@@TheDrowHistorian Yeah I was first introduced to Drizzt by a friend 25 ish years ago. And I fell in Love with R.A Salvatore Books about Drizzt and with Companions 🤓

I bought these books when they released in the 80s (I was a teenager when the first book released) and pretty much grew up with the series buying each book the week or so when it released. I did stop reading them around the Paths of darkness series though as I do not read like I used to. It always dissapointed me that the folks at D&D later misrepresented his swords in pictures as they are not Scimitars. Yes at the VERY end of the blade there is a slight curve but these swords are not true scimitars. Of course if you go and buy a representation of his swords, to for instance hang on your wall, you will not find true scimitars just these blades which more resembles sabers. True, these are not the blades he brought up from Menzo as those were destroyed by the light. Salvatore always described these two new swords as Scimitars. In my head and from my memory, especially in the Dark Elf triliogy, his swords were written as curved. The original covers of Streams of Silver and Halflings gem his sword more closely resemble true Scimitars. Anyway mini rant over. Awesome video man I enjoyed remembering some of the lore from my favorite books as a kid.
A lot of people have complained about the weapons not being scimitars. Thank you for writing a thoughtful commentary about it. I agree, and I’m not sure why they changed their shape. Maybe I can find some answer to that question. Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel. New videos every Monday! If you haven’t caught up on the books (we’re at 39 and counting now), the series is really awesome and the past several trilogies have been fantastic.
Twinkle was damaged, but was repaired by Cattie-Brie in the forge of Gauntlegrym by merging it with the drow sword known as Vidrinath, which was a blade wielded by Tiago Baenre and far superior to Twinkle. After the treatment of the Great Forge, it became a new weapon all together, but Drizzt seems to refer to it as Vidrinath now.
You may have missed my pinned comment but yes, I'll explore that evolution in a future video. It's definitely a cool part of the story. Tiago is a pretty awesome character too.
