Thanks a lot for the little trick of moving you fingers. I have found it really difficult to keep the hands warm in this freezing winter in Canada... Keep up the Good Work!
Hi Nimz Diaries, it's all about layered clothing, including a couple of layers of good gloves. Thanks for commenting and hope you stay warm this winter!
Hi John, certainly, hope the video was helpful. It is 88 degrees today where we are in Indiana. Where are you located that you are watching a video about cold weather today?
Pro quebec tip we got many -40 •c here and this will suprise you: dunk your hands in the snow and “wash your hands” with it at first you’ll get that thermal shock and after that your hand will get scorching hot “””Dont do it if you are getting a frostbite”””
Hi. I am a guy who used to live in Puerto Rico. I have moved to Connecticut to work. Right now the cold is hell. In Wyndham the weather is from 1 to 5 farenheit or below. My hand has suffered very much because I am a skinny guy. When I am outdoors I don't have too much time for my hand have the started to hurt a lot with the use of gloves. So thank you for the recommendation of how to stay warm.
Hi Carlos, thanks so much for your comment! Some people are telling us that this technique doesn't work, but it is minus 2 degrees here right now, and we are using the exact method that we talk about to keep our hands from freezing. It is all about having good insulated gloves that are large enough so you can move your fingers around. Also, people need to start the technique as soon as they feel cold fingers, not wait until they are frozen. In addition, your fingers need to be moving around for quite a while, maybe two minutes, so the blood can flow and the hands will be warm. Good luck to you in chilly Connecticut!!!
Hi Pah Tryk, yes, we would conclude that you need to purchase better gloves. Get quality insulated gloves that are just a bit larger than your hand. That way you will be able to use the technique demonstrated in this video where you draw your fingers down to the palm of your hand and move them around until they are warm. Good luck!
@@Housebarons I'll tell you my Columbia with the silver thermal lining are trash. Same with the new Costco ones. Time to upgrade or get large mittens to go over them ;-)
Hey Dominick, Yeah, I saw the forecast - you all must be freaking out - not normal weather for you all ??!!. Thx for watching. Send us some warmer weather when you get some 😃
No need to wear four layers of clothing if u can get yourself a two piece compression suit to wear under your clothes to maintain your body heat. I've learned this military science trick when I go hunting in Minnesota up north past Fergus Fall or Bemidji
Number one rule and my experience and us were in the Marines as carbs. Eat carbs. Give your body the chance to burn calories which will help induce heat in your body. Then trap it with lots of loose layers. Make sure those socks that are doubled up in your boots are not tight which would restrict circulation so you want to wear a larger boots in the winter. My suggestion for us with rare syndrome in our fingertips is to buy compression arm sleeves and bring them up to the palm and you can put a heat packet on the top of your hand and it will stay in place. This also isolates heat loss between your glove and your sleeve cuff. So you're heating up the blood that's flowing into your fingertips.
It all depends how much dexterity one needs. If not much (snowblowing, shoveling, or really wet applications) I like tight fitting wool liners with vinyl or PVC coated outer gloves. Also, I got a pair of military surplus cold weather trigger mittens - wool inner with synthetic and leather outer gauntlets. I have to take these off because I get too warm sometimes! Some tradesmen will use wool liners (don't use cotton!) and then thin latex gloves, covered by regular work glove outer layers. I haven't tried this but I'm told that allows for a little more dexterity. Also, if you have warm socks that get holes in the heels, cut off the foot and use the calf areas as wrist/arm gaiters. This is also great for kids to keep snow off their wrists. These are especially good with functional stretchy cuffs at the wrist. Wisconsin born & bred. I'm familiar with cold but I know my cold is nothing compared to Canada cold! 👍 Take care out there!
@@Housebarons Thank you for the video and the compliment. It's just the result of years of experimenting with all sorts of bad combinations resulting in cold, wet hands! I wish I could remember where I saw it, but somewhere a comment said: "I have a doctorate from MIT - mistakes I've tried". 👍
I’m in my 66th year here in the frozen north. At one point my right hand got a little frostbite. Now it gets cold real easy. When I need to I can flip the end back and my fingertips are exposed. Then as soon as I can I flip the end back down. When I am outside and don’t have to use my fingers plain old mittens are vastly warmer than gloves. Not too stylish but effective.

Unless we make the rapture! However, the proverbial brighter light or path will glare garishly while blinding the correct path to redress COVID derivatives.
If your hands and feet are cold use hot water:)
Hi The Fancy Tea Cup, once you are in for the day, you could use warm water for your hands and feet, but we have read that hot water is not recommended because you might not realize how hot it is, which could result in burns. Thanks for your comment!
