I think it would be a good thing if the league was less competitive, the too six could stop new owners turning teams around to further reduce the competition they face, all but the too six just being pointless filler in the league for ever. I also think charging £15 a game on TV is good, I've always said I wish the top clubs were richer, while fans were worse off, every time I watch a game I go to the bank, take money out and give it to someone rich, why? Because I'm a true fan and that's the only way to show it.
There are advantages to this proposal, but the main disadvantage is the power it gives to the big 6, especially over the Premier League who is supposed to be the governing body. If the proposals are voted through as is, then the Premier League board might as well resign, as they would be hamstrung by the big clubs. More discussions on the voting system need to be held

The vote system, shouldn't be touched at all, the current structure is pretty good, and gives power to teams otherwise big 6 teams would be untouchables, they could just share the revenues among themselves and because of the proposed system, no team outside big 6 will be able to do anything. Lending help to EFL is pretty good, totally support that, but the vote system should be left as it is.
As a US fan, I hope this does not go through, I don’t want to see football follow the franchise system that we have here... it’s fine just the way it is
What about the extra two league 2 teams that basically get expelled form the league for this plan to go ahead? They can still offer the £250mill and get repaid exactly the same way just over a longer period but they won't do that because they want the control.
I'm all for helping the EFL and I agree with the financial aspect of the proposals but the the proposed new voting system was the biggest insult. How can 6 clubs at minimum speak for 20 or 18 clubs? 5. The only other things not mentioned, transfer windows should match Europe's elite again and a winter break at the same time as them would also make sense to compete more evenly in the UEFA competitions.
6. Oh and no clubs should have power over who takes charge at another club either, otherwise no city type stories again, and while some will be ok with that, well it's a load of bollocks, if a high paying owner comes in and buys a club that should be possible without the big 6 getting there underwear twisted
Pros are really good but the cons are NEVER EVER worth it
Manchester City: Financial Fair Play stops clubs breaking into the top of the game. It's not fair.
Manchester City: Hey this new system that give us more voting rights than other teams sounds great! YOINK UP GOES THAT LADDER.
It wasnt just just city support this so was liverpool ,man united etc
@@Wonderworld455 I’m fully aware. I’m disgusted by all of them thinking that the suffering of lower league clubs is their opportunity.
All I was saying is how ironic it is that City’s owners are so happy to pull up the ladder after complaining that they weren’t allowed to use it.
@@leodb3894 while i get that why just call out city your making it look almost as if there the driving force behind this while it man united and liverpool the ones that are pushing this garbage
@@Wonderworld455 Don't be insecure. It's a reference to city being two-faced when it turned out that they could be the thing they claimed they were pushing against. It's relevant because they literally recently went against an entire governing body of football saying how unfair FFP is.
I'm sorry I don't have time to explain how every club is acting like pieces of shit when everyone can already see that...
Why Man City is bigger than Aston Villa?
I am against this change.
So basically it’s just a power grab for the big teams
We will go from a competitive league to a more of a farmers league, it's a power grab and I dont like it
I mean its already just as corrupt as this now, they just mask it better. Any fan that’s been watching all their life will be able to tell you that
Jose Mourinho is in the video when joe says "Controversy" 😂😂😂
Why the hell are they still paying these footballers so much and then can’t understand why they are losing so much money, stop paying them over the top wages
I don't like this one bit
Joe hiding the United logo behind the guy in the thumbnail to make Liverpool worse than United
Against it. All of these ridiculous ideas & proposals should be tossed into the bin. A total waste of time & things should be kept as they are.
The system is broken the way it is now. The only thing in this proposal that should be disregarded is the big 9 voting thing
Pathetic idea
It's actually quite smart what they're doing..It's quite clear that the EFL needs a large cash injection and by offering £350m it's a very nice incentive to take eyes away from the REAL oblective..I'm a Liverpool fan but i do not want to see the Premier League under the control of 9 clubs..The future ramifications would not be good for English football
Well said
This can't be
It Will ruin the PL
Having 20 teams in pl means more games to be played than having 18 teams. Hence more fun watching the big league
Popular or unpopular opinion?
Less teams would mean more money for the ones in the league. More money for transfers, wages, etc.
It’s simple. Don’t ANYBODY pay it and they don’t have a product. It’s the thin end of the wedge. Stop it NOW!
I see so they're making another Bundesliga
Or even worse, NBA and MLS
This is how football starts moving towards F1 where the teams (and certain teams) gather so much influence that it stagnates they sport.
