    I just had this treatment done on my home in Central Florida on a 21 year old roof and all I can say is that it works as advertised. The shingles are flexible again and are laying back down like they should and the granules are adhering to the shingles. Great product. I highly recommend it.

    • @RikuSpirit

      I'm glad other people caught that. The first corner he folds it completely flat on itself and presses down on it with his thumb to further define a crease. Even a brand new shingle will crease in the same manner. The second shingle he only lifts the corner not even at 90 degrees. The fact of the matter is those shingles still had flexibility left in them before the maxx stuff was even applied.

    • @awfab3517
      @awfab3517 Год назад +2

      They failed on the folding test, but even brand new shingles will crease like that when folded back. Keeping the sand on the roof where it belongs is what will make the roof last longer. I bet linseed oil will give you a few more years too.
      It stays like a rubberized plastic for many years and would keep that sand in place.

      @RoofMaxx  Год назад +1

      Roof Maxx is a formulation derived from soybean oil. The main component is called Soy Methel Ester. The changes we made to the oil are important to make sure it is effective in making your roof flexible again, retain the granules and help to reseal the glue tabs. It's also formulated in such a way that it doesn't attract animal life. It's really a great product!

      Hi there! Before all Roof Maxx treatments, our dealers usually spray down the area around the home so that the treatment easily rolls off everything around it (and then they usually spray down the area afterward, as well). Many times they will also go around to the neighbors and let them know what they're doing and can offer to do this with the neighbors, as well. I would just express your concern to the dealer at the time of service so they can address it when your home is treated.

    Great video, I think I will try roof maxx.
    It's better than not doing anything about it. Who has $40,000 lying around to replace a roof. I seen people hosing their roof with motor oil to revitalize the shingle.
    I figure they've bought roofers a couple of Lamborghinis before.
    Waiting on single roll shingles to come with patterned shingled design to make it easier on the homeowner to replace.
    Essentially the staggering and measuring of regular shingles is the only science your paying for.
    Other than that any money with a compressor and an air gun can do it.
    Look at PEX, sharkbite, propress for plumbing and Romex for electrical.
    It's time for roofing materials to evolve for the DIYer.
    Sorry. I bought enough yachts for roofers.

    I tried bending the corner on my concrete tile roof and the corner broke off. Will this make my concrete tile roof pliable again?

    • @RoofMaxx
      @RoofMaxx  Год назад +1

      No because concrete isn't made with oil nor does it absorb oil. Asphalt does though. Just ask your asphalt roads and parking lots that get treated before being torn out and replaced! This isn't a magic spray that will fix your broken vase or dirty carpet. This is specially designed to penetrate into asphalt and basically return it to it's newly manufactured flexibility. It's simple. a flexible roof is a roof that can expand, contract, won't break off and will properly repeal the elements.

  • @brian_m.
    @brian_m. Год назад

    Id like to see you fold over a brand new shingle just like you did the old shingle. I bet you breaks! Now if this works as you say it does, you would have bent the old shingle before and after to prove it's more flexible.

    • @RoofMaxx
      @RoofMaxx  Год назад

      The brittleness test Mike is demonstrating here is the standard used by inspectors and insurance companies to know if a roof still has life left in it. New shingles will bend just like these old shingles after being treated with Roof Maxx. In other words, a brand new roof that does not pass that brittleness test would also not pass a proper roof inspection.

Technology has definitely changed over the years -- Roof Maxx is a plant based bio-oil treatment that absorbs into the asphalt shingle (it doesn't sit on top of the shingle like a sealant or a coating would).

      Couple things, first off, its a seal tab that's broken loose because the roof is too dry. Not always but often, dried seal tabs are rehydrated and can stick again. If not, our dealers are trained to address this. Regardless of of the seal tab sticks or not, Roof Maxx is the difference between a brittle shingle blowing up a little in wind and a flexible, heavier shingle blowing up a bit. You aren't going to have that breaking. It's all very scientific, thoroughly tested and our customers love it 5 and 10 years into their treatments! You should try it!
