@@millardthomas9059 yeah you're right and every season they were learning a new system and 2 different systems his rookie year and still won offensive rookie of the week 7 times and player of the week once in 14 games
I'm delighted to see Mayfield back in the saddle. The Browns are so brilliant about handling quarterbacks; they ran off the first decent one they've had since the eighties.
People made me feel like I was crazy for not wanting to dump him after 14 mediocre games, especially after being the only Brown’s quarterback since Bernie Kosar who’s ever proved they were capable of being an effective quarterback
In 2021 in the first game of the year Baker had a 21 of 28 for 321 yards against KC. They had a two score lead in the 2nd half, but their all pro RB, Nick Chubb, fumbles the ball and the defense allowed 14 points in 49 seconds. Next game he was 19 of 21, but he got hurt in that game. If the Browns stuck with Mayfield for 2022, they could have had their first round picks and had a lot of cap space to spend on free agents. Could have been a playoff year. He needs a healthy second year and beyond with the same system. Canales' system is Baker friendly while Stefanski's system was Nick Chubb friendly.
Nick Chubb had 15 carries, 83 yards, 5.5 ypc, and 2 TDs. Kareem Hunt had 6 carries, 33 yards, 5.5 ypc, and 1 TD. Baker mayfield did good yardage wise, but he put nothing in the end zone. If you’re gonna blame the 2 TD scoring running back for that game because of a fumble early on, then maybe you should mention who threw the game losing pick into double coverage. And yes, he injured his non-throwing shoulder. Yet when you actually watch his film, it’s his footwork that’s shotty. As well as him not being on time and putting throws were they need to be. Countless times, WRs would be wide open, and he wouldn’t hit them on time, or he wouldn’t take what was in front of him and instead, lob the ball into double coverage. He’s just not that good of a QB, especially against good teams. Wanna know why he’s succeeding in Tampa? Reason 1, Mike Evans. Reason 2, AWFUL division + easy schedule (and they couldn’t clinch the playoffs against the freaking bum saints). 3, Mike Evans again. If the browns kept baker, it’d probably be the same crap that it’s been for years. Inconsistent, over performing when there’s no expectation, and underperforming when there is expectation. He’s a duct tape QB at best. We’ll see how Watson pans out for the browns, but it won’t change the fact that moving on was the right decision, and the browns have been a FAR better team since then. Lastly, the picks and the money is all a giant red herring. Andrew Berry has been consistently getting first round talent in later rounds, and Jimmy Haslam is stupid rich, so if they decide Watson isn’t it and want out, they’ll make that happen.
As a OU fan I loved Baker. His awareness, cockiness, arm strength and leadership were top notch! OU had the offence to win the championship but the defense sucked. The sooner fans loved this guy and wish him all the best!
Honestly as a Bucs fan, Baker is the most talented QB I've seen play for us other than Brady. Jameis could make more difficult throws than Mayfield but everything else about Jameis's play was worse(pocket presence, awareness, turnovers, footwork, release, srambling ability.) Unless we have the ability to draft a clear franchise QB we'd be stupid to not roll with Baker for the foreseeable future.
Yeahhhh after today I think you might wanna reconsider.. overthrows under throws… picks. Holding on the ball too long.. dude looks like a fucken bum out there
I’ve always loved Mayfield for his mojo and his attitude towards his team. He is the DEFINITION of a team player, to the point where it’s actually negatively impacted his career. I feel like he might’ve stayed in Cleveland beyond 2021 if he actually took time to recover from his injury, and even though it was probably a stupid decision, he stayed on the field for his teammates and the fanbase, who were in win-now mode. So glad to see him having success with the bucs and cottoning to his team again.
As a Browns fan who loved Baker I gotta say that I literally didnt watch a single game the year following Mayfields trade out of raw anger and spite over picking up Watson in his place. It was and still is an absolute shit decision. Flacco really bailed us out of QB hell this year. The Bucs are my 2nd team though as Ill always root for Baker regardless of his team. I just think the dude deserves success and respect as hes worked his ass off and overcame a ton of adversity.
