The media frenzy following the tragedy will make "Con Gusto" the best selling album of the decade, despite a consensus among reviewers that it was "sort of samey." Sales would eventually collapse with the release of crime scene photos of ACB's volatile frontman, the self-styled Princeps Novo Magnus (actually Santangelo Conigliari of Brindisi), who died in his sleep clutching his rosary like any good Catholic boy. Still, the band will always be remembered fondly for properly dying before they got stale and made the rest of us sort of embarrassed for ever liking them in the first place. I was at Sydney Opera House in 2017 when Ashkenazy conducted the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. The program was Beethoven 2, 8 and 7. Absolutely wonderful.

Absolutely! In fact there is no comparison. From Mozart and Brahms to Schubert and Mahler none brought to the symphonic canvas the sheer exhuberance and breath-taking originality and innovation that Beethoven did!

@@unknown4143 Indeed ! Mahler and Bruckner did ! And I would like to add at least Brahms, Dvorak , Tschaikovsky, Shostakovish to that list as well, who all composed marvellous symphonies, that reached the quality of the Beethoven ones . Of course Beethoven delivered the "blueprint" for the later masters for their symphonic works with his nine symphonies (especially the Ninth) and for all the romantic symphonies that were composed thru the 19th.century . The later composers like Mahler, Bruckner and Shostakovich extended the form of the symphony and especially the orchestration to sometimes gigantic proportions ( since they had access to many instruments that Beethoven didn't have because they were even not invented then ) and by that alone they had many more creative possibilities ! But in terms of perfect form and balance of all the used means none of the later composers was ever able to surpass Beethovens symphonies, and all of them would be the first one to admit to that . They surely would reach Beethovens level ( and how thankful should we be for that ), but nobody ever surpassed it.
Bird NOchance since Beethoven passed there has been in that 200years thousands of millions of people born yet there has never been anyone with even a few minutes to compare with his diversity ,his beautiful and powerful music AND his astonishing creativity. He truly was a one off that no composer will ever get close.
Beethoven's 7th Symphony is one of his most joyful and energetic works. It was composed between 1811 and 1812, at the same time as his 8th Symphony, and was dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries. The symphony was premiered on December 8, 1813, at a charity concert for wounded soldiers in Vienna, conducted by Beethoven himself. The concert also included his Wellington's Victory and parts of his Mass in C major. The symphony consists of four movements: a Poco sostenuto - Vivace, an Allegretto, a Presto - Assai meno presto, and an Allegro con brio. The symphony is also known by the nickname "The Apotheosis of the Dance", because of its rhythmic and dance-like character. The first movement is a fast and lively Vivace, preceded by a slow introduction that sets the mood. The movement follows the sonata form, with two contrasting themes: a cheerful and syncopated theme played by the woodwinds, and a lyrical and flowing theme played by the strings. The development section explores various keys and variations of the themes, before the recapitulation returns to the main themes. The movement ends with a spirited coda that repeats the opening theme. The second movement is a slow and graceful Allegretto, which follows a variation form. It begins with a simple melody played by the violas and cellos, over a pulsating accompaniment by the second violins. The melody is then varied by different instruments and sections of the orchestra, creating contrast and interest. The movement has a serene and elegant mood. The third movement is a fast and playful Presto, which follows a ternary form. It begins with a lively theme played by the strings in unison, followed by a contrasting trio section that features a dialogue between the woodwinds and the strings. The presto section returns and leads to a surprising transition to the final movement. The fourth movement is a fast and triumphant Allegro con brio, which follows a sonata form. It begins with a fanfare-like theme played by the brass and timpani, followed by a joyful melody played by the strings. The development section builds up tension and excitement, before the recapitulation returns to the main themes. The movement ends with a brilliant coda that combines elements from all four movements and concludes with a series of fortissimo chords. Beethoven's 7th Symphony is a masterpiece of musical innovation and expression. It shows his mastery of orchestration and his ability to create powerful emotions with music. The symphony has inspired many composers and musicians, and has become a symbol of joy and vitality.
Thank you so much for this brillant description of each movement of Beethoven’s 7th symphony! Thank you for putting words of what I feel each time I listen to this extraordinary symphony.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your information and analysis. It enhances the immense joy this music provides, especially when provided by a mixed orchestra of young Palestinians and Israelis. Probably my favourite Beethoven, and probably my favourite reading of it. And yes, the sense of fun. They're all so great - the Maestro and the players.
Honestly, (and I'm absolutely blessed!) the most time I cried in my life was with the many times, I listened to the 9th Symphony, but if it comes to musical perfection and beauty as a one piece of work - this, the 7th Symphony of Beethoven, is the true Masterpiece!
Without a doubt, the best symphonies and concerts are from Beethoven. My favorite!! And Beethoven's best exponent as a pianist and conductor is maestro Barenboim

