9th-gen owner here, mine is completely stock and your rev hang (or lack thereof) is spot on. I’d say let her drive your 10th for now while modding the 9th then you can always swap with her later
I think it's possible the horrifyingly bad rev hang from the 10th gen has shifted your perspective. Revs didn't seem to drop that fast on camera. I've never driven a 9th gen but I feel it's possible it doesn't have the amount of rev hang you remember. I love the fiddle around vlogs by the way. Keep up the good work!
Is the rev hang wayyy worse on the 10th? Id love to get one as a second car to tune and play around with. I just don't want to give up the reliability of the stock 9th gen. Although it's lowered with wheels and tires
Could be aftermarket clutch or flywheel. The privacy thing is pretty standard. Imagine a dealer could call to see if a vin was tuned just by asking about the VIN. Better to keep private.
I’ve got a 9th gen. You are shifting around 3-4K rpm, right before the rev hangs get pretty noticeable. If you quickly shift between 4-5k rpms (pre-vtec), the rev hang is very noticeable. This is dependent on if the car is warmed up or not, but you seem aware of this as you mentioned the coolant temp. I’d say your car is 100% on the factory map.
You're so happy every time you get in that 9th gen. Just have Vivian drive the 10th. Plus, you'll never run in to an issue where she's got the 9th gen parked at work when you're trying to film/do work on it.
I was watching the revs drop and it looks like it has the proper rev hang. It looks like the same as mine. Also ya you need to drive the 9th gen it’s definitely more your car than the 10th gen, you get way more excited about it lol.
Speaking from previously having two 8th gens, rev hang is markedly more dramatic on the 10th. I anticipate this is due to the combination of the electronic rev hang and the dual mass flywheel.
Forget the cat back. Do a K&N drop in filter for now. What I would do is get some Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 (most are on sale since 4 just came out). Would also get Spoon Rigid Collars, specially since that car was probably walloped in that accident. It will realign your subframes. Don’t forget to get one of those lifetime alignments at like Firestone or whatever, it’ll pay for itself in the long run. Btw I have a 7th, 9th, and 10th gen. For some reason the 9th feels more raw. Will be selling the 10th soon since I rarely drive it.
The 2015 has a narrow rim for an 18 inch wheel. It’s only 7.5” I’m afraid if you go 235 like the 10th gen the sidewalls will look bulgy. At the stock 225, the width is fine. It’s all about tires. Now, for the 12-13 Si’s they have 215/45/17 on a 7” wheel. 225 is the widest I would suggest without the sidewalls overly bulging. 215/45: --best all around tire, good look, good fit, good grip, good ride 225/45: --taller look, slower acceleration, slowest steering response, best grip, best ride Personally I’m sticking with the 215 and Pilot sport A/S 3,

Cameron Hill I love my 2020 and it is faster than my 2015 but there’s something more raw about the 2015. I do think they should have maybe had a vtec turbo for the 2020. I think that the vtec is a better built engine, but I’m not an expert by any means.

@@Camhill182 Well if you were a dealer buying the car from the one owner who's owned the car, you may want to inquire on whether or not that owner tuned the car. Yeah. N k24. Do intak manifold throttle body cold air first. What's those gains like. We want to see a all motor bulid. Done right on a budget. Like all of your veiwers would do if we had the money.
When you lock a ktuner for the first time it takes a back up of your map and name it as factory. It doesn't know man. It doesn't have a factory map stored for every car. Then if you say "restore to factory" it will just write the same map again.

@@Camhill182 Well if you were a dealer buying the car from the one owner who's owned the car, you may want to inquire on whether or not that owner tuned the car. If Ktuner gave you that info, that would easily prove the owner tuned it. Or, if you sold your car to someone without disclosing that it was tuned, maybe it suffers a failure later on, and they try to sue you. They can just email Ktuner and find out if you tuned the car.
Oops didn’t mean to message twice!! I thought the first didn’t go through! Lol take car brother’
You take care, too!
ktuner probably didnt want to tell you just because there's no proof that its your car
Supercharge it !
Oh I will
Just find someone with a 9th gen si bro and test it out easy
kinda lame that this is something a tenth gen civic si owner has to dedicate attention to, you're providing content for other owners nonetheless which I'm sure they really appreciate but holy damn it's all so damn underwhelming of a platform. i really only watch these vids to give more information to a friend who's new to cars and has a 2019 si and its all been very useful but damn I just feel like telling the guy to take the car back and get something else worth putting money/time into. Getting the ninth gen was a good move though on your part. You put out pretty good content, look forward to whatever other car/cars you get on the channel.
Im not sure whether to appreciate this comment or.. it sounds like you were unhappy with the 9th gen content, and then towards the end of your comment you said it was a good move on my part. Im not sure whats going in here
Cameron Hill I was ragging about how bad the rev hang on the 10th gen is that it’s got you thinking the 9th gen is tuned despite its revs looking normal. Looking forward to the 9th gen content, it’s way more rewarding working and putting time/money into the k24. My bad, definitely could’ve worded it all better.
Lol you’re good bro. I was confused. And i cant wait to get this thing tuned! Its gonna rip!
Naturally Aspirated😎
Yeah. N k24. Do intak manifold throttle body cold air first. What's those gains like. We want to see a all motor bulid. Done right on a budget. Like all of your veiwers would do if we had the money.
You make some crazy claims.. like money only and that a VIN cannot easily be traced to the owners.
I googled my VIN number. couldnt find anything about someone's name or address or anything like that

@@Camhill182 because you don't know how. Any insurance agent or company has complete access to that, as well as the BMV, etc etc
The problem is you😅😂😂
Thats just their way of saying- We are lazy and don't want to do it.
Rev hang can be checked above 5.000 rpm with first gear. If it is there you will hear it for sure.
Give Vivian the 9th
When you lock a ktuner for the first time it takes a back up of your map and name it as factory. It doesn't know man. It doesn't have a factory map stored for every car. Then if you say "restore to factory" it will just write the same map again.
