Does it handle full power 10mm well?
@@juansgotguns_9079 yes sir it handles it very well. I’ve shot many rounds of 155gr and 180gr underwood through them. I took 2 hogs with the 180gr xtp underwood.
@@livennick9 well I’m going to get one then!
very goog review ,got the 2.0 two weeks ago shot 658 rds same result great carr it everyday
@@jamesmastellone6665 thank you.
VP9 needs 124 gr ammo as a minimum. 115 gr will do what your pistol does. Shield+ works with 115 gr.
@@velvetjones1856 that’s weird. All my other vp9s and usp have all fed everything I’ve ran through them. Maybe the sk was different
@@livennick9 I had problems with 115 gr, called H&K and they said their guns are tuned for 124 gr military ammo. It may work with 115 gr after the recoil spring gets loosened.
Wait?? Is that a fishing video or rod review 😉. How did that rod feel, was ur truly light action? How does it feel fighting smaller fish. Looks like there was a nice bend in the rod and its a true 4-10 pound test rig, just a hair heavier than ultralight. How does it compare to the med version?
@@bill_y4762 yah sorry about that. I always start out wanting to do reviews and then get so in to catching fish I lose track. It’s a true light power bass rod in my opinion. It feels good fighting smaller bass. Little bluegill aren’t much of a fight but that’s why I bout their light power pastime rod. It’s more on the a slight step up from an ultraligh. This light power in the video definitely my choice over the medium for the smaller fish as far as fun. The medium is a bit stiffer than this one. They are all three excellent sensitive rods for sure. I’m going to be focusing more on the fishing side of my videos from here on out doing actual sit down reviews and fishing more than the shooting side. I’ve been slowly trimming down the shooting side to devote more time to what I enjoy the most. Family and fishing. Any more questions just holler bud. Thanks for watching.
@@livennick9 sweet thanks 👍. What do you think as far as trout? Trout need a little softer tip than the average fast action bass set up because their mouths are smaller and hooks rip out pretty easy with smaller baits. However if you’re throwing light spinners you still tend to pick up some bigger fish and I’m not sure about running the ultra light. Crappie are similar… (where a little softer rod is nice in my opinion)
@@bill_y4762 definitely need a softer power rod in my opinion. I love trout fishing. When I use spinning gear on the white river and norfork I use either TFO trout and panfish series of ultralights or lights. Their 7ft light and 8ft light are excellent. Ive caught little 8” stockers up to 7.2 pound browns on them. I will have to say though they just released their new trout and panfish series made in America called the pastime and this spring when we go again I will be bringing my 6’6” ultralight and my 7’ light pastime on that trip. I’ve used the 6’6” ultralight pastime for the last 2 weeks catching bluegill, smallmouth, and largemouth and fell in love with it so much I ordered a 7’ light and am going up the creek this weekend to try it out.
@@livennick9 I’m from Missouri… i used to fish the Norfork and white all the time. Love those 2 rivers

Is the recoil much more than a 27
@@SG-hh9lu it’s more depending on what rounds you choose. Light loads just a tad more. Underwood and actual 10mm loadings it’s more.
@@livennick9 - My wife shoots a 27 with Underwood ammo very well and I was thinking of getting a 29 but she was worried about the recoil
@@SG-hh9lu it’s definitely not unmanageable but is a definite increase. But you get the same projectile going alot faster too.

Bought this pistol 4 days ago, only complaint is the cardboard box. No more nice blue S&W case?? For God’s sake is a performance center firearm boys!!
@@williamsaldanah3554 completely agree on that. I paid $2800 for a Les Baer 1911 hard chromed one time and drove up to pick it up at the shop and found out they send them out in just a plain brown cardboard box too. I don’t use the boxes they come in, the pistols stay in a safe bit it’s the fact of the matter that any pistol over $400 should come with a nice case. lol

Purchased 17L about a week ago cleaned and lubricated it and headed to the range. I used high quality Federal 115g, 124g, and 147g along with Blazer 124g and Magtech 115g. I loaded the 115 Fed and had nothing but misfires, jams and stovetop partial ejections. I switched to the 124g weapon cycled a little better but still the same issues. Finally I utilized the 147g which seemed to cycle the best but not perfectly! I field striped it and lubricated it again firing the Blazer124g and finally Magtech 115g still encountered cycling and extraction issues, but not as numerous. In total I fired about 250 rounds through it. Hopefully this is just a break in issue, but from videos I’ve seen this seems like a pretty common issue with the L. I wish I had watched the videos before I purchase, but that’s water under the bridge now. I will see how it runs when I go back to the range and if I have the same issues I will contact Glock for warranty claim so they can check it out. Lastly my CZ USA CP10-F cycled perfectly one jam/misfire firing 115g and 124g ammunition.

