lost hour & hours on an issue with a plugin that was installed correctly, but didn't show up in Logic Pro X. Even the service desk couldn't provide me the correct information (they mentioned that my files were sync'd with iCould - which they aren't) - out of respect and because they were actually very willing to help me, I will not mention them), but thanks to your advice about the Plug-in Manager (@03:30), I could FINALY get rid off the issue!! So thanks so much for the tutorial. Even it's 3 years old, your content still makes sense ! ;-) So, Yes ... thank you so much!

I have this problem too!
That plugin site isn’t “free” you get access to a plugin for 2 hours then get charged as a premium account that’s why they ask your credit card Just so you know

Great instructions and did what you asked. I also downloaded the cheatsheet as well. I restarted my laptop and reopened it up but nothing is showing in my AU instruments.

Thanks for the tutorial. Quick question. What if you don't see the manufacturer in the window pane on the left? I'm trying to use Native instrument's Komplete Kontrol and 8Dio. I don't see the 8Dio information and search doesn't find it. Not sure how to resolve this. Thanks for your help in advance.
Is there anywhere to get more specific help with this? I've tried downloading a few plugins and they are all in the components folder, but I don't see any of them under audio units. I've tried restarting my computer and logic a few times. Great instructions though!

Thanks for your very clear explanation. Do you know how I install plugin files with the .hr1 extension on Logic Pro X?
mine doesn't show up in the plugin manager at all... I've never had this issue before and now I'm super confused
it doesn't appear in Logic components. more over, the MAC file disapears from the Temper folder
That's a little frustrating. Have you downloaded the cheatsheet? This method has worked for us for many years so I'm confident it will work for you too!

Hey great instructions, i do have one concern tho. Is there anything else i have to download for my plugins to work? Because my mac says « no application is configured to open this document ». Is there anything i have to download or it’s supposed to work like that?

It sounds like you might be trying to open the plugins as a standalone program. Once you've installed them, open up Logic and the plugins should be available for you to use as per the video. Unless you're using bigger brand plugins (which usually make installation very easy), no other software should be required.
None of my folders have zips
I've been on BPB nd there's nothing free, and also everything is not so easy to download

Absolutely. They run the same OS so it might be that Macintosh HD icon is just hiding somewhere! Run a search for it and I'm sure it will pop up!

That's ok. All you need is the .component file. Stick that in components folder and you should be good to go!
I got a pkg how do I install this
Packages are different. Bigger brands tend to make installation and running plugins easier for us so they include their own software (package) which needs to be installed. Once installed though it should be good to go and available for you to use in Logic!

for whatever reason , only one vst shows up and ive downloaded about 5, i did the whole rescan thing but still nothing???????/
i noticed you replied to some posts about 12 hours ago..... i am hoping i dont have to as long as others for a reply.... im taking an online class and it doesnt troubleshoot the dumb stuff im going through right now, ive done every step, put the VST3 files in the vst3 folders, component files in their folders and such , and followed the instructions that came with the download as well no luck.
Hey Talanya! Sometimes a good old fashioned restart does the trick. It can kinda remind Logic to have a look for new plugins in the folder. Other than that I'd say make sure your plugins are suitable for Mac and come with that component file. You don't need VSTs for Logic.
