As usual, even without having much screentime, Aaravos is absolutely the star of every scene he's in (pun intended). I got chills when he said, "Tomorrow, the sun will rise, and you will not." I placed my bets on him being released at the end of this season though, and was surprised that it didn't happen. At this point, with the way things are going, I wonder if it's going to end up being Callum who does it.
I was kinda disappointed that he didn't get released at the end of this season. It makes me worry that his release and defeat will be abrupt, and I'd really like a whole season with him being free.

He teased at the time that he had already recorded all his stuff for seasons 6 and 7, and joked that he was going to submit himself for an Emmy because he got to do a lot of "emotional" and "powerful" stuff during those seasons (specifically the end of season 6 and ALL of season 7, he qualified). I don't know when Aaravos is going to get freed obviously, but based on that interview I have some confidence that we're at least digging more deeply into his character and that he's probably going to start coming more into focus in the next season.
@@kureosk8 Viren's not dead. Claudia losing her leg technically fulfils the "blood of child" part of the spell. Now it's just a case of Aaravos deciding to do the rest of it whilst knowing that Viren's not going to be his puppet anymore.

Viren died at the end of season 3, and on her own Claudia would almost certainly not be inclined to help Aaravos 'just because'. So what does Aaravos do? He teaches Claudia the spell to bring Viren back... and then informs her of some arbitrary ticking clock, specifically 30 days, for her to reach his prison and release him so that he can finish saving Viren permanently. Now consider this; Claudia is likely too distraught and not thinking clearly after reviving her father and being informed of this very brief ticking clock so she wouldn't be clear headed enough to recognize it... but Aaravos demonstrates at the end of Season 5 that he could _always_ have saved Viren at any time because the spell to do it doesn't require Aaravos to be physically present, it just requires the 'blood of a child' and for Viren to make the sacrifice. Simply put, getting to Aaravos was _never_ a requirement for Viren to be saved, but instead was likely just thrown in as a means of motivating Claudia to do all the work finding his prison. And given the specific time frame, it could be that Aaravos needs things to be done within a certain time, maybe something to do with some sort of stellar or astronomical event, and thus wants to give Viren and Claudia a kick in the butt to get moving. So basically... yeah, I doubt that Viren is dead. It's left way too ambiguous at the end of Season 5, with him curling up on the ground and trying to get to sleep, fully aware that he's not going to wake up... yet we get no confirmation, no final breath, nothing. Couple this with there being a ton of lose ends as far as Viren's story is concerned, and him dying here makes absolutely no narrative sense. Sure, I suppose you could argue it would 'subvert expectations', but it would be poor storytelling to have all this happen to Viren over the season, and then just have it end. And for people claiming that Aaravos doesn't lie and thus wouldn't lie about this, well whose the one who told us that? Aaravos himself... and why oh why would he ever lie about never lying? Or perhaps he was lying all along about never lying, which a master manipulator would absolutely do. So yeah, I am 100% sure Viren isn't dead, and I can almost (99%) guarantee that the cold open for episode 1 of Season 6 is going to be Viren suddenly waking up and realizing 'hey, why aren't I dead?!" I'm calling it now
The season left me with a feeling of ”Oh, shit.”. I started thinking how many layers Aaravos’ plan has. Because let’s be real here, he’s set more things in motion than just Claudia’s descent. Last we saw Viren was dying, but until the next season shows Viren’s corpse there’s a chance he might change his Mind….. And even if he doesn’t I wouldn’t be surprised if Aaravos had some kind of back up plan going on….. Possibly involving Callum.
Honestly, with the ending clip with Viren, part of me is wondering if Aaravos was being truthful about the 30 day time limit and he actually had another motive for getting Viren to sacrifice the star child.
I appears to me that Aaravos doesn't much care who finds him first. Claudia is a valuable tool, but should the others recover his prison first, he will most likely posess Callum to free himself. Once he is free he has no more need for any of them.

