The hand gesture actually is not satanic as many people thought to be. You’re close but that’s the *Devil Horns* as its often called was made famous by Ronnie James Dio (from Rainbow, Black Sabbath and, of course, Dio). Ronnie told in an interview that he learned it from his grandma, the gesture was called *The Evil Eye* which translated as warding off evil and negativity. It goes along with the lyrics here as is about online bullying and fending off negativity or hatred towards someone.
I've recently come across them and even though I am not the biggest fan of rock, I have been MESMERIZED by these girls. And it is so sad that they're so underrated
Im glad u enjoy the song and mv. The song is about a witch hunt in modern society, revolving around all the cyber bullying towards idols. (Basically it talks about all the suicides and bullying with idol celebrities.). The producer for the girls music is Leez and Ollounder and it was the Ceo of Happyface who came up with the rock concept for the girls, primarily to make the girls stand out more and the girls like Rock music/metal music.
One of the things about kpop is that they can mix genres and styles of music any way they want. They mix languages, clothing styles. It's SO refreshing. (Also put on the subtitles: That voice that goes w the hand gesture says 'devil eyes come')
I would love to see you react to the album. Dystopia: The Tree of Language is Dreamcatcher's first full length studio album and it is filled with goodies! Red Sun is my favorite song on the album and just one of my favorite songs in general. Whew! That song brings out my stank face! I'm so happy you've found the girls and are sticking around. Dreamcatcher needs WAAAYYY more love!!
I totally agree, their music should be on video games or movies. Such a powerful sound. I get Muse vibes in the best possible way. These ladies are QUEENS.
I'm so amused that you mentioned medieval and Merlin - this concept/song is about medieval witch hunts in the middle ages which is also analogous to modern day witch hunts (the cuts with the tunnel of lights could be like fiber optic cables or just a nod to the internet in general) of cyberbullying. The lyrics are so dense once you get into them and start tying together all the threads. I think Sua was bare foot in that one scene towards the beginning because if you notice, she's on a pedestal - something like every idolized person on a pedestal still has feet made of clay, kind of representing the way that netz of everywhere idolize people and think they're perfect, until they're not, and thus starts the 'witch hunt'. I'm glad you're enjoying Dreamcatcher, and they do deserve more love, but I don't think they're underrated - they're definitely under *discovered* but once people find them, they're in - very rarely do people think that they aren't talented, they just haven't seen Dreamcatcher yet or know about them. That's changing slowly but surely, the fandom keeps growing every single comeback! You should also go back and watch the Nightmare story arc - starts with Chase Me, ends with Piri - since you kind of like the rock vibe.
Ho hum....just another banger for one of (if not the most) under appreciated groups in all of Kpop. The weird thing is you can’t even call them underrated because whoever ends up listen/watching them, they end up loving them, hence appreciated. Anyway, yeah a great song along with the typical outstanding mv’s! If you look at the lyrics the song is about the hate they (& all Kpop artists) get from haters & the fact that they just kind of have to take it... Some lyrics.... “It’s not fun at all for me...” “A target in randomness born out of the enlarged hate, Even though I swallow the rising thirst You say hypocrisy is all my fault... “ It’s such a great song but it’s sad on so many levels. Anyway, great reaction! And welcome to Insomnia!
Beyond the interpretation that each one wants to give, the girls have mentioned that the song is about the witch hunt. Knowing this, it is easy to interpret the lyrics!! Thanks for the reaction :)
You should check out more of dreamcatcher. Deep voice rapper is Dami, rap goddess. One of my very favorite kpop groups. Dig more into the lore, it's a lot. 👍
They are very underrated, which is so sad. THEY ARE FIRE!!!!!!!! I'm so happy you guys reacted to them again. Also I love your dynamic, you girls are hilarious!!!! lol
Dreamcatcher is my ult group and their album Dystopia is the best I have heard for so, so long. Dreamcatcher's lack of popularity makes me so sad. It seems like so many people know and see that they are talented but don't actually stan. I guess the concept doesn't grab a lot of kpop fans enough to look further into them and actually get to know the group. Most of their b-sides stray a little from their concept and I feel like way more people would stick around if they just delved a little further. Plus the girls are so funny and amazing. We must get them their first win with their next comeback, how Scream missed out is beyond me, but then IZ*ONE came back and their fandom is one of the MASSIVE ones. Such bad luck :(
Basically the song is about, how people can become almost possessed when interacting online. They can say the most hurtful and vile things to each other. Bullying, objectifying, harassing, and slandering each other without even blinking. And then the moment they turn the screen off, they forget the evil they just put into the world. Almost like they are possessed by a demon for the time they were online. This song is calling those actions out. It is saying that being the target of these comments makes them want to scream. The negativity feeds itself until people have lost who they were in it. The online community is something K-pop RARELY touches or calls out, since "netizens" (the community of online kpop fans both in Korea and worldwide) are the backbone of what songs are successful and which ones flop. So basically they are calling out the very people that choose whether they are successful or not. Not many songs in Kpop take a stance. Or have a message. Sometimes the whole "be yourself, you are beautiful", but the message is only delivered by people that are actually physically beautiful so it never REALLY rings true. This however, is a song with a statement that is needed and honorable. Dreamcatcher really got a lot of peoples attention with this song. From the music and production as well as the message.
