Love it when uncles are honest. I ordered one w/o the manual safety and will be carrying in the pocket with a kydex holster. Very excited! I agree best carry everywhere and never be outgunned kinda carry gun.

I commend you for pulling off a fantastic review on a mattress with a DeWalt light. Now I’m totally convinced that I need one of these damn things. 💸
Spot on. New king of concealed carry!
I, too, have had a heat stroke. I’m right there with you on staying inside on these hot Texas days! I like your videos. You earned a subscriber!
@@user-xy6zz7mx8o thank you bud. Sorry to hear you go through the same crap. But Atleast we have 3 days of fall and all winter.
Thank you for the follow-up. I wish .380 wasn't so expensive, at least compared to 9mm.
@@chrisw3776 same here. I’ve been picking it up at guncity in barling for $19.99. Fiocci and magtec. Still higher than 9mm but better than most places around here.
Check out ammoseek. Several options in the .22-.25cpr range
Just my take on the ammo cost: for me, since I hope and expect to likely never have to shoot anybody ever, the cost of my self defense rounds is just not an issue; a 50 round box will likely cover me for life. As far as the practice ammo, if I shop online for 1000 round cartons, it’s manageable. But then again, I’m in that category of shooter that will likely only go through 1k to 2k rounds per year. This is just me personally. I realize there are many more avid shooters out there. But I certainly am enjoying this new little BG 2.0. Fun to shoot.
@@bldrtom very well said. It’s not really a pistol meant to be shot a lot but it will definitely do that if need be. I absolutely love the little thing.
Refreshing take on the Bodyguard 2. Loved it. Always enjoy your stuff sir!
@@joegilbert7661 thank you bud
1st video I’ve seen when shooting in the dark. Kudos

New subscriber here, RUclips recommended this video to me.👍
I picked up one of these little Bodyguard's about a month ago. I had been fondling the Ruger LCP Max for a couple of years now, never took a liking to the way it felt.🤷♂ The Bodyguard 2.0 only took once and it left the store with me.😁 I have only went to the range 3 times with it, but it is a shooter.👍 And like you, I have found myself carrying it everywhere, in addition to my EDC.🤷♂
I am in the market for a Glock 29 myself right now, long story...🤦♂ Good review.👍
@@Disastrous.Affect that’s awesome. I’m glad you like it too. With the capacity and shoot ability I’m not at all afraid to carry it as a primary sometimes. Depending where I’m going. The glock 29 is a beast but a blast and very versatile. Can be loaded with rounds that are about like 40s&w or rounds that surpass 357 magnum ballistics. I love the 10mm. Thanks for watching and subscribing bud 🤙🏼
@@livennick9 Oh I am very familiar with 10mm😁 I have a few... I am looking for the G29 because I bought a MK10 CMMG Banshee in 10mm and it takes Glock mags. This will be my first Glock as I shot a 1911 almost exclusively for 18 years, Glock's just feel foreign to me. The G29 will be me finally learning to overcome the grip angle and learning to shoot a Glock.🤷♂
I love mine. I can't shoot like you, so I put the old Bodyguard REAR sight to get a more narrow notch--it's a little too narrow, but I shot a 3" group of 5 shots at 25Y, so I'll take it. I'm also moving to shooting by looking at the target and only seeing the front and rear sights as "blurry"--so far it's been working great (I saw Ben Stoeger recommend it--and it was how I shot red dots, but never irons).
I can't afford another round, but the G40 with a bright light is probably the best HD pistol there is. :) I use a sub-gun as my HD, but I've been carrying the Bodyguard 2.0 with a 10rd mag as my MAIN ccw gun lately (I probably should get a backup mag carrier for the 12rd mag).
Great video. Love your reviews
Great Review love your videos man keep up the amazing work
@@markmorgan210 thanks bud
Glad to see it feeds the Underwood XD's. I've seen a video or two where the two part feed ramp seems to give some ammo feed issues. I'm a big fan of Underwood. Like you, I carry 155 gr in my XDM Elite 10mm when in urban settings, and 200 gr hardcast when in the hills. 147 gr and 124 gr HST in all my carry 9mm's as well. Been trying to figure out what to run in the BG 2.0, and Underwood XD looks like one of the best options. Kind of a toss-up between that and Hydra Shok Deep. (Possibly HST )
@@boblaws9851 sounds like we use about the same Carry ammo. Good stuff. I can say the underwood xds ran good in mine. But, I do know of two others personally that it would not cycle reliably. It does run in mine but am seriously thinking about hst. I’ve ran 75 rounds of hst and all have fed too. The two other pistols I was talking about fed hst perfectly also.
@@livennick9 Good info. Yeah, the HST has a fairly round nose, as does the Hydra-Shok. The Hydra-Shok does have a little more of a jagged opening which concerns me slightly. I will carry the BG2 pretty much only in shorts and t-shirt weather, so HST would likely be a good fit. Paul Harrell (R.I.P.) did a .380 HST test a while back though his patented "meat target" with impressive results. If i recall correctly, he fired them through an LCP with a 2.75" barrel as well. Hmmmm.
@@boblaws9851 yah I always loved watching his videos. Old school like original Hickok. I’m same as you on the t shirt shots carry. After that I’ll probably switch to my 43 for pocket carry.
@@boblaws9851 around here though t shirt and shorts normally sick around until mid October early November unfortunately.
