made up of macho man soldiers, some exceptions are Spartan Buck who ex-ODST from H3 ODST. As we see in Halo 5, Spartan IVs can struggle to kill 1 high ranked Elite while Spartan IIs could slaughter them with ease, not to mention that if I remember correctly there are 2 original Spartan II teams alive, Red team and Chiefs Blue team as we see Chief go AWOL and Blue team goes with him in Halo 5.
@@firefox5714 every Spartan is considered hyper lethal, even the IVs. It’s a marketing ploy that’s gotten out of hand.
Also, every Spartan II got MJOLNIR; not one picked “lighter armor” aside from Kurt who chose to wear the same armor as his Spartan IIIs in order to bond with them (MJOLNIR also didn’t come standard with energy shields until the MK V variant in 2551, meaning most of the war was fought with unshielded armor). You’re thinking of the Spartan IIIs who were generally equipped with Semi Powered Infiltration (SPI) armor. Some of these IIIs were hand picked to be in specialized teams known as “Headhunters.” Jun was one such Spartan before he was transferred to Noble Team.
Spartan IVs killed Elites with ease in Halo 5. Osiris took out Jul ‘Mdama and his guard of Zealots with ease. You’re probably thinking of the cut scene from Halo 4’s Spartan Ops where Thorne struggled against Jul’s Lieutenant, Gek ‘Lhar, a known Spartan killer. This is after he’d already taken on a group of Elites in hand-to-hand without some of his armor’s functions (he had been transported to Requiem from Infinity and didn’t have his helmet), took at least one energy sword slash across his torso, was knocked out (likely concussed) and then freed himself before getting jumped later on.
@@yorecf9641 Spartan IIs are much more capable than Spartan IVs as we see that Spartan IVs can get up themselves and go full Rambo such as the shotgun Spartan who abandoned cover and got smacked by Promethans and was the only injured Spartan on his team. Chiefs first casualty was a Spartan that saved him and then sacrificed himself for the other Spartan IIs to escape.

Bruh thinking about how much more superior Spartans 2s were like imagine if all of the ones who survived the augmentation were one company of soldiers covenant wouldn’t know what hit them
That would actually be tactically stupid because then a single planet buster bomb or orbital bombardment could wipe them all out no matter how skilled they are.
You don’t have to beat Spartans to kill them you just have to be willing to destroy wherever they happen to be standing at the time.
If you read the books, you would know that they are more than four still alive, many more. And even many from the ones "dead" during the augmentation process are active now, like the spartans from the squad in halo wars.
And during the first times of the war, the spartans were wining every ground battle. But every one of thoses victories were useless because the covenant keep on wining in space, with their battleship.
Still Spartans were weaker than Elites one on One due to elites having superior strength, Armor, shield. Later humanity did progressed far ahead of them and Spartans gear got better.
