But it can kill who you were, it can kill your sense of body autonomy, your sense of safety, it can kill personal beliefs, it robs you of joy, relationships both intimate and familial, and it can drive you to insanity for years or lifetimes with no guarantee of survival. It needs to be treated in a more severe way.
You are completely right, I'm not sure that men can even understand everything you have said, they talk about how men who having been wrongly accused of rape as having their lives and reputations destroyed, which is wrong, obviously, but nothing in comparison to a girl or woman who has endured being raped and the lifelong consequences she deals with having been violated in this way.

I was so mad at the older sister at first and then I came back to my senses that the only person to be blame is the one who had commit the crime and the sick mother who lied for her son, what an evil mom.
@sharonbenjamin. Most teenagers DO have that me, me, me attitude. But I think it really got to the elder sister when she saw her younger sister in the hospital bed laying in a coma, hooked up to all those ivs, breathing tubes, heart monitors and other scary medical equipment. And the real possibility that her younger sister might never wake up, be in a vegetative state, be brain damaged for the rest of her life or might even pass away, probably really scared the elder sister. Sometimes, it takes a tragedy like this to happen and that's when most people try to change their behavior. And that includes teenagers.
Why wasn't a background check done on monster man before he was hired as a janitor at the school? How was it no one noticed him looking at young girls with bad intent? I guess no one wants to believe that evil hides in plain sight.
@@sharonjensen3016 The school did the check on frank before hiring him but the thing is his other 2 convictions on child molestations happened in another state so the result didn't show up on the search. That's a bit rubbish work in police data net.
His other crimes may have happened in another state, but my belief is that if in doubt, don't. But then, if it wasn't this school, it would have been another one. And another girl. Two is too many. Even one is too many.
What annoys me is the lack of responsible behavior that should be acknowledged when picking up children late from school. It burns me up. I would not have allowed a child to stay late but would have dropped off the child no matter what she said to her house. I would feel better she was safe instead of hurt of raped.
It was a very good movie and a very sad movies because her daughter thought the janitor was your friend. She trust him around her and he betrayed her at the end.
That is strange, maybe back then rules were different because here they are not happy if you are late because they are obligated to stay at school with them until someone arrives for safety reasons.

How is it that a paedophile got off scotch free, but a grieving mother who's child was violated ended up in prison for doing what the 'justice' system failed to do. Then the child has a double sentence by losing her mother to jail. It's sad but with such a 'justice' system I'm sure this happens in real life.
Justice system has always been favorable towards pedophiles. Many in power are pedophiles. Also, men, don't like the thought of violated women or their female relatives defending themselves or attacking violent or predatory men. It's why they can never seem to take a woman's complaints serious but they are quick to charge a battered woman with murder. If more women fear jail if they defend themselves, that's more men who can abuse & violate us.
Look up the Bachmeier case. Old but still. The mother wasn't perfect, but she grieved for her daughter and shot the killer in court. She went to prison, was released yeas later and died from cancer shortly after that.
Yes, it’s pure Evil. Evil “seems “ to have the upper hand in the courts, government and police unfortunately. It’s so disheartening and disgusting. Hopefully one day decency honesty respect and love will prevail. The way our defenseless innocent children are treated is horrific and there is no excuse for this despicable depravity. It is so shameful and downright cruel and so soulless and disgusting. Words cannot express this horrible cruelty.
The people would forgive her and let her go seeing it all as regretful. And the man's mother lied and then wouldn't forgive the mother for killing her son. What a bad woman. But the justice system has stepped in and often takes justice away from the victims and their families. Old West justice would have been different. We have a crazy system.
Tears falling down 😭 when I heard the msg of the killers mother .this is the feeling of a mother no matter what their kids are the mother will always be a mother .😭😭