@@livennick9 There is a lot of knowledge to be had from some of those guys. Hickok was the video that convinced me to take the plunge on the Bodyguard 2.0. He bought one for himself after getting his test pistol from Bud's. Coming from someone who has shot about every handgun made, and he chose a BG2, and that spoke to me. lol
When the shorts get put away for the season my Shield Plus and MC9 will be my go to. Easy enough to throw on a light cover shirt or jacket. For now my GX4 is my smallest, but it's almost too much for a pocket in some cases. When the heavy jackets come out, my Shield 40 or the 10mm are the flavor of the day.
820 rounds with 100% flawless performance? I find that hard to believe with any gun, especially one with a smaller caliber.
@@User98938 I have absolutely zero reason to lie. About anything really, So I don’t. It’s easier that way. 820 is not many rounds at all to be honest. Even in this pistol. Proper care helps. 9mm is one of the most reliable calibers out there. Since you were referring to small calibers the 380 and 9mm are both .355 caliber projectiles. I’m just giving facts. I’m not trying to sell the pistol. Thanks for watching.
put the light to your side so it doesn’t hurt your eyes long term. good video sir
@@antovega2 thank you
That thing looks like a winner!
@@DrDitchpickle man it really is. It’s the go anywhere ccw
Good review. Right on the 380 mark.
@@glenhar1225 thank you.
Like the fact that you opted for the manual safety! Would have love to hear a little bit more about it! Is it easy to disengage? Easy to engage? Or is it too stiff/small?
@@BillHimmel it’s a positive on positive off and that is great. You don’t want one that is easy or sags on its own. The stippling on the safety itself is excellent. It’s not ultra tiny but just small enough not to be a burden and get in the way or accidentally slip it off or on. To me it’s the way every safety should be. I hope this helps.
@@livennick9 That DOES help! Thx! 😀😀👍😎
It is quite stiff, and like the gun itself, very small. All my handguns are striker fire, so there is zero need for a thumb safety. It may be a pocket pistol, but it had better ALWAYS be in a holster when in your pocket. If it's in a holster, there is no need/advantage to having a thumb safety. If you always practice/train with a thumb safety, no problem. If you don't, I advise against getting the thumb safety model. It's not "easy" to disengage. Similar to the Shield, only smaller and slightly stiffer.
@@boblaws9851 I disagree on the safety part but that’s just me. Yes, always have in a Pocket holster but most pocket pistols don’t have the trigger this one does. To each their own. I have absolutely zero issue with off and on personally. Every draw up with a pistol that has a safety in any of my videos has safety on and coming off in the draw. I been shooting pistols both competitively and other uses for over 25 years and striker fired and hammer fired and have seen a few nd’s happen. No safety = shit can happen. Safety = shit can happen. Up to the user. Some people want more peace of mind.
@@livennick9 Yup, thumb safeties are definitely a personal choice. Until a person has to draw in anger, who knows if you will actually hit the safety. I've never had to do it, and pray that I never do. If I do, all I will have to do is try to aim and squeeze. The only real safety is the person holding the firearm. Not criticizing here, just giving my point of view. 👍
Lively outdoors what type of fiocchi did you shoot? My bodyguard 2.0 has feeding issues with fiocchi training dynamics. The gun shoots all other ammo types 100% but jams only on that. Calipers did show that the fiocchi was a hair longer than the other FMJ so that could have been why but I’m not sure.
@@Barredspark6013 that’s odd. Yes sir it was range dynamics 95gr I believe.
I had the exact issue with my sights on the BG2. Kept shooting left and I thought it was me just sucking. Calipers showed the front sight was off a bit, so I used my sight pusher to get it exactly in the middle. My new 3.6 M&P 2.0 I bought also had the same problem. Somebody at S&W doesn't have micrometer eyes, evidently.
I'm at 370 rounds now, and the last time I took it out, I was banging a 12" steel reliably at 40 yards from a pistol rest after adjusting the sights. I'm not quite good enough with it to get those hits offhand just yet, but that was great for a pocket gun and it does hit at 25 yards reliably offhand now. Hopefully someone offers a different rear sight for it, because I'd prefer a more normal sight picture in the rear, and one that didn't kind of gouge the love handles when carried IWB, lol.
I added a Talon grip to my BG2, which is just what the gun needed. Makes it it a bit more shootable, and keeps the grip texture from occasionally hanging up on the fabric on the inside of my pocket like it did with some of my pants and shorts. I bought a couple of extra mags when they dropped on the Mag Shack last week as well. Should be here Wednesday. Overpriced, but I figured I could use them.
Overall, this the best little gun I think anybody ever made. I'm hoping if S&W offers a 3.0 version of the M&P and Shield in the future, that they'll keep with the high undercut and slight beavertail of the BG2. That high grip just gives so much control.
And by all means ditch the blinding light. Your previous videos were fine. 👍
@@wasatchdan man I’m with you on that rear sight. Not only does it dig but it snags too. I’m not sure what they were really thinking on that. Everything else about it I love. It’s just weird how they have an excellent front sight and crap for a rear. 🤙🏼
@@livennick9 It's made to acquire a fast sight picture up close and personal, which is really what this little jewel is all about. The sights aren't made for 20+ yard shooting, and neither is the gun. It can obviously do it, it just wasn't designed with long distance shooting in mind. Everything is a compromise.
@@boblaws9851 I rather have a more narrow rear sight with a thinner front blade. A lot of room for error on the sight the way it is. Even at 12 yards fast fire.
