Thanks for the very informative video. I run the Turbo 7's , but did not know how the 1 1/4 roller guides would work with the 1 1/2 blades. Been running 1 1/4 blades, but gonna try some 1 1/2 the next time i make a blade purchase.....
Interesting bit of info. I'm thinking about trying the Turbo's on my LT35 at some point have some 7/47 .045 to try. Know a guy that runs the Turbo 7's on his 35 in the .055 he likes them a lot.
If your mill has 25hp or higher, the 1 1/2 blade is the better option as it will have more beam strength to carry itself through the log. May have to move guide rollers back a bit as described in this video which is common when going from 1 1/4 blades. As i live and work on Canada's west coast, we do not see much in frozen wood but customers i deal with across Canada tend to use a straight 7° or as low as 4° which has a shallower gullet which works well in extreme winter conditions and hard woods. Hope this helps you!
That’s the info I needed. I am just about to try 1.5 Turbo 7 on my LT50. I’m going to use 1.25 rollers, but bought 1.5 pads, now I’m wondering if the same applies to them also. Should I stick with 1.25 Pads?
Thanks for the positive feedback! I would stick with the 1.25 wear pads as the 1.5 may make contact with the tooth set on the turbo 7 as blade moves back in the cut. It's been my experience that the 1.25 combo works best with the 7/39, 7/47
I sure am glad I run across you channel, a wealth of information.
Thankyou
Thank you