Lol late to the party. They also released a Japanese single. You ladies need to react to their other stuff. What is my personal favorite but Piri, You and I, and so many others. Hell their B tracks are FIRE
I agree with the anime thing. A couple of their songs I’ve heard I’m like this could be an anime intro or outro lol Like “r.o.s.e blue” for example gives me ALL the anime vibes lol
Welcome to the Insomnia fandom. 😄 Deja Vu was a collab with a mobile game maker King's Raid. Scream is actually the start of a new story arc for Dreamcatcher. Here they're talking about dealing with negative comments and how the people posting them are hiding behind masks. If you're going all in, you'll have to start with their debut song Chase Me where they started a whole nightmare story which lasted up to early 2019 with Piri and Breakout.
i looooved your reaction!! this song and music video is the beginning of a new dreamcatcher story (they had a nightmare themed story that followed for a few mvs since their debut "chase me") and jiu (the leader, she has purple hair in this mv and had the blonde hair and a sword in deja vu) explained that the tree you can see in the video bears black fruit when it hears negative words and white fruit when it hears positive words (that's also why the album is called "dystopia: the tree of language" - you should definitely give it a listen! it's their first full album and it's simply amazing. they explored different genres, contributed to the album in multiple different ways like writing lyrics and creating choreos) and it's both a reaction and social commentary focused on online hate/bullying with a witch hunt inspired theme. also they just had a japanese comeback, it's their second japanese single and it's called "endless night" if you wanna check it out
This is the order of the MVs: -Chase me -Goodnight -Fly High (prequel of chase me) -You and I -What (the girls comes out from the nightmares) -Piri -Deja Vu (colaboration with a videogame called King's Raid) -Scream (New story) Japanese songs and MVs: -Breaking Out -Endless Night Alternate combacks and performances: -Chakra (cover) -Bang bang bang (cover) -Red Sun -Black or White -Sahara (a funny video that the girls did during the tours) (this three songs from the album Dystopia wich contains Endless Night and Scream) Bonus: Jazz Bar (video of the girls singing in a show)
You need to dig deep into the lyrics and you'll find that this song is really meaningful. That deep commanding voice, her name is Dami❤️ and the earlier song from dreamcatcher might suit your need. More pop rock element, they started to do this new sound cause they want to appeal more on Korea fans. Works like a charm👌🏻
Hi. Truly nice reaction ! Yes. I agree. Dreamcatcher is really unique and amazing kpop girl group. Dystopia by Dreamcatcher is the best album of the year so far ! Thanks. From N.Y.
I need you to listen to their album!!! (not necessarily for a reaction video) Don't miss out their vocals and amazing songs!! Album summary: witches drinking coffee in the middle of a desert! 😂
Okay, get a drink and get comfortable because this may get a little long... First, to answer a couple questions. The rappers are Gayheon, with the mask, and Dami, the one with the short hair and commanding voice. The hand sign with the 2 fingers up has a couple meanings. In western rock and metal they represent devil horns. In other cultures around the world it is considered to be a ward against evil. Considering the concept behind the song, I'm going to say that it's meant to be the latter in this video. The "arm things" on Siyoen's arms during the chorus (black outfits) are called bracers. Okay, it's video concept time... This song and MV are part of a growing trend where kpop stars speaking out against internet bullying and haters. The tree is not the tree of life, it's the tree of language. At the beginning we see the intro that says 'People forgot how to say nice things" and then we see the sky turn dark and the tree become corrupted. This is meant to represent how internet hate and bullying has polluted conversations. The white masks we see during the video represent the internet anonymity which gives these people the ability to say what they say without any real repercussions. As the song progresses, we start with "Please I don't want to scream", meaning they don't want to be hurt by the hateful words flung around the internet. Then we come to the middle of the song where they're singing "No more! No more! No More!", meaning they've had enough of the hate and they're not going to take to any more. At this point we see them in a circle with the white mask on the ground in the middle of the circle and they turn and walk away from the mask. This represents them putting the haters and all their hateful comments behind them. Walking away means they're not let them bother them any more. During the second half of the song, "Please I don't want to scream" turn into "I just want to make you scream!". They're done and now they're fighting back. If you rewatch the video, you may notice that one member of the group is wearing a black mask. That's not actually one of the members. It is a dancer they've hired to take the place of one of their members who is absent. People have started to call her the "Masked Dancer" (makes sense, right?) and she's been gaining some notoriety lately. The missing member is currently in China taking part in a music competition show called "Produce