One of my favourite symphonies by Beethoven, i have been binge-listening to it ever since i was like 6
I first listened to this symphony when I was only twelve, and to this day, along with Mozart’s Symphony no. 41 (Jupiter), remains one of my favorites. Listening to this interpretation, brings tears to my eyes, for it is absolutely brilliant, with a magnificent orchestra, led by a masterful conductor. Beethoven would be proud of having had his majestic music brought to life by such great musicians.
I know all such statements are really just subjective, but I still say this is the greatest of all symphonies, every note follows so inevitably from the one before and all of it is genius.
Grande grande sinfonia, magistralmente diretta ed eseguita, conquista alte sfere sentimentali e trascina nell’infinito l’animo intimo. Grandissimo Beethoven.
What an inspiration Barenboim is to those young people. His leadership is simply brilliant. He has such an understanding of Beethoven, and a love for the members of this orchestra. And the orchestra, responding to him, give there all. Barenboim is, not only a great conductor, but a wonderful human being. Sheila-Muir
+Sheila Muir Box Yeah. If I want to listen to any Beethoven symphony all I have to do is go to the Proms on here to hear these absolutely masterful modern performances.

What a triumph! This is without a doubt one of the greatest, most awe inspiring pieces of music to ever send chills up and down my spine. I put in earbuds at work, turn this on, and when I move, I glide... when I walk, it's as if I'm a foot above the ground. What a gift.
Paulwood Beethoven without a doubt the most creative person in the history of mankind.Even 10minutes of this wonderful composition is beyond comprehension but there is over half an hour of sublime creative brilliance.
@johndean4765 Can you imagine composing something like this? A piece a music that almost 200 years later, is inspiring and moving people? What an amazing person Beethoven was! Thank God these people had the knowledge and discipline to chart this music. Two centuries later, it can be recited just as it was at the time it was conceived. It really is a miracle. And I'm grateful for it
I so agree. I put this symphony on whenever I’m working- cooking, washing dishes, mopping the floors, dusting, and it’s like I’m in heaven. The work gets done in no time. What an amazing gift we have in Beethoven, Barenboim, all those amazing musicians. And then there’s my adorable little iPhone bringing it all to me whenever I want it or need it. Bravo all!!

This will guide you to awaken & transform your health on every level. The first 3 minutes of Beethoven's Symphony #7 - 2nd movement are precisely what will tap into the idea of healing." I only just learned that this orchestra performed all 9 symphonies in one season. So far I've listened to #3 and this one. If the others are performed as well as these then it was an astounding feat for such a young orchestra to perform all 9 so well. I look forward to listening to the rest of the symphonies.

This is generally overlooked by the more popular 5th and 9th symphony but this is still an amazing piece
Love the 4th movement.
It's wonderful to see the concentration of these young musicians.
By *_far_* my favorite recording of the *7th... Barenboim* just has the timing of *Beethoven* down perfectly !!
Carlos Cleiber!
So wonderful to see the young musicians.
É uma ótima sinfonia, o HOMEM ERA UM ÓTIMO COMPOSITOR!!!!
Grande Pianista e Direttore d'Orchestra

What a fantastic symphony. Beethoven takes the listener on a wonderful journey, which I love to listen and be lead by a brilliant composer 👍👍❤️
The Magic Director for
The Immortale 🎶 Beethoven 😊💪
I was at Sydney Opera House in 2017 when Ashkenazy conducted the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. The program was Beethoven 2, 8 and 7. Absolutely wonderful.
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!!
My husband and I was in Europe for eight months, travelling. I got to hear so many Symphony orchestras in Europe, thank you my darling husband. Yes, this is one of my favorites.
Movement 2 at 12:15 still one of the most stunningly moving melodies ever

Extraordinariamente conmovedora !
I don't think anyone would be able to come up with a symphony better than Beethoven's symphonies before the end of all life on planet earth.
Bruckner and Malher did
Absolutely! In fact there is no comparison. From Mozart and Brahms to Schubert and Mahler none brought to the symphonic canvas the sheer exhuberance and breath-taking originality and innovation that Beethoven did!

