I’m a musician. When he said, “When you’re on stage, make sure you’re doing it to serve God and not to BE God.” Man that really resonated with me. Can’t wait to be a guest on your podcast one day Joe! 😎
He's right. I learned that early in my career. The bigger picture when it comes to music is serve what isn't of you to make the music better because when you serve what is of you it doesn't really work. When I'm at church I always pray to God to remind me to remove my ego so that I can be a vessel for your spirit to move into the music. When I'm playing secular music I remind myself that I'm on the bandstand to serve the singer(or sax player or etc) by creating a comfortable soundscape to relax enough to feel free to create, to serve my fellow supporting instrumentalists enough to give them enough room to get in where they can comfortably fit in and to serve the audience because they played for a show. The moment I learned that I got a ton of gigs. And mind you I'm a chops monster on drums but I had to learn to leave all of that at the door the moment it becomes more than me engaging in the experience...keep that chops stuff in the practice room when I'm by myself.
There is Sanskrit saying “Aham Brahmasmi” (one of the meaning) meaning “I am the universe”…the way I interpret is everything around one exist if one exists.
When "Fluffy" started out I watched a couple of his shows and found him really funny. There was a humility in his self-deprecating humor that I found honorable and respected. About a year ago I saw one of his recent shows and I was shocked at the change. I cant get past his tremendous ego enough to even try to enjoy his show. I really cant watch any of his new stuff for more than a couple of minutes without being turned off by it. I find that there's something truly off putting about people with inflated egos. At the same time a combination of humility and confidence can be a truly powerful thing.
Thank you Joe for having such a wonderful array of guests. Recently I’ve been able to take steps in my spiritual quest to find solace in the teachings of others. As a fellow entertainer, still achieving identify of self, this Podcast touched my soul in a way I can’t describe. In that, I’d like to say thank you.
In the Hindu faith there is no one singular way to reach Moksha the greatest state of human spirit. You can reach the state doing anything. Be it comedy, dance, cook, teach. Anything. You do it humbly you offer and feep everything you do is not centred around you but some higher being or force. They are talking about that without realizing what they are talking about.
This is why we have so much diversity in our religion.....There is no one god because you can reach to Moksha whatever touches you and in this universes we are all connected...something predatory religion like Christianity and Islam with one god will never understand....
With all due respect, your comedy can be better Joe, but we love you because you discovered and host the greatest podcast on the face of this planet and the best commentator in combat sports history.
03:20 recognize it too quickly because comedy in a weird way is a spiritual pursuit for the person who's making it because you're putting together thoughts and ideas and you're trying to get it into these people's minds in a way that elicits a response that makes them feel good and the only way that you could really do it is you have to hit those notes you have to reach that that resonance you have to find that frequency whatever it is that works on them and you can't be thinking about yourself
you all hear from eastern thought of the mind and ego, and that is to be killed. As long as we have a body we will have a mind and ego, It cant be killed. The only thing we can do, is to understand it so completely that we see where and what the 5 are commin from and what they wish to do. Its like your driving up toward a mountain, the vehicle and you have to be insync. That means keeping the windscreen clean, and making sure you stay on your path.
Opposite of a heart (light and warmth) and it's joy creating "spirit of love"...is a giant a**hole in space called ego and it's holy joy sucking "spirit of greed" (hate). For a vampire called greed to comprehend poets, artists, musicians, mystics, human beings and creators of joy...is like giant a**holes in space trying to comprehend the stars (light and warmth) that they suck out of heaven (joy, beauty and harmony).
I just did a video about covert narcissism on my channel. That's a big one. My brother is the creative director at Funimation. It is obnoxious behavior.

This dude is great - he knows so obviously, that Joe is full of himself - he is directly speaking to and about his inflated ego. And Joe does not really get it. Sad, I really liked to watch his podcast, but I cannot anymore. He seems lost to his 100 Mio. and to his "I made it with talking shit" and "I know how it works" "friends".
What kind of ego SHOULD Joe have in your mind? I think that you confuse the bad aspects of an "Ego" with a person who has drive and self-esteem. Joe's a fucking Billionaire who dresses like a slob every single day, and who doesn't hang with fake, rich, Hollywood types. Why don't you cite a person who has hundreds of millions, who acts like you think that people like this should act? I'd really like to hear from YOU, how it should be.

Hey Joe Rogan, you cannot ask for "proof" of events in other religions holy texts, this insinuates the fact that you believe, at a subconscious level, that your religion is more "realistic" whereas in reality if one has to be truly "practical" there is absolutely no proof that the events written in all religious texts of all religions actually occurred. Asking for proof of the events in the Bhagvat Gita shows your ignorance and a lack of wanting to accept the fact that the writings in the Bible also lacks proof of events. This whole thing goes 2 ways- either All Holy Books are considered proof and real in itself or they don't have any proof/realism cross the board. You cannot point fingers and ask proof of events belonging to one religion as you fail to realize that there is no proof of the events listed in your religion as well! Either the events in all Holy Books are considered as proof in itself or events written in all Holy Books aren't considered as proof in itself. You can't pick and choose, my man.
Any organized religion can produce some proof ,thats a tool of the trade ,but LORD KRSNA and SRILA PRABHUPADA are proving true along time ...more time goes by the more the truth is exposed as told by LORD KRSNA...