I wish we can see more of Aaravos in the next season. I want to know more of his backstory AND for him to call out the protagonists. He did it in season 4 and he'll certainly do it again Also, I hope that he tells Soren about his half-sibling, Sir Sparklepuff. I wanna see Soren's reaction to that

I agree with your theory! Elarion is a girl’s name that means “joyful”, her passing could signify the end of his happiness that led him down this path. However if she is the woman with the Aaravos statue then their love might’ve been more platonic than romantic as to me the statue gives me ‘student and master’ vibe/‘beginning of a friendship’ vibe since it looks like she’s reaching out to him to lift him up. This ofc doesn’t diminish what we’ve said previously because I’m sure the death of a platonic lover can still lead someone to a dark path!
The problem I have with Aavaros is that the creators keep telling us that he's complicated, a Prometheus figure, etc, but so far actions and behaviour are straightfowardly evil. Don't get me wrong, he's undeniably charming, but I don't see in him any redeeming qualities from a moral standpoint. We two seasons to go so it might change, but still I'd expect some inkling of him being something more than a typical villain by now.
I love Aaravos the way he is. We've got plenty of complex villains in media and The Dragon Prince has proven that it can excel in that regard with Viren and Claudia. It's refreshing to see a character who's basically just Satan. I haven't seen that since Darth Sidious in Star Wars because everybody's so concerned about making villains relatable. Sometimes pure evil is all you need so I don't want Aaravos to become sympathetic. You're not supposed to sympathise with the Devil.

It's more about my impresssion that presenting him as an embodiment of evil isn't the creators' intention. If you look at their comments and interviews, they tend to paint him as a Prometheus/Lucifer figure. Actually, at this point in the series, I'd much prefer for him to just be evil because I fear that they might not have enough time to actual provide him with a good justification for his actions.

So Aaravos is able in vade dreams for shiggles. What if he planted those dreams in Rayla's head back in TTM to get her back for ruining the plan at the storm spire? He didn't intend her to run away and couldn't care less about her relationship with Callum, it was really just to make her suffer.
I am hoping we'll get more context to Aaravos ' backstory. Moreso than what Zubeia gave his last season because, let's be real, hers was pretty one-sided, and I am curious to see how and more on why Aaravos came to be the "great evil" that he is. Because from what I've seen so far, the guy just looks like he enjoys watching the show he creates by doing his manipulations and such.
I honestly kind of want Aaravos to be sort of a Dark Promethean figure, who actually finds humanity more interesting and fascinating and opts to help them. Not necessarily for altruistic reasons, but because maybe he gets a bit of a kick out of watching the uppity elves and the arrogant dragons get brought down by such a 'lowly' race like humans. And I think it would add a bit more fun and nuance to his character if we actually find out that, twisted though it may be, he has a soft spot for humans. Also, wasn't Aaravos one of the Great Ones, supposedly one of the first beings and even was supposed to have had a hand in the creation of the world or something (or am I misremembering that)? If that's the case... what if the very creation of humanity was... Aaravos? He could view humanity as his children of a sort, and thus seek to aid them in first becoming equals to the elves and dragons... and then, through his manipulations, ultimately dominate and supplant them? Again, it would be a rather interesting twist if the main cast finds this all out about him... it would add a bit of conflict when some of the human characters feel kind of conflicted once they learn that.
During the finale of Aaravos, I want to see Aaravos at his lowest point, to see him break down in rage and madness and slowly accept his defeat. He has always acted superior so It would be very interesting to see him realize he might not escape or he might actually DIE and have his immortality stripped away. Also, I really hope they go the novablade route to kill him. (Idk If this sounds right but you get what I'm saying? I hope we get to see him get some time to shine because its seems like he is getting released next season. Also, the part where he said that sir sparklepuff or whatever was he and Virens child was kinda weird and I'm actually somewhat surprised that Viren decided not to kill the thing. It also seemed Aaravos was shocked that he didn't do so and was kinda annoyed that he did all that just to die. Aaravos definitely has some sort of connection with Viren (and maybe even felt a little betrayed?).. Viren's visions while he was unconscious was also really interesting to dive into more of his character and morality.
I thought Aaravos would get released by Claudia so that season 6 would be about the quest for the novablade. I just find it really strange that Aaravos didn't talk to Claudia at all. He doesn't seem to care about her, but he clearly wanted Viren alive. Why?
@@everythinggirly916 I was thinking about it as well. But I suspect maybe the reason is that Aaravos has larger scale plans that Claudia doesn't fit into. And what I mean by that is, Aaravos knows Claudia is powerful --- more so than Viren for that matter. But Aaravos targeted Viren because he was "hungry for knowledge and power." Whereas I think he knows that Claudia's main driver is her family. She acts out of love and a fear of being alone/abandoned, not out of ambition or even curiosity. That means he probably views her as less useful for creating the kind of chaos he wants to see. It seems like he might not have planned on Viren backing out at the last minute. Regardless of whether this is the end of Viren or not, I feel like Callum is where he's going to set his sights next.