I haven’t watched them either. People made me feel crazy for not wanting to dump him so quickly. It’s so stupid how impatient and rash this organization, but especially the fans are. After all these years, no one sees how inconsistency with your personnel creates consistently BAD football teams
I don't agree that 2023 was Baker's "last chance..." There are always plenty of coaches smart enough to watch play breakdowns, understand that dumpster-fire circumstances are dumpster-fire circumstances, and understand that not all failed plays and/or offenses are failing due to the QB. (Even in those horrible systems, Baker still looked good in film breakdowns. Ask Kurt Warner.)
Probably his last chance as a starter, and he wasn't even guaranteed that spot as the season started. If he flopped again, I doubt he would have been much better off than Drew Lock or Mitch Trubisky at this point.

As a browns fan, I never wanted anything to do with Deshaun, and always said baker was our guy. Happy for him that things are working out in Tampa. I work in the service industry in downtown cleveland, and got to serve baker once. He was nice as hell, tipped VERY generously, and was just a cool guy even if he was a slight bit douchey. That was also 3 years ago now, and who knows how much he’s grown since. With everything he went through in college, to go on and win a heisman, I knew he’d lock down a job somewhere
Great video. I’ll never get over how the Browns treated him. He brought them out of the dumpster and they thanked him by shipping him off to a terrible Carolina team after an injury-riddled season. That front office is a JOKE!
The day of reckoning for the Browns management will be soon in coming - they won't be able to hide behind Watson's injuries much longer, and when they are inevitably forced to concede the deal has failed fan riots and a professional bloodbath will result!
So Texas Tech under Kliff K was kinda like Cleveland, huh? Imagine having Patrick Mahomes and not getting him a Heisman invitation. Nearly 40 QBs have started for the Browns since they came back in the league. Guess who's the only one to start two full seasons?
Since Baker got drafted he's been one of my favorite QB's to watch. He's always had that fire and grit to him and his personality fires me up. Even at his lowest point with the panthers last season I knew he wasn't done, that first game with the rams cemented it for me. I had a feeling that this was gonna be his bounce back season and I'm glad that he's proving it.

This was a great background video on Baker Mayfield that I wasn't aware of, amazing job. As a 30 year fan of the Buccaneers. I couldn't be happier that he is our Quarterback this year, post Tom Brady. I knew we got a deal when he signed with the Buccaneers at only 4 Million with an incentives based contract. He was treated so badly at Cleveland after he won his first game week 3 as a rookie. After the Browns have been on a 19 game losing streak. Then he got into the playoffs a year later I think after an 18 year drought of missing the playoffs. Then Cleveland won their first post season game ever in franchise history. Anyways he got dumped after D. Watson became available and basically bounced around a few teams. They were not the right fit until he came to Tampa. It was perfect timing since we are broke with salary cap issues and he needed a chance to prove himself. Hopefully tomorrow he can beat the Saints at home and prove a lot of doubters wrong His first year with the Bucs he can help us secure our 3rd division title in a row. Also, get home field advantage in the playoffs. Plus having the best year of his career statistically. I hope we resign him to another 2 or 3 more years. He is definitely a starter in the NFL, IMO.
ATTENTION: Mayfield has led a NFC team to the playoffs (Bucs) and a AFC team to the playoffs (Cleveland.) Derek Carr. at New Orleans has a 4 year $150 million contract with $100 million guaranteed. Carr is 0-1 in the playoffs while at Los Vegas. He is 12 games under .500 in his won=loss record. Mayfield is 5 games under .500 after stints with the two most dysfunctional teams in the NFL, Cleveland and Carolina. He's now with a stable organization that has a recent winning tradition. It makes a difference!

I also remember that he was projected as like a 3-4 round pick until halfway through his final year at OU. It's like people believed they were looking at just another bum who put up a lot of yards because of the system.
Dude just beat the brakes off the Eagles in the Playoffs... and as a Cowboys fan, i was loving every minute of it after they came trolling us. Cry Eagles Cry!
Ive always thought he got a raw deal. Gets drafted into probably the worst organization in the nfl and the the bobbleheads on TV, like the imbecile Cowherd, just dog him. Unfortunately GMs buy into the hype and it can destroy careers. Good for him for proving them all wrong!