Indeed !
Mahler and Bruckner did !
And I would like to add at least Brahms, Dvorak , Tschaikovsky, Shostakovish to that list as well,
who all composed marvellous symphonies, that reached the quality of the Beethoven ones .
Of course Beethoven delivered the "blueprint" for the later masters for their symphonic works with his nine symphonies (especially the Ninth) and for all the romantic symphonies that were composed thru the 19th.century .
The later composers like Mahler, Bruckner and Shostakovich extended the form of the symphony and especially the orchestration to sometimes gigantic proportions
( since they had access to many instruments that Beethoven didn't have because they were even not invented then )
and by that alone they had many more creative possibilities !
But in terms of perfect form and balance of all the used means
none of the later composers was ever able to surpass Beethovens symphonies,
and all of them would be the first one to admit to that .
They surely would reach
Beethovens level
( and how thankful should we be for that ), but nobody ever surpassed it.
Bird NOchance since Beethoven passed there has been in that 200years thousands of millions of people born yet there has never been anyone with even a few minutes to compare with his diversity ,his beautiful and powerful music AND his astonishing creativity. He truly was a one off that no composer will ever get close.
La Apoteosis de la danza. Qué maravilla de sinfonía. Dirección impecable de Daniel Batemboin!
7 is phenomenal. I never become tired of hearing it. Every time is like the first time!
I could listen 5 through to 7 all day and today I am😁
Such a journey..i have chills
So regal and yet fierce
Thank you so much for this informative description and analysis. It illuminates the work of art and deepens our understanding of it.

Daniel Barenbaum, a man of enormous vision, ability and compassion and a compelling example to all of us, Jews and Muslims alike.
Quite new to Beethoven. But I will grow old with him and all the wonderful conductors and orchestras that bring him to life. Brilliant..

Barenboim is fun to watch as he guides the orchestra through one of the masterpieces of Beethoven!
Probably my favourite Beethoven, and probably my favourite reading of it. And yes, the sense of fun. They're all so great - the Maestro and the players.
Barenboin is Beethoven's secret agent here on Earth...magnifico Coño!
Honestly, (and I'm absolutely blessed!) the most time I cried in my life was with the many times, I listened to the 9th Symphony, but if it comes to musical perfection and beauty as a one piece of work - this, the 7th Symphony of Beethoven, is the true Masterpiece!
The Ninth Symphony is the best for making love.
The timpani part in this symphony is bloody amazing.
beethoven timpani parts are always amazing
I don't even know what a timpani is and I think Beethoven timpani parts are amazing
Bucketheadhead It's the big drum in the back.

Bravo, Maestro Barenboim. Me proporciona mucho bienestar escucharle y verle dirigir.
Amazing inspirational music by Beethoven
Without a doubt, the best symphonies and concerts are from Beethoven. My favorite!!
And Beethoven's best exponent as a pianist and conductor is maestro Barenboim
One of my favourite symphonies by Beethoven, i have been binge-listening to it ever since i was like 6
Pesce be with you, peaceful heart, and with all of us! May peace shine instead of bombs and hate!
Damn I just love the 7th - never fails to lift me up.
In his 7nth, he goes from the depths of despair, to the heights of ecstasy; amazing genius !!!!
Maestro Barenboim's interpretation of the 7nth is one of the best there is .

Awesome! And thank you for the incredible camera work. You made my day. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
Truly!!
I know all such statements are really just subjective, but I still say this is the greatest of all symphonies, every note follows so inevitably from the one before and all of it is genius.
I agre
All the oboe solos in the first movement are just heavenly. And executed exquisitely by the oboist!
Sheila-Muir
Sheila Muir Box בטח
+Sheila Muir Box I think he was born to perform and conduct Beethoven. His piano concerto performance is amazing also.
+Sheila Muir Box Yeah. If I want to listen to any Beethoven symphony all I have to do is go to the Proms on here to hear these absolutely masterful modern performances.
Recognized as being the World's foremost expert on Beethoven' music. Daniel Barenboim, that is.
I love Barenboim, but this is a bit exaggerated... Recognized by whom?
loved the last movement....the music is so playfully not so typical of Beethoven!....GREAT MUSIC!...can't help to repeat it so many times!
same here
that finale OMFG

Bravo all!!
The 1st movement of No.7 is just amazing. Tide after tide, driving people crazy.
I agree whilst all the movements of the North are great ,in my opinion the first movement is the best.

Uh-oh. You left a hanging partisan.
one of my favorite symphonies. the first two movements are fantastic
That's beautiful 😂❤
I only just learned that this orchestra performed all 9 symphonies in one season. So far I've listened to #3 and this one. If the others are performed as well as these then it was an astounding feat for such a young orchestra to perform all 9 so well. I look forward to listening to the rest of the symphonies.
I highly recommend the 6th. (If you haven't)
The 2012 Proms performances are easily one of the best Beethoven symphony cycles you'll ever hear.
It's a shame my goal is listen to all 9, and he created so many great music.