I know right she was so selfish from the beginning, she clearly only thinks of herself. The mom never blamed Jill, yet Jill was intent on having a pity party because deep down she felt guilty
She’s a kid… she doesn’t have the emotional maturity or life experience to fully understand. That’s why she feels like it’s her fault and she wants her mother’s love for that guilt. It’s a tough situation for the mom… she needs to be there for them both, for different reasons.
Jill was consumed with guilt but she felt ignored by her mother. Yes the mother blamed her for what happened to her sister but it was not her fault and the mother should of talked with Jill to maintain the peace because she didn't have much time for Jill until they had a fight but look they got their in the end and made peace and became proper mother daughter and Jill became the proper big sister.
A girl who I went to school with was raped when we were both 14, on her was home from girl guides it was the end of November. Her mum took her to the hospital and the police attended, she was made to feel it was her fault. 10 days later she killed herself by jumping off the bridge she didn't have a chance, that was over 50 years ago. We lived in a village and never felt afraid until that day. Nothing happened after that to catch the raypist. I am glad more can be done today to catch them, put them in prison
Sadly that's what usually happens. The girl (victim) in the movie is incredibly lucky and privileged. Most of us victims don't get help from anyone, we're treated like criminals and are punished and shunned Most victims don't have any support from anyone , often are abused at home by their own family or partner Most R*ists don't get punished 77% of women in prison are there for self defense
How can the teacher leave her alone? She should have waited until someone shows up. As for the judgement system, it's so unfair. Any parent can do whatever to protect their kids.
That is definitely falls. Parents cannot do whatever to protect their children. That mentality most likely created that criminal and so many others like him!
Especially since the teacher was wary of Frank for looking in on them as he did. She should have insisted on waiting with the child based on school policy or something.
The teacher was the one who should be blamed. Even if the mother was coming herself or the sister did not forget, who knows maybe there are unforeseen delays like they suddenly fall ill or there is traffic accident? To let a child wait alone when it is becoming dark is not responsible.
The teacher NEVER leave a child alone because they are predators hurt innocent children you watch them at all times. No one should never go through that
This is such a tragic movie all around. I don't understand why Wendy was left alone at school. I feel if she hadn't been, the whole tragedy could have been avoided. TY for sharing this. God Bless You & stay safe.
This IS a must-see! I remember the first time I watched Lesley Ann Warren was in "Cinderella" back many years ago with my little sister. She was outstanding then, and even more so now. I saw Shirley Knight on "The Fugitive" and I liked her very much. This movie covers a very touchy subject matter. It demonstrates how much we need to watch over our little ones because evil is always present. Most important - it shows a mother's love and how comprehensive it is. We watched two mothers protecting their kids. One knowing very-well that her son did the dastardly deed. The other mom, devastated, lost in grief, literally half-crazed over how her daughter was sexually abused and almost beaten to death. She took matters into her own hands. So who is right and who is wrong? This is a very tough question only Father God can answer...
I'm not a mother, but I do have four nephews and one niece. If I had to put myself between danger and one of them, I'd do it. And if anyone ever hurt them, I'd want to tear the perpetrator apart.
This movie is so true to my heart, so very true! I was molested and Raped and forced to do all kinds of sexual things for over an hour, in the school yard, I was going to. It quite disturbing and disgusting, I recently watched a documentary on Alfred Kinsey and his view of sexual activities when it comes to children and I was utterly shocked and disgusted by what I heard as well as saw. I know that child sexual abuse has been going on for many many years and I don't know if Kinsey's reports have caused it to surge even more. Dr Judith Reisman throughout all of these years has been trying to explain and expose Kinsey's false claims. I remember watching this with my mother back in 1993 and I remember back in the mid 2000's watching it with my oldest daughter who was a few years younger than Wendy in this movie and explaining to her what had happened.

From the beginning of trials I wanted to say to the defense of Mr. Warden have you seen the child unconscious in the hospital and bruised beyond belief with broken arm and all!? Although perhaps inappropriate, pics of her injuries could have helped in the first place.
Nice movie! Lesson learmed: Also it's the teacher's responsibility to be with her student until the parent arrives to pick her up in school. Or the parent should call up the principal to inform that it would take a little bit time to pick up the child in school.
As a citizen, and follower of Christ, I find the sentencing, an outrage. It is impossible to think that the courts would have let this perp go by accident. How many mistakes have been made that cost children their lives or mental and physical health simply because the system can't get their information together?
This happens all the time. You're more likely to serve a decade in prison for having a few ounces of weed on you than for moslesting or raping a child.
Unfortunately, I don't feel much sympathy for her character in this movie. She knew something was wrong with her son (the fact that he was fidgety at the table gave it away) and yet chose to lie on the witness stand to cover for him.

She was not full of herself. Her own mother admitted she was to blame because she put her event in the home above her own daughter's safety. The 2 things the mother could had done was to ask one of her close friends to look after the people at her house and pick her daughter up herself before 5 PM. The other option is to call the school and speak to the principal than her daughter who would have accepted the ride.

And the real possibility that her younger sister might never wake up, be in a vegetative state, be brain damaged for the rest of her life or might even pass away, probably really scared the elder sister. The school did the check on frank before hiring him but the thing is his other 2 convictions on child molestations happened in another state so the result didn't show up on the search.
@luckyj693 Exactly!

