    If I should buy a handheld console now, I'd take the Legion Go. I'll wait a little bit.

      It's clsoe between the ALLY and the Go... personally I like the native scaling options the Ally's screen res provides over the more awkward ones on the Go, far more appropriate for the power on offer.

      @@BluntyTV What I like about the Go is its big screen and detachable controllers. Rog Ally has smaller screen but suuport VRR, which is cool. It's hard to make a choice between these two, but Legion Go appeals more to me.

      @@PC-ONEthe smaller screen helps a bit, games especially using fsr will look a bit better(sharper) on a smaller screen.

    intel Arc drivers have me worried since not only they have issues with day 1 game releases, they also have problems playing older titles.

      ONE example is Razer who showed a handheld gaming pc, with detachable controls, over a DECADE ago, many years before anyone heard the words "nintendo switch" , it too could be handheld, or docked to larger screens. ruclips.net/video/PyTiI-1-KoY/видео.html

    We'll have to see how it goes after updates and etc... bc like u said the rog ally was bad at first but after bios updates etc... the rog ally became a beast had a rog ally like a month after it came out and I love it but I honesty would love for the claw to be better in everyway to push the handheld market and to make amd really step up and do more and to have competition between intel and amd way more bc the handheld market is just going to grow and and more competition means more improvements and performance for us gamers

    • @BluntyTV

      I did not say the "ROG ALLY was bad at first".... I said it got BETTER with updates. That is NOT the same thing. It was GOOD on day 1, and got BETTER STILL over time.

    Still an LCD SteamDeck owner here. MSI's option will have to be really seen. So far, does not look good at all, those numbers are not even close to AMD. Not sure drivers and bios updates are magically get them up 40-50fps on every game (to make it better than AMD options). Time will tell for sure but, not a lot of hope here.

    as far as handheld and console it is AMD, but desktop still is Intel. Graphics NVIDIA RTX now, AMD Vega 56 and RX580s before. AMD software still is bad, issues for multi monitor configs or ultrawide 1080/1440 was not a good thing.

    As a HW nerd and a low-level programmer, I just wanted to chime in and explain that Intel Arc has been making stunning progress since their initial launch. Discrete graphics is a whole different can of worms to integrated. Their competitors have been fine-tuning drivers and implementing application-specific fixes for *decades*, especially as they pertain to older, more high-level APIs (pre-DX12 and Vulkan). I wouldn't expect Arc to be in a state for average consumer for at least a few generations. Their progress is very promising; I just hope the higher-ups don't throw out the cake it before it's done cooking. Investors can be very short-sighted...

    This is not meant to contradict you, as I actually have no idea...just a question. Do you know how the Steam Deck OLED stacks up against these? I've been considering a device like that, not just for playing my standard library but also for hand held emulation purposes.

    • @lugaidster
      @lugaidster 7 месяцев назад +1

      These can boost past the steam deck OLED and get considerably more performance when doing that. The issue is that to get those speeds you're looking at very bad battery life.
      When comparing at sub 15W tdp, the steam deck is unbeatable performance-wise in pretty much everything except, perhaps, switch emulation.
      Then there's the OS thing. But that's a different topic and much more nuanced. 😊

    • @alexatkin
      @alexatkin 7 месяцев назад +2

      @@BluntyTV The problem is "overall" is still subjective, as how do you weigh the different features? I personally weigh the OLED HDR screen and better UI of the Steam Deck OLED very highly. Also after the SD reader debacle, that puts me off the Ally. There's also the ergonomics of the Steam Deck which I find the most comfortable handheld I've ever experienced, not to mention the repair-ability. If only it had VRR it would be perfect.
      If the Steam Deck OLED had not come out then I would have said Ally is the best overall, but I don't think it is now.