Now that I think about it, he didn't urge Viren to free him during seasons 1-3. I think that if Aaravos gets freed, he'll want to start a war between humans and elves again. And he knows that Viren is a better leader than Claudia. As for Callum, he's the bridge between humans and elves, so Aaravos might want to use him to start this conflict. That's just my wild speculation, though.

Aaravos definitely strikes me as a very meticulous villain. He plans everything out carefully and even has contingencies for his contingencies. No matter what the heroes try to do, the pieces will fall into place as needed. He is going to get out, it's just a matter of when. But I want to know. What is his end game here? Mindless chaos throughout the land? World conquest? Maybe even godhood?
Aaravos as always is moving in the background doing his evil thing. He is very strong and evil. He will take total dominance in the next 2 season. Be patient everyone will get their full taste of this dude in due time. Whew! Also what did Aaravos really mean that he swallowed Jania's grandmother. unless Aaravos has the power to become a Star dragon if that is possible. Wow!
When their child was a big worm and viren caught Zym, aaravos casted a spell to help viren. As u may know dark magic spells are reversed and in that moment if you reverse this spell you'll hear something like "ill swallow your heart, ill swallow your mind, ill swallow your power" so in a way he didn't physically swallow anyone, he just took away their life and gave this extra strength to himself.
A possible backstory: Aaravos may have started life as a dragon 🐉 at the beginning of time. When the dragons were first created, they sharpened their skills and might by competing in battling sports (kind of Pokemon). He also shared a brotherly bond with the dragon of the Sky 🌌 Arcanum Avizandum. Dragon Aaravos was a skillful battler, but lately, all he cared about was winning and power. Therefore, he wanted to be the most powerful dragon in the universe with no one to stop him. When this has gone far enough, his “brother” Avizandum stopped him. Aligned with the elves 🧝♂️, the Archdragons stripped Aaravos of his dragon 🐉 powers and turned him into an elf 🧝♂️ before sending him away to a magical dimension 🪞. But Aaravos swore revenge 😡, claiming Xadia would be his. He also wants to get back at his “brother” Avizandum and the other dragons 🐉 for betraying him.
I thought this was corny until I remember Aaravos said “I swallowed her” He might have been a star touched dragon at one point. Somehow most of the power was taken away.
Probably someone sayed this before me, but I say from my perspective 🤔. Aaravos as a person, in his character, names (he has few of them), actions, abilities, methods to achieve his goals, relations to other persons, etc. is so similar to: * Gabriel Agreste from "Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir" * Melkor/Morgoth and Sauron from "The Lord of the Rings", "Silmarilion" (generally all of J.R.R Tolkien's universum 😉) * Lucifer/Satan from the Bible (christianity, some part of judaism) Conclude, when someone (maybe child 😀) will question me: Who is the Devil?, I'll show him Aaravos. (I know, maybe my english little sucks, but I hope that this text is understandable 😅)

