Looks like the image is either out of focus or the teleconverter makes the image soft. Thanks for this example btw!

Yes, that is terrible, out of focus. I did a better shot with my 300mm.

Great Images. This is exactly what I want to do. I'm looking at getting the Sony 200-600mm or the Sigma 100-400mm. Which would you recommend and why?

      200-600 is fantastic.

I only own the Sony 200-600mm and, therefore, cannot compare. I assume the Sigma is good too since Sigma makes excellent lenses.

Did you try without the teleconverter? At 60MP of resolution you should be close to diffraction at f/6.3 so no real need for a teleconverter. You could then drop ISO to 50, or even try faster shutter speeds (because, who knows!).

Did you tried to shooting Saturn or Jupiter with the same gear? I will...

Hi - thanks for sharing your content, I really enjoy the detailed analysis you perform on the topics of your videos. Do you share your photos on any web-based image sharing platform? Would like to see your other work as well.

No I don't, sorry Ali. I sell large prints of my photos in my network and make really good money with it so I do not upload higher resolution photos somewhere. Thanks for your positive comments on my channel, highly appreciated.

@@mathphotographer Completely understandable. I still get to enjoy the great content you put out on your channel and that is also sufficient! Look forward to future content from you as always.

Great video as always. Awaiting arrival of my extenders. What about using X1. 4 with clear zoom, instead of X2. Thanks

Thx for your positive comment. I have not tried to 1.4x but expect it to work fine, just less long focal length at the end. Clear zoom can enhance the tele effect without too much loss of quality.

Why did not use crop which would have give you 1800mm.

Or, use an APS-C camera: with the A6400, A6500, A6600 you can get a similar or better resolution than the A7RIV.

      And how do youndo that?

@@biogons14 a7riv still has more pixels in crop mode than all the crop sensor cameras you’ve listed

Any solar filters used? Thanks and regards.

Y have used the same SONY 200-600 zoom lens in my A6500 APSc camera with the moon. Cropping the A7RIV you have the same resolution as my A6500. A full moon It´s not the best resolution test image , It is better to do it in another moon phase so that the craters can be seen well. Attached some 4K video image captures with 600x1,5*2, not using frontal UV filter!

Believe that immediately, the RX10 IV is a great camera for moon shots, lots of good samples around.
