Passive vent type house? don't know anything about that. Unfortunately the client wasn't clued up about things in the property. I was expecting a call when they found out something that was working before isn't working now.
@@eastwayelectrical a passive house is a type that basically has ducting from a central centrifugal fan that Draws stale air from each room to the fan which expels it outside and the fan also draws fresh air from outside which is sent via the fan and ducting into the rooms that are ducted. The reason being it cuts down on heating and cooling of a home and also with it being passive the windows are kept shut and the passive system stops the home becoming mouldy. The fan it to run 24/7 and is normally placed in a loft area or a voided area. Could that spur possibly run the fan. The customer would not know about it until the home starts to go mouldy. Hope this explains the passive house. Liked the video you fault find the same as me or shall I say used to as I have hung up my mega and cutters and retired.,
After spending ages trying to trace a 6mm circuit after a CU change and failing, we finally established that the old 32A shower circuit was connected to an FCU in the next room which in turn fed the macerator. The customer thought this was hilarious and asked if that meant he could do a 32 amp sh-t
could be, but it for the client to give this information. There are some good ideas in these comments that I didn't think of. However if the client doesn't know what should be working in there what can you do.
I did think of that looked through the window but couldn't see any thing. No way would it even come to my mind to go out there for a better look, it's ridiculous how that roofer just went out there like nothing!
When the customer asks if he has a tester to plug in to the bathroom socket, like no **** if he did he would of used it, let us do our job and get out the way
I wish I hadn't purchased the X1 3 times I've had to send it back. The readings are out and at times it's giving be results really slow. I should've purchased the Megger 1741+ or the Metrel M13152. My 1731 was pretty good and I would've still had it if my van hadn't been broken into. 🤬
@@scotisland Yeah I had the Metrel 3100S prior to the Megger which is essentially the same as the Martindale ET4000. The Metrel had the added Earth test function. Which I think the ET4500 has. That mft was great although it was thirsty for batteries 😂. I'll prolly end up selling the X1 and hoping to get the Metrel.
What’s with the bloke escaping out of the window half way through???! Did I imagine that? 😂😂
If you had turned everything off including the spur first off then you wouldn't have had to have pulled the place apart
Could it be to power a TV distribution amplifier hidden away in the loft space?
No one is talking about the fuse box fixed inside the wardrobe
lol what a great idea!
Makes it easier to dress the cables into the terminals 🤣
@@jamieb.lsfivepd9276😂😂😂
That's what I thought! I'm not an electrician but I hate the idea of any switches being mounted onto any movable furniture.
@@Jomo-x6nit's Victor's favourite feature.
Round pin 2 amp sockets were used for table lamps in pubs, hotels and cotrolled from wall switches , also seen them used for speakers
I'm guessing that spur does an outside light on what might be a balcony where the guy climbed out the window.
Attach a form of high frequency DC to the shorted out circuit and walk around the area with a coil and scope to find it.
Cable toner?
Is no one gonna mention the guy climbing out of the window half way through 😂😂😂
I saw that, was pissing myself, must of had enough 😅
5th floor too? 😂
It was the last electrician who the client had hired he couldnt escape !!!
You should have seen where he had to walk really narrow ledge don't know they do that. It made me feel queasy.
I seen him I thought they were filming a remake of confessions of a window cleaner.
Towel rail on other side or maybe an outdoor light or socket on what seems like a balcony
If its a passive vent type house could it possibly be for a central control air circulation fan in the loft. Just a guess.

@@chrisardern4594you're describing an MHVR system, no? Judging by age of the DB, the building would not have this system in place. In my opinion!
Round pin plug socket. Thats old!
not at all. you can still buy them as 5 amp sockets for lighting. in fact i have them for bed side lamps.
Could be a socket or a light up in the next floor or attic
Is there not a macerator in the bathroom ? Wonder if that's what's spured off it ?
Then again he would know if that had failed .

was the spur for the towel rail in the ensuite???
Good case for labelling the Switch
yep good idea thanks for watching.
Heated towel rail….
back next week then ,lol , we've all been there
I checked the towel rail and it wasn't that , well picked up though 👍

Spured off for outside light ?
@@eastwayelectrical non british here, i dont know if youre talking about it, but did you check if the heater in the bedroom works?

You had an option to use a cable finder and follow where the spare cable goes, you would easily find that, I would need to hire second electrician…

Towel rail or macerator?
The fault was on the Fuse spur I would of taken it out completely and put a blanking plate on instead but every one's different great work!
He did the easiest solution. Besides, maybe some day he will find out what isn't working anymore and decide he wants it fixed.
FIRST love the vids del keep it up

electric rad under window
These vids are a great watch still!
Underfloor heating 100%
its obviously the towel rail element
Stop using metal steps buy yourself a decent fiberglass pair
Had a good day today del . 👍. Good video
Towel rail spur
Another vid without fixing, just a bit of leccy tape, the next spark will be saying home owner, diyer or builder done the wiring
You can't fix something if you don't know what your fixing
I would trace the fault to exactly what was causing it. My conscience wouldn't let me walk away from that without knowing what caused the fault.
Gloves for fault finding .
Literally no downside to it here. And in the long term it'll keep his hands smooth.
I wear gloves to polish my sword.