On other side, Aaravos isn't positive person and his gift which look positive, in fact is clear example of Aaravos sinistery. Shortly, Xadians have connection with one magic element. Humans none, but they have potential to connect more than one element, if they understand element's Arcanum (Callum showed it). Black magic is easier way, but easier don't always mean better. Ok, few times black magic helped humans, but in a broader perspective gave him more problems and worries. Because black magic: *hides from human's eyes his true power *is cruel and criminal in his nature (power for life of living beings) *in far, is destructive for user's body and soul (Viren and Claudia) *escalated conflict between humans and Xadians (which know true nature of black magic) *mentioned above finished exile humans from Xadia This show that Aaravos isn't human's friend (as he present to others), if he is, he probably will help people to understand element's Arcanum. And even if he never lie, as he said (which I doubt) this doesn't mean that he isn't liar.

But when I saw the mystery of erebos (edit: That's the Greek name, forgot to use "Aaravos" here) and I thought okay so he's going to be a regular now? ... Right? ...... R-right?
So The white ghostly spirit version of Aaravos was his consciousness, I figured it was something like that. I also believe that him able to project his consciousness into xadia or the ability to do so must have something to do with the startouched hybrid.
Aavaros is cool as it stands but i do hope there is more to his motivations and there are certainly hints to that. This knowledge of a star elf dying in the past may well be what sent him down this dark route and turned him bitter against dragons and elves. Hoping for some more depth to the dragon/aavaros history because as it stands he is cool but the characters charisma is doing a lot of heavy lifting currently as we have nothing concrete to counter the current perspective of him being generic evil ancient villain. But i think the breadcrumbs are there fingers crossed. Long wait to find out though
I think his prison is Void. Not basic mirror. Seems like his goal is vengeance. Not destroy everything. But his weapon is manipulation, deceiving. You need threat him with same way. He look like devil in the void. I feel hatred. He hate dragons. Dragons has no real knowledge but ego.
Really late, he talk about deep magic, really old and primal type of magic, probably only startouch creatures and maybe really powerful mages know how to use it.
ok so 1 book for every type of Arcanum Every type of magic, if callum is being brought up into being the worlds most powerful mage, it would stand to reason by the end of the series he would learn to use all the natural magic, including star magic, (BUT HEY THATS JUST A THEORY! 💀

Dark magic in this universe requires draining a magical creature, right? Maybe in order to carry put some dark ritual, he used Aditi. I don't think it ever specified the creature had to be an animal, just magic in nature.
I feel like the show wastes A LOT of time with unneccessary scenes. Show me Aaravos and Viren going through a crisis, not Claudia and her sacrificial lamb doing absolutely nothing.

However if she is the woman with the Aaravos statue then their love might’ve been more platonic than romantic as to me the statue gives me ‘student and master’ vibe/‘beginning of a friendship’ vibe since it looks like she’s reaching out to him to lift him up. This ofc doesn’t diminish what we’ve said previously because I’m sure the death of a platonic lover can still lead someone to a dark path!

The problem I have with Aavaros is that the creators keep telling us that he's complicated, a Prometheus figure, etc, but so far actions and behaviour are straightfowardly evil. Don't get me wrong, he's undeniably charming, but I don't see in him any redeeming qualities from a moral standpoint. We two seasons to go so it might change, but still I'd expect some inkling of him being something more than a typical villain by now.

I love Aaravos the way he is. We've got plenty of complex villains in media and The Dragon Prince has proven that it can excel in that regard with Viren and Claudia. It's refreshing to see a character who's basically just Satan. I haven't seen that since Darth Sidious in Star Wars because everybody's so concerned about making villains relatable. Sometimes pure evil is all you need so I don't want Aaravos to become sympathetic. You're not supposed to sympathise with the Devil.
@@tomnorton4277 I don't mind the way in which Aaravos has been presented so far. Far be it from me. It's more about my impresssion that presenting him as an embodiment of evil isn't the creators' intention. If you look at their comments and interviews, they tend to paint him as a Prometheus/Lucifer figure. Actually, at this point in the series, I'd much prefer for him to just be evil because I fear that they might not have enough time to actual provide him with a good justification for his actions.