I'm wondering if it's the Ultralight or Light action, what length and how the Vanford balances with that rod? You make great videos!
@@rider79cbx thank you bud. I appreciate that. The one I am fishing is a 6’6” ultralight power fast action. I absolutely love it. As far as the vanford it balanced pretty decent but when I got back that night I switched it out with one of my miravel 1000s and it balances perfect now. I fished with the miravel Friday and Saturday and am going to stick with it on there. It’s amazing what one ounce will do. Thanks for watching man. I’ll have the video from Friday and Saturday up later this week with the miravel on it. To be honest it looks a lot better with it on there too.
Love my 29. I was worried about recoil before getting it. It’s so easy to shoot. I would dare say my Glock 26 is more spicy to shoot. You feel the power with the 10mm for sure, but it’s not bad at all. Favorite gun right now.

Hey: I am researching a S&W 640 Pro, and I came across your shooting video. First, I am impressed with your marksmanship...you shoot both of these revolvers very well. Second, the 357 mag recoil out of the 640 Pro appears to be very manageable. Again, thanks for making this shooting video - good job.
@@RG-ru3ux thank you bud. I appreciate that. The .357 in it is stout but definitely manageable. I wouldnt suggest a 500 round range trip with it but 100-150 round .357 range trip lets you leave knowing you shot a very well made pistol. 38 special even +p is very tame.
I shot mine in a Glock match making a 496 out of 500. I own 3. Dude your rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation. Sand bag it and put it on paper!

Glad to see it feeds the Underwood XD's. I've seen a video or two where the two part feed ramp seems to give some ammo feed issues. I'm a big fan of Underwood. Like you, I carry 155 gr in my XDM Elite 10mm when in urban settings, and 200 gr hardcast when in the hills. 147 gr and 124 gr HST in all my carry 9mm's as well. Been trying to figure out what to run in the BG 2.0, and Underwood XD looks like one of the best options. Kind of a toss-up between that and Hydra Shok Deep. (Possibly HST )
@@boblaws9851 sounds like we use about the same Carry ammo. Good stuff. I can say the underwood xds ran good in mine. But, I do know of two others personally that it would not cycle reliably. It does run in mine but am seriously thinking about hst. I’ve ran 75 rounds of hst and all have fed too. The two other pistols I was talking about fed hst perfectly also.
@@livennick9 Good info. Yeah, the HST has a fairly round nose, as does the Hydra-Shok. The Hydra-Shok does have a little more of a jagged opening which concerns me slightly. I will carry the BG2 pretty much only in shorts and t-shirt weather, so HST would likely be a good fit. Paul Harrell (R.I.P.) did a .380 HST test a while back though his patented "meat target" with impressive results. If i recall correctly, he fired them through an LCP with a 2.75" barrel as well. Hmmmm.
@@boblaws9851 yah I always loved watching his videos. Old school like original Hickok. I’m same as you on the t shirt shots carry. After that I’ll probably switch to my 43 for pocket carry.
@@boblaws9851 around here though t shirt and shorts normally sick around until mid October early November unfortunately.
@@livennick9 There is a lot of knowledge to be had from some of those guys. Hickok was the video that convinced me to take the plunge on the Bodyguard 2.0. He bought one for himself after getting his test pistol from Bud's. Coming from someone who has shot about every handgun made, and he chose a BG2, and that spoke to me. lol When the shorts get put away for the season my Shield Plus and MC9 will be my go to. Easy enough to throw on a light cover shirt or jacket. For now my GX4 is my smallest, but it's almost too much for a pocket in some cases. When the heavy jackets come out, my Shield 40 or the 10mm are the flavor of the day.
I commend you for pulling off a fantastic review on a mattress with a DeWalt light. Now I’m totally convinced that I need one of these damn things. 💸
Man those were some fookin hawg sunfish! Outstanding I almost picked up a vanford but just couldn't justify the price. They do look amazing
@@DrDitchpickle man they really aren’t worth the price except for longevity. I’ve gone through two daiwa fuegos and my first vanford is still like new. But all in all the fuego and vanford feel and look about the same. Shimano just has them beat on drag and gearing. I think best bang for the buck is the fuego.
I totally agree on the Shield 45's. I've got a 3.3 and a 4 inch Shield .45, and they are some of my favorite carry guns. The Shield 45 with a 7 round mag is the same exact height and thickness in the slide as a 1911 with a flush fit mag, so the 4" model comes out to be nearly identical in size to a 1911 Commander, only lighter and thinner through the grip. So easy to carry concealed. And my 3.3" is just a joy to pack around. Perfect for winter carry, even in a coat's big patch pockets for a quick trip to the corner store. Good choices all around. My BG2 is living in my pocket right now and I don't see that changing anytime soon. thanks for doing the work of testing it out so rigorously. Nice to see it can easily handle a thousand rounds with no issues, being such a tiny pistol.