Baker Mayfield was the Brown best QB since Bernie Kosar and they got rid of him. They beat Pittsburg in the playoff that how sweet it was at the time and of course Cleveland just love to keep losing and got rid of him. Don’t listen to sports media expert. At least they got Flacco now. Watson did nothing for Cleveland and you gave dude that much bag.
Keep in mind even the native Baker rationalists called the haters want him to be good ..just remember J dub’s 5k passing & Josh Freeman was gonna be signed after the 10-6 season AND even Barber said he could been good on the Patrick Petersen podcast….so keep going let’s see👍🏽💯
I wouldn't want him on a big contract because of the inconsistency. I could see him lasting in a Dak Prescott type of role. Not the best pocket passer but able to manage games without being a snoozer.
I'm a bucs fan but I live in REALITY. Bucs have only beat ONE team with a winning record all year and that's the now 8-7 jags who are on a 4 game losing streak after being 8-3 and were close to the AFC top seed. Baker is an average qb. A good backup. Not a franchise guy. He's played good the last two weeks yes, but before the last two games he was averaging 210 yards 1.4 tds and 1 int per game. Those are not great numbers. In this piss poor qb year where the top qb has 30 tds you can get excited. But people forget just 2 years ago multiple qbs were in the 40s and high 30s. 2023 is a very mediocre year for qbs. Also, in the jags game the bucs defense outplayed Baker. And if the bucs win the division, they will play the Eagles or Dallas in the wild card game. Both are matchup nightmares for Tampa. Eagles dominated bucs earlier in the year and this years Dallas team is better than the Dallas team that stomped the bucs in 2022 wildcard. "Shocking the world" would be going on a run IN THE PLAYOFFS. Now that's honest analysis. Goofs can say I'm a hater or whatever but this is just real talk. When people actually start being honest to themselves, they'll stop being so fair weather.
Without Baker, your Bucs are fighting for the first overall pick. You probably are one of those Florida/Trask homers that didn’t even want Baker to begin with.
@michael7066 if you got your head out of Baker's lap and took a breath, then oxygen would go back to you head and maybe you'd stop making dumbazz comments like that. 🤣
They've played fifteen games and he has eight Ints. Remove the past two games and he played thirteen games. That is less than an INT a game. At that point, he actually had 20 TDs and 8INTs,so more than a 2/1 ratio.
Great video, however, Deshaun Watson is not a "known predator", no matter what kangaroo courts called the media attempted to do. You Americans should be more concerned about your judicial system as it's clear that you guys really dont know what a justice system should function. I have no idea if he's innocent or guilty, which is the point...and neither do you. But great breakdown on Baker. The Browns did him terribly.
Watson was handed the benefit of the doubt due to his wealth and superstar status. If 30 women tell the same story, it’s either the best run conspiracy in history, or they’re telling the truth. With any Joe Schmoe facing his allegations, it’s a criminal trial and a guilty verdict. The Texans gave Watson NDA’s to have his masseuses sign. Everyone with eyeballs and brain cells knows Watson is an unrepentant predator, and it pleases me to no end that Joe Flacco has had leagues more success than him in Cleveland.

...aaaand another fall, as his 2 INTs doom the Bucs in the playoffs lol. He's just good enough to have a run of successful games and make people love him, then he falls apart. Then he rises back up again...only to crash again. He's Ryan Fitzpatrick 2.0.
Baker is definitely not a Pro-Bowl QB. Baker has played well compared to his previous seasons in the league, but compared to other NFC QBs in the league it's mid. There are too many good QBs on good teams. Baker has definitely earned a starting job somewhere in the league. We just have to see where he lands, and how well he fits into the offense.

Hey pal, love the content but you really do gotta do sth about your voice. Can barely sit through the video listening to it scraping my eardrums.
He needs to go wherever Belichick goes
Wait...Kliff Kingsbury lied? Totally untrue.
6:08 💀💀
Ive always thought he got a raw deal. Gets drafted into probably the worst organization in the nfl and the the bobbleheads on TV, like the imbecile Cowherd, just dog him. Unfortunately GMs buy into the hype and it can destroy careers. Good for him for proving them all wrong!
PAY BAKER!!!!
He is this years Geno
Comeback POTY? 🤔
Watson did nothing for Cleveland and you gave dude that much bag.
better add another fall in the title after today xD
Are you kidding me! FAU almost had baker! Omg! Why couldn’t we get him!?