So Aaravos is able in vade dreams for shiggles. What if he planted those dreams in Rayla's head back in TTM to get her back for ruining the plan at the storm spire? He didn't intend her to run away and couldn't care less about her relationship with Callum, it was really just to make her suffer.
I am hoping we'll get more context to Aaravos ' backstory. Moreso than what Zubeia gave his last season because, let's be real, hers was pretty one-sided, and I am curious to see how and more on why Aaravos came to be the "great evil" that he is. Because from what I've seen so far, the guy just looks like he enjoys watching the show he creates by doing his manipulations and such.
I honestly kind of want Aaravos to be sort of a Dark Promethean figure, who actually finds humanity more interesting and fascinating and opts to help them. Not necessarily for altruistic reasons, but because maybe he gets a bit of a kick out of watching the uppity elves and the arrogant dragons get brought down by such a 'lowly' race like humans. And I think it would add a bit more fun and nuance to his character if we actually find out that, twisted though it may be, he has a soft spot for humans.
Also, wasn't Aaravos one of the Great Ones, supposedly one of the first beings and even was supposed to have had a hand in the creation of the world or something (or am I misremembering that)? If that's the case... what if the very creation of humanity was... Aaravos? He could view humanity as his children of a sort, and thus seek to aid them in first becoming equals to the elves and dragons... and then, through his manipulations, ultimately dominate and supplant them? Again, it would be a rather interesting twist if the main cast finds this all out about him... it would add a bit of conflict when some of the human characters feel kind of conflicted once they learn that.

During the finale of Aaravos, I want to see Aaravos at his lowest point, to see him break down in rage and madness and slowly accept his defeat. He has always acted superior so It would be very interesting to see him realize he might not escape or he might actually DIE and have his immortality stripped away. Also, I really hope they go the novablade route to kill him. (Idk If this sounds right but you get what I'm saying? I hope we get to see him get some time to shine because its seems like he is getting released next season.
Also, the part where he said that sir sparklepuff or whatever was he and Virens child was kinda weird and I'm actually somewhat surprised that Viren decided not to kill the thing. It also seemed Aaravos was shocked that he didn't do so and was kinda annoyed that he did all that just to die. Aaravos definitely has some sort of connection with Viren (and maybe even felt a little betrayed?).. Viren's visions while he was unconscious was also really interesting to dive into more of his character and morality.
I thought Aaravos would get released by Claudia so that season 6 would be about the quest for the novablade. I just find it really strange that Aaravos didn't talk to Claudia at all. He doesn't seem to care about her, but he clearly wanted Viren alive. Why?
@@everythinggirly916 I was thinking about it as well. But I suspect maybe the reason is that Aaravos has larger scale plans that Claudia doesn't fit into. And what I mean by that is, Aaravos knows Claudia is powerful --- more so than Viren for that matter. But Aaravos targeted Viren because he was "hungry for knowledge and power." Whereas I think he knows that Claudia's main driver is her family. She acts out of love and a fear of being alone/abandoned, not out of ambition or even curiosity. That means he probably views her as less useful for creating the kind of chaos he wants to see.
It seems like he might not have planned on Viren backing out at the last minute. Regardless of whether this is the end of Viren or not, I feel like Callum is where he's going to set his sights next.

Now that I think about it, he didn't urge Viren to free him during seasons 1-3. I think that if Aaravos gets freed, he'll want to start a war between humans and elves again. And he knows that Viren is a better leader than Claudia. As for Callum, he's the bridge between humans and elves, so Aaravos might want to use him to start this conflict. That's just my wild speculation, though.
i feel like they might come at a crossroad in the new season, because rayla wants to free her parents & runaan and she needs quasar diamonds to do that, but because there are only 3 known quasar diamonds in the world and they also need to use it for the novablade…
Aaravos definitely strikes me as a very meticulous villain. He plans everything out carefully and even has contingencies for his contingencies. No matter what the heroes try to do, the pieces will fall into place as needed. He is going to get out, it's just a matter of when. But I want to know. What is his end game here? Mindless chaos throughout the land? World conquest? Maybe even godhood?