Idol". Because of delays while filming filming that program (mostly due to the virus scare), she could not make it to Korea to take part in this video. About Dreeamcatcher's videos... You're right, Dreamcatcher's video follow story arcs. Almost all of their videos are part of a continuing story. Scream is the start of a whole new story arc. They're first story arc is the the "Nightmare" series which tells a story of a group of boarding scholl girls who are cursed by the enigmatic "The Lady" and get turned into 'Nightmares' This arc starts with their debut MV Chase Me and continues on through to Piri, the final chapter in the story. There is a Japanese release called Breaking Out that some people call the final chapter while others call it an alternate ending. I'll leave it up to you to decide which it represents for yourself. Deja Vu is the one exception to the story arc rule. It was a one off done in collaboration with a mobile game company, but you probably already knew that from the comments in your previous reaction. If you do decide to do more Dreamcatcher reactions, I *HIGHLY* recommend that you react to the videos in release order. This way you experience the story as it was meant to be seen and you'll have a much better chance of figuring out what's going on. About Dreamcatcher... I won't get into names and positions and all the standard information stuff here. I'm sure others have more than covered enough of that. What I will tell you is that this group is super talented, as you can see, but they aren't limited to the kpop/rock concept that you see in there MV's. They're capable of doing so much more. There are a ton of "Special Clips" on their channel where they cover several songs from other artists, of many different styles, and they do a great job of it. There are also some solo work from the members. and of course there's like a bajillion clips on Youtbute of them doing amazing performances, dancing like they were born to it and / or just generally being complete crackheads. If you're really interested in Dreamcatcher, I suggest that you spend a little time on their channel and check them out. Save the official MV's for your reactions, but for the rest, I'll leave that up to you as to whether you react to them or just watch them in your own free time. Last but not least; As has been suggested, you REALLY need to check out their latest album, Dystopia. it's pretty amazing. The songs cover several genres and the music overall is really, REALLy good. Again, if you do this on your own or make it an official reaction is entirely up to you. Told you it was going to be long...
One of the rappers when you asked who’s she that’s/commanding voice DAMI! My sweet angel dami. Sadly one of the members isn’t in this comeback which is Handong causes she’s doing a show. Theres a girl in a mask in the scenes. Also you should 100% watch Endless night which is Jrock. They are Halloween all year long. This is like witch vampire esk (especially if you watch red sun)
LONG INFO DUMP ON GROUP COMING! (sorry for the long post): Members are Jiu, Siyeon, SuA, Yoohyeon, Dami, Handong & Gahyeon. Dreamcatcher started out as a 5 member group called MINX with Jiu, Siyeon, SuA, Yoohyeon & Dami under Happy Face Entertainment (now called Dreamcatcher Company) with a completely different look & sound. Minx debuted in September 2014 with the single Why Did You Come to My Home?: ruclips.net/video/wqiEAod0LYI/видео.html, their only mini album Love Shake came out July 2015 with the single Love Shake: ruclips.net/video/iLXyoC2HRgY/видео.html. Unfortunately MINX flopped & instead of disbanding them like most companies would Happy Face reformed them. 2 members were added (Gahyeon & Handong. Handong is currently busy/on hiatus in china, she was represented in the SCREAM MV by the 7th girl in the mask, they saved a spot for her in the choreo for whenever she gets back) making the group 7 members (all the original MINX members are still in the group), they were renamed Dreamcatcher & their whole concept/look/sound was changed. They re-debuted as Dreamcatcher in January 2017 with their single Chase Me from their single album Nightmare, their 2nd single Good Night from their 2nd single album Nightmare: Fall Asleep in the Mirror came after that in April 2017. There's one storyline in all their mv's from Chase Me to Piri & ends with Piri. Deja Vu was a collab with the mobile game King's Raid & Scream is the start of a new story. MV's in Order (this is the release order & order for the Nightmare storyline): Chase Me: ruclips.net/video/zihoyz0u_cs/видео.html Good Night: ruclips.net/video/Lxfl8LRab_I/видео.html Fly High (Prequel to the story): ruclips.net/video/39yeTdIuKJU/видео.html You and I: ruclips.net/video/LFxjwBfFIiY/видео.html What: ruclips.net/video/pN0dkjp1deQ/видео.html Piri (end of nightmare story): ruclips.net/video/Pq_mbTSR-a0/видео.html Deja Vu (King's Raid collab) Paradise (Siyeon's solo debut): ruclips.net/video/BuaGs9W6Un8/видео.html Scream (start of a new story) Not part of the story: Full Moon (fan song released in 2018 for their first anniversary): ruclips.net/video/G1ojcRTiu5g/видео.html Over the Sky (another fan song released in 2019 for their second anniversary): ruclips.net/video/3F2nRTyVPGo/видео.html Their Japanese mv's in order: Breaking Out Endless Night
You had me at Final Fantasy. Yall should check out Sahara and Red Sun by them. Also, check out Dice and Domination (Live) by Band-Maid...an all-female JRock band.