Bipolar legacy still building
We saw Baker at the the Bolts with his Hottie girlfriend last night
crazy how many jump on and off baker wagon its a team sport giving.the qb to much praise or criticism doesn't make sense.
this guy think ou only been to the playoffs twice 😭he’s a casual
After that azz beating by the saints make sure you put fall again
Good QB victim of bad teams..think about it.
Keep in mind even the native Baker rationalists called the haters want him to be good ..just remember J dub’s 5k passing & Josh Freeman was gonna be signed after the 10-6 season AND even Barber said he could been good on the Patrick Petersen podcast….so keep going let’s see👍🏽💯
give him 60 mill a year for 6 years...or shut up TB
i guess they will probably shutup then
Got a feeling, a FALL is gonna occur again, but then a RISE, and then a FALL, and then a RISE , and then .........
BAKER ABOUT TO GET THE BAG ! LFG BAKER!!!!! FVCK THE BROWNS LMAO
I wouldn't want him on a big contract because of the inconsistency. I could see him lasting in a Dak Prescott type of role. Not the best pocket passer but able to manage games without being a snoozer.
Back to average or above. He's no flacco lol
@@michael7066 that's bullsh>t you a Bakerbuttpirate
@michael7066 if you got your head out of Baker's lap and took a breath, then oxygen would go back to you head and maybe you'd stop making dumbazz comments like that. 🤣
They've played fifteen games and he has eight Ints. Remove the past two games and he played thirteen games. That is less than an INT a game. At that point, he actually had 20 TDs and 8INTs,so more than a 2/1 ratio.
@@Sweet92879 🤣🤫
Shake and Bake Mayfield mfs
Browns played him bad! Thats the bottom line!!
Baker should go to the jets as a rods backup, and then take over the team in 2025. He’ll only be 30 when he gets a chance to start again.
Can we agree that he’s a pervert then
Watson was handed the benefit of the doubt due to his wealth and superstar status. If 30 women tell the same story, it’s either the best run conspiracy in history, or they’re telling the truth. With any Joe Schmoe facing his allegations, it’s a criminal trial and a guilty verdict. The Texans gave Watson NDA’s to have his masseuses sign. Everyone with eyeballs and brain cells knows Watson is an unrepentant predator, and it pleases me to no end that Joe Flacco has had leagues more success than him in Cleveland.
predator!!

Sit the fk down. Baker would still be QB1 of CLE if he just stfu and got the surgery in 2021.. INSTEAD he lied ( he even admitted this ) about the injury.. Guy is a scrub playing the WORST division in football.. Holy hell why this needs to be said is crazy.
Baker falls again 😂
Nice story except u called DeSean a predator. Watch ur mouth
Wrong analysis on how he left the Browns.
...aaaand another fall, as his 2 INTs doom the Bucs in the playoffs lol. He's just good enough to have a run of successful games and make people love him, then he falls apart. Then he rises back up again...only to crash again. He's Ryan Fitzpatrick 2.0.
under the radar "great" is an absurd statement
Forgot to mention that baker was a dick to his teammates and coach’s during the injury and that’s why he was traded.
Dude are you crying while making this hahaha hahaha hahaha
Hes a nugget
Baker is definitely not a Pro-Bowl QB. Baker has played well compared to his previous seasons in the league, but compared to other NFC QBs in the league it's mid. There are too many good QBs on good teams. Baker has definitely earned a starting job somewhere in the league. We just have to see where he lands, and how well he fits into the offense.
Why are you acting like the Buccs wont resign him
Baker is a dawg! I love me some Baker Mayfield and I believe he has found a home with the Tampa Bay and yes he is a pro bowler! Am glad he is still very young and we are going to have years of Baker Mayfield coming out way and I believe by the end of his football career he will be in the Hall of Fame! He is a true warrior and his charisma off and on the field get ppl to hate and love him he is a bleeping character old school mindset unlike the Patricks, Josh, or Lamars of the league! Am always going to root for baker especially when ppl hate on him for no reason that's the best!
@@shinykarp Buccs could resign him. He's also played well enough to sign elsewhere.
Baker playing better than mahomes
What a casual opinion