When their child was a big worm and viren caught Zym, aaravos casted a spell to help viren. As u may know dark magic spells are reversed and in that moment if you reverse this spell you'll hear something like "ill swallow your heart, ill swallow your mind, ill swallow your power" so in a way he didn't physically swallow anyone, he just took away their life and gave this extra strength to himself.

Octavia…how could you kill your half sibling?! The season 6 teaser pretty much confirms that as she’s covered in blood like a vengeful killer.
A possible backstory: Aaravos may have started life as a dragon 🐉 at the beginning of time. When the dragons were first created, they sharpened their skills and might by competing in battling sports (kind of Pokemon). He also shared a brotherly bond with the dragon of the Sky 🌌 Arcanum Avizandum. Dragon Aaravos was a skillful battler, but lately, all he cared about was winning and power. Therefore, he wanted to be the most powerful dragon in the universe with no one to stop him. When this has gone far enough, his “brother” Avizandum stopped him. Aligned with the elves 🧝♂️, the Archdragons stripped Aaravos of his dragon 🐉 powers and turned him into an elf 🧝♂️ before sending him away to a magical dimension 🪞. But Aaravos swore revenge 😡, claiming Xadia would be his. He also wants to get back at his “brother” Avizandum and the other dragons 🐉 for betraying him.
I thought this was corny until I remember Aaravos said “I swallowed her”

Probably someone sayed this before me, but I say from my perspective 🤔. Aaravos as a person, in his character, names (he has few of them), actions, abilities, methods to achieve his goals, relations to other persons, etc. is so similar to:
* Gabriel Agreste from "Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir"
* Melkor/Morgoth and Sauron from "The Lord of the Rings", "Silmarilion" (generally all of J.R.R Tolkien's universum 😉)
* Lucifer/Satan from the Bible (christianity, some part of judaism)
Conclude, when someone (maybe child 😀) will question me: Who is the Devil?, I'll show him Aaravos.
(I know, maybe my english little sucks, but I hope that this text is understandable 😅)
Also due to its backstory, it could have similarities with the Titan Prometheus from Greek mythology.
@@lyricthecat9407 theoritically you're right, but Prometheus is positive person and his gift (fire) was very helpfull and gave hope to humanity. On other side, Aaravos isn't positive person and his gift which look positive, in fact is clear example of Aaravos sinistery. Shortly, Xadians have connection with one magic element. Humans none, but they have potential to connect more than one element, if they understand element's Arcanum (Callum showed it). Black magic is easier way, but easier don't always mean better. Ok, few times black magic helped humans, but in a broader perspective gave him more problems and worries. Because black magic:
*hides from human's eyes his true power
*is cruel and criminal in his nature (power for life of living beings)
*in far, is destructive for user's body and soul (Viren and Claudia)
*escalated conflict between humans and Xadians (which know true nature of black magic)
*mentioned above finished exile humans from Xadia
This show that Aaravos isn't human's friend (as he present to others), if he is, he probably will help people to understand element's Arcanum. And even if he never lie, as he said (which I doubt) this doesn't mean that he isn't liar.

I think he used to be a dragon possibly.
So The white ghostly spirit version of Aaravos was his consciousness, I figured it was something like that. I also believe that him able to project his consciousness into xadia or the ability to do so must have something to do with the startouched hybrid.
Aavaros is cool as it stands but i do hope there is more to his motivations and there are certainly hints to that. This knowledge of a star elf dying in the past may well be what sent him down this dark route and turned him bitter against dragons and elves.
Hoping for some more depth to the dragon/aavaros history because as it stands he is cool but the characters charisma is doing a lot of heavy lifting currently as we have nothing concrete to counter the current perspective of him being generic evil ancient villain. But i think the breadcrumbs are there fingers crossed. Long wait to find out though

Dark magic in this universe requires draining a magical creature, right? Maybe in order to carry put some dark ritual, he used Aditi. I don't think it ever specified the creature had to be an animal, just magic in nature.
