Good morning from Nairobi Kenya @newtechvivasayi7925 . Several varieties for long rains yield highly. We have been able to get upto 96 bags per acre by planting 0.1 of an acre then multiply by 10. Some farmers have practically harvested 62, 65, 73 80 bags. The trick is to work towards each plant yielding their best I will post some results of about 6 varieties.
Standard recommendation is 0.00184grammes per plant applied in 2 splits. At 6 weeks and 2 weeks later. If you use Urea which is 46%N it will be 4 grammes per plant. So depending on plant population, if it is 25cm x 75cm , you will need 215kg. So you need to suggest the type of fertilizer you want to use and share the NPK ratio written on the bag. We will calculate for you. Also very important is you check ph level of your soil.
What Ather fertilizers can we start with, before applying top dressing our maize with urea ?