Is it all or nothing in this project, either everything passes or nothing? Because there are some very good changes in there, but also some really damaging ones. Why not take each change and judge it on it's own?
the only plus is a reduction in games that would give a greater chance of premier clubs competing better in europe and also international if the proposal is granted then add that each team have to have a minimum of 5 english players in their squad and that a wage cap is introduced and agents fees are capped also
Big fan of this strand, guys! Incisive and meticulous analysis, very well done.
The support for the EFL is very good. On the other hand, I mean, if it's not broken than don't fix it.
Sarcasm??
it’s a shame cuz it will probably happen as the big 9 would love the power
Nah, it wont.
You think the government is gonna let all the money get out of their hands? Lmao.
This will never happen.
I think the EFL teams need support but idk if this is the right way to do it... I don't trust the big 6
This would literally ruin competition in the prem
There are advantages to this proposal, but the main disadvantage is the power it gives to the big 6, especially over the Premier League who is supposed to be the governing body. If the proposals are voted through as is, then the Premier League board might as well resign, as they would be hamstrung by the big clubs. More discussions on the voting system need to be held
I don’t understand why they are classed as “Top 6” and get given priority over “smaller” clubs just because they have a richer owner and are able to spend more money than those teams in the lower half of the table and even in lower leagues.
Money is the biggest dividing factor in all walks off life.
@@davewalker3873 just sad to see it is no longer the beautiful game but has been turned into the bank account balance game by the hierarchy of football and moved away from being the working mans game
@@1KHC yeah football is fast becoming to much. This 15 quid a game bollox aswell is robbery.
The longest serving clubs? In what sense? How does City, Everton and United get in over Villa? What is the longest serving based on? Surely it can't be top flight seasons either? Am I missing something? Also it would only take 6 of 9 to write laws for the PL? Six? Funny number that... Convenient. This will turn a lot of fans against the PL. Hopefully this completely drains them of money in the future.
Villla were in werent they?? Everton are one of the oldest clubs in world football and were instrumental in establishing englands first proper league.
@@davewalker3873 Nah Villa aren't in, it's the top 6 then Everton, West Ham and Southampton. I meant in terms of service and longevity though, Villa have been around longer than West Ham, Everton and Southampton?
@@brosephmcbrosephson2626 maybe the others but surely not everton, again oldest club going. I dont get it, obv its a corrupt proposal.
I’m completely clueless on this. Is this official and if so when does take place?
It's a proposal.
great video, thank you for clearing it out for us! in my opinion, it shouldn't go ahead, but the FA should try and help/support the EFL teams currently not doing so well
Horrible idea
Just wondering how many people have seen any FA spending on grassroots football? I've always heard about money being pumped into it, but I've never personally seen the benefits of it. Anybody else got any examples of funding having an impact on their grassroots game?
Man is Joel Glazer the weirdest alien going
lmao
The vote system, shouldn't be touched at all, the current structure is pretty good, and gives power to teams otherwise big 6 teams would be untouchables, they could just share the revenues among themselves and because of the proposed system, no team outside big 6 will be able to do anything.
Lending help to EFL is pretty good, totally support that, but the vote system should be left as it is.
Agreed. Help the smaller clubs, dont change anything else.
As a US fan, I hope this does not go through, I don’t want to see football follow the franchise system that we have here... it’s fine just the way it is
Literally everything except the voting change sounds fine especially scrapping the EFL cup
Don't forget about medium size men #mediumLivesMatter 😂😂
it good for football in overall.. and i hope.. there will be new cup play between winners of fa cup and efl cup..
Does it get rid of VAR?
9 of the longest founded clubs?? So where Aston Villa they virtually created the premiere league!
No wonder why it is called "Big Picture" since it sounds like a big picture for big clubs to dominate the league.
What about the extra two league 2 teams that basically get expelled form the league for this plan to go ahead? They can still offer the £250mill and get repaid exactly the same way just over a longer period but they won't do that because they want the control.
This is complete insanity that this is even a real proposal
Without billionaire owners Chelsea and man city wouldn’t even be part of the the 9
So helps the small teams in the short team and big teams in the long term?
It also helps the big teams in the short term.
FSG out is really feeling good rn. As a fan of just football it’s ridiculous. We like the competition
Can someone explain why Newcastle and Aston Villa are not considered ‘longest serving clubs’ ... AV - 26/29 PL seasons...
I'm all for helping the EFL and I agree with the financial aspect of the proposals but the the proposed new voting system was the biggest insult. How can 6 clubs at minimum speak for 20 or 18 clubs? And what on Earth would the be the point in hosting a mini summer tournament just before the season starts?
I’m on board with everything but the Big 9 aspect. Not fair. A total power grab.