The teacher asked her if she would like her to stay. She insists her mom would be there any sec. So I wouldn't say the teacher is irresponsible.

Most of us victims don't get help from anyone, we're treated like criminals and are punished and shunned
Most victims don't have any support from anyone ,
often are abused at home by their own family or partner
Most R*ists don't get punished
77% of women in prison are there for self defense

How can the teacher leave her alone? She should have waited until someone shows up. As for the judgement system, it's so unfair. Any parent can do whatever to protect their kids.
That is definitely falls. Parents cannot do whatever to protect their children. That mentality most likely created that criminal and so many others like him!
I agree, I would have still waited with her or tried calling the parents or something...just left her alone...smdh
Thank you for the great movie.

Can't keep falling my tears , me being a mother too.
I'm not a mother, but I do have four nephews and one niece. If I had to put myself between danger and one of them, I'd do it. And if anyone ever hurt them, I'd want to tear the perpetrator apart.

How can a grown man prey on children for comfort or sexual gratification??? And these sickies always hang around or work around children.
Here in Australia they're allowed to live wherever they want anonymously. Which is wrong.

Smh a child can’t even say genuine and say hello without being harmed or killed and it’s beyond sad & heartbreaking. Robbed of so much so damn young it’s sickening!! If the justice system did its damn job most of these monsters wouldn’t be walking around carefree!
Lesley Warren is a fine actress and I enjoy her movies very much
41 minutes...there's no better "psychiactric treatment available" than a Mother's and Father's love, care, time and attention. Period!
47 minutes...obviously she was justified in her motherly Anger and lm glad that Pedo Died but how is she still walking around free? Why havent the cops come and arrested her for murder? It's just weird...
Bonnie Yuse under these circumstances I totally agree, however, often times love isn't enough. There are so many happy people committing suicide and have been completely loved. Patients of mental illness need constant vigilance with self and from doctors and their loved ones.
That is so true!!!
If only that were an option for me after having been raped and sodomized at 5 yrs old for a year by my mom's 40 yr old friend. She addressed nothing. I was left to flap aimlessly terrified through my entire childhood. It wasn't til I was an adult that I got quality medical care by incredible doctors that were committed to getting me proper help. Suicide hotline was kind and helpful. I found a wonderful therapist to help me. Some of us are not the cleavers where you can depend on your parents for anything. When I married my abusive husband my mom cried yet she would help him control me. She's sick and I often wonder why she's still in my life after having been grown mens fucking doll throughout my childhood. And she just kept going as if nothing needed addressing. I may as well have been raised by a 12 yr old. Probly would have done a better job
I would never protected my son for a henus crime.
Poor little girl that had to go through such horrific thing the teacher should of took the child home or stayed with her till the sister come and picked her up
Same thing i said remember she is underage she should have stay with her until a adult comes
So sad . Children are so fragile and they need protection from this kind of people .
When Mandy came in the Court room Rolling her wheel chair I started hollering...this is a SAD SAD story
From the beginning of trials I wanted to say to the defense of Mr. Warden have you seen the child unconscious in the hospital and bruised beyond belief with broken arm and all!? Although perhaps inappropriate, pics of her injuries could have helped in the first place.
Oh my God😢😢 why u would u do that to such a young innocent girl 😢😢😢 great movie though it made me so emotional
Really dumb that the teacher left that child alone after school. The school should've had a huge law suit
Nice movie!
Lesson learmed:
Also it's the teacher's responsibility to be with her student until the parent arrives to pick her up in school. Or the parent should call up the principal to inform that it would take a little bit time to pick up the child in school.
@Nelson Douglas quiet depress
@Nelson Douglas I'm from the Philippines but I'm here in Switzerland
@Nelson Douglas we have nice weather as of now
As a citizen, and follower of Christ, I find the sentencing, an outrage. It is impossible to think that the courts would have let this perp go by accident. How many mistakes have been made that cost children their lives or mental and physical health simply because the system can't get their information together?
how many kids get rape under the guise of religion ?
Absolutely correct
This happens all the time. You're more likely to serve a decade in prison for having a few ounces of weed on you than for moslesting or raping a child.
Brilliant movie supper acting very emotional but not overdone I have watched it three times over the years
R.I.P., Shirley Knight. 🙏🏻
Unfortunately, I don't feel much sympathy for her character in this movie. She knew something was wrong with her son (the fact that he was fidgety at the table gave it away) and yet chose to lie on the witness stand to cover for him.
