I’m English and we’ll miss him too but more in commentary than the cricket. I dreaded when he got the ball in hand but the mike he was funny and knew his stuff. He was entertaining and a bit of a larakin that made him loved despite destroying us again and again.
One of those few sports people and personalities to transcend his home team or nationality. People from anywhere in the world with even just a passing knowledge of cricket would know who he was, want to watch him play and hear what he had to say. That's a true legend. RIP mate.
you often hear about great sledging banter years after the game. its pretty clever stuff and brings a smile to myself. thanks Warne for this interview (Gary from NZ)
0:25 I’m so glad Warnie pointed out there’s a big difference between mental health and struggling to hit a ball. Because some fools out there would claim he’s belittling men for seeking help. When he was doing no such thing. What he was doing was getting in the head of someone who had told him he was living there rent free.
That is what Michael Jordon did on the basketball court as well. He would look for something to amp himself up for the game when there wasn't any thing at all.
I think I probably started to really get into test cricket around the 93 Ashes tour. That Australia team struck me as a bunch of guys you would not want to owe money to, lol. As much as I was impressed by some and amazed by others, I'd have to say my favourite player was Boony. Can't explain it, just loved watching the guy.
Interesting where the term sledging comes from........percy sledge wrote a song "when a man loves a woman" at the time of an ashes series ,one of the English batsmans wife had an affair and it was all over the newspapers... when he went out to bat the aussies started singing "when a man loves a woman" ... by percy sledge...... hence the term sledging
Great leg spinner. And one of the best hairstyles in the cricket world. His hair got thicker by the day! RIP Shane Warne. You made a boring sport, entertainment again ...........
Miss you Shane may you rest in peace 😢and poor old Daryl cullinan remember when Shane once said he was like a rabbit 🐰 caught in headlights pure brilliance 😂🏴☝️🙏🙏
After Victor Trumper had batted all day for another ton, one of the Poms accused him of being a cheat because his bat was wider than regulation. Trumper's reply: 'you orta know, you've been looking at it all day'.
My favourite one was Steve Waugh was playing for the New South Wales team. And just taking his time to find centre. At which point some nufty on the other team called out. “It’s not a bloody test match mate!” To which Steve Waugh replied “Obviously it’s not, you’re here.”
It was James Ormond: James Ormond arrived at the crease to bat against the Aussies, Mark Waugh greeted him with: "What are you doing out here? You're too s**t to play for England!" Ormond’s response? "Maybe so, but at least I'm the best player in my family".
Can't believe Kevin Pietersen would ever rise to the bait. He's such an amiable, equable, likeable, well mannered bloke after all. (Graham Norton suggested to him diplomatically: "Team sports - not for you?" See about 2mins 30secs into this: ruclips.net/video/AWSxmXIxwGU/видео.html)
Isn't that just the Australian way. If you aren't any good at something then you resort to starting a fight with words or fists. Pretty soon, you get found out though.
part of the game i guess.. but when India does it to them, and actually got the better of them and eventually won the series, they call truce.. don’t get it??!!
niru9886 0 seconds ago Most overrated bowler in history.. a poor record against India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Took a bunch of wickets against teams who couldn't play spin bowling in general. And abused drugs right throughout his career. His addiction to cheating with performance-enhancing drugs led to his premature death. He can use performance-enhancing drugs to help him in the bedroom, but he couldn't use it to be the world's leading wicket-taker... such a shame.. aussie druggo boguns. should be stripped of all his wickets disgrace to the game. Why are you whining about something no one even said anything about?
@@dane21dcwhy are you replying to something over a year later. Seek help sweetie.
@@troystaunton254 There’s a statute of limitations on when you can reply? Anyway, it’s been a year, hasn’t anyone belittled what he said yet?
@@dane21dc seek mental help ASAP you are not well in the head

You had to be there i think.
Without sledging what's the point? Imagine Sunday cricket without sledging absolute waste of time.
Sledging is not sport, it's sick.
As a south African We all loved to hate warne....
RIP u fkn legend
Warne was great at delivering a jab or two!!! Receiving a jab or two? Different story. Trust the science.
RIP Warney from proud Pom
An Australian being proud of sledging. Nothing new to see here folks.
Good old Warnie. He was a funny dude. 😔
🤣🤣🤣
Back door Warney.

"get the Vaccine" great sledge Warney.
lol
Just a person, no better than anyone else. Bad off field behaviour is his legacy.
😂😂😂😂you are funny
He was on a health kick, sad
🥰🥰🥰💔💔💔😭😭😭😇😇😇

Bullying
Was jabbing everything that had a pulse until he got jabbed.
It is bullying and should not be acceptable.
He attacked Steve Waugh 37 times after retirement , some gentleman lol what a joke and ruined 3 marriages
It's a joke alright,I don't know what everyones raving on about,I think he had a heart attack snorting to much cocaine 🥴😵💫

The Aussie way of playing cricket...when you run out of talent pick up a fight speaks volumes.
Warnie the Sledgend!