Aaahhhhh I love you two so much! You just filled the entire Dreamcatcher reaction bingo board in rapidfire XD This is Rock! ⭕ AND Rap?! ⭕ MOST UNDERRATED ⭕ SO UNIQUE ⭕ Anime soundtrack ⭕ Concept Queens ⭕ What is the story?! ⭕ Vocals ⭕ Her voice is so deep ⭕ Powerful yet Delicate ⭕ The choreo tho ⭕ I about lost it when you said they are the most underrated group you know. I think you are now officially InSomnia (that's the fandom name) :D Which means you definitely need to catch up on their title tracks ^_^ I knew I was gonna like this video before I clicked on it, but damn
Who is she? That's Dami the main rapper. If you've only seen Deja Vu then you haven't heard her rap before. Deja Vu is their only title track in which she didn't rap but had singing lines instead. You should go back and react to their earlier songs starting with their debut Chase Me. New Japanese release here: ruclips.net/video/wCALuFy2YVI/видео.html Full on metal rock.
Dami has one of the most deep unique voices for rap and it so perfectly fits into their darker music. She SLAYED the album too. I have her part in "Black or White" on repeat, sooooo good.
Please react to their album "Dystopia:Tree of Language" this album is easily the best for 2020 so far..in this album they literally changes genres in every song from rock to hiphop, jazz, funk, rnb, and edm. Please check it out, it is worth your time i swear #StanTalent #StanDreamcatcher
Hi. I definitely agree with u guys. They're really underated thought they deserve a lot more than this. Also I love u guys so much. It's just a suggestion. Why don't u react to their covers? They're fireeeee. Like Havana or taki taki or 2019 boy group dances. Anyway. Hope u guys love them.❤️
Thanks for reacting to Dreamcatcher! I've started binge watching the rest of your reactions too 👏 Please checkout 3YE, I think you'll like their recent songs.
The Multiverse can U guys watch "Endless Night" already? If U not, please check out japanesse DC comeback with that song, and of course previous with "Breaking out"... but... I see U start like them, soo please react more to their previous mv but also dance covers and side tracks and crackheads... and of course guide :D \m/
Hey guys can you react to Oneus twilight it’s a different type of song people love or hate it I love it and once again awesome reaction keep up the good work 😃💯
Their concept is too heavy for Korea, (they would prefer Twice) so people there do not really care as much. However they have more international fans., and have performed in other countries. I agree they are deeply underrated.
It goes along with the lyrics here as is about online bullying and fending off negativity or hatred towards someone.
also the girls have mentioned that the song is about the witch hunt!! :)
full of petals oh yea that’s right!! Thanks for reminding that lol
Dreamcatcher already comeback again with new Japanese single, Endless Night
I've recently come across them and even though I am not the biggest fan of rock, I have been MESMERIZED by these girls. And it is so sad that they're so underrated
Funny that you mentioned Aragorn, since the sword they have in this one is a replica of his sword XD
Im glad u enjoy the song and mv. The song is about a witch hunt in modern society, revolving around all the cyber bullying towards idols.
Dami = short hair "commanding voice "😏
I totally agree, their music should be on video games or movies. Such a powerful sound. I get Muse vibes in the best possible way. These ladies are QUEENS.

Yayy!!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SONG!!!! THE ALBUM IS SOOOO GOOODD!!!!
When I heard scream..I thought it was hard,
Then I heard Endless Night.
I have been saying the same thing about Dreamcatcher. They are the most underrated group there is.
You guys are amazing. You like all the groups that I absolutely love. Dreamcatcher is a real underrated group and they are amazing live!
Ho hum....just another banger for one of (if not the most) under appreciated groups in all of Kpop. I would watch their Special Clips in your free time. They have such beautiful voices, individually.
Beyond the interpretation that each one wants to give, the girls have mentioned that the song is about the witch hunt. Knowing this, it is easy to interpret the lyrics!! Thanks for the reaction :)

The masked dancer in this video is Handong's place holder while she is in China (doing a idol show)

3:36 it's mean devil/haters...bcuz this song is describe they're haters...
Oooooh that makes sense.

MV's in Order (this is the release order & order for the Nightmare storyline):

I about lost it when you said they are the most underrated group you know.
Awesome! 🖤✌️
Short haired rapper is dami
Yeah...she's our bias now.

Their concept is too heavy for Korea, (they would prefer Twice) so people there do not really care as much.
However they have more international fans., and have performed in other countries. I agree they are deeply underrated.
React a rocket punch bouncy
