@@tipcentric lol I totally baby my one brush too, it was 30.00 and I do use only it, your brush here kind of looks like it, I can't afford to buy them like that- so I do appreciate this video....just in case😄
@@margaretmestas1481 this brush was only £4 I think. I’m just a cheapskate and refuse to spend money on something when I can save the one I have, and I really like this brush, I used it the other day and it still gives a really smooth finish, possibly even smoother than when I first bought it now I’ve bashed it so much! 😀👍
I discovered overnight soaking the hard dried paint brush into 50% hand sanitizer,25% dish soap and 25% hot water works like magic. My paint brush was used for painting Rustoleum touch protector enamel paint-so it was dried like concrete.
As a result, the hairs on the brush break off and the brush becomes thinner and thinner. Since these are watercolors, the brush is very easy to clean when the paint is still wet. It doesn't happen to any painter that the brush looks like this.
I try my hardest to answer every single comment, even the negative ones! It gets a bit hard sometimes but I always catch up eventually! 👍👍 I’m uk too 🇬🇧👍👍
That'll work on some paint, not oil based though. After cleaning them, soak it with fabric softener or hair conditioner if real horse hair brushes so bristles stay soft and flexible. 👍
This one was about £4 so not a super expensive one. I used it for some decorating a couple of days ago, worked great. Nice smooth finish. And I remembered to clean it out this time! 👍👍😀
Yo las dejo remojadas en agua en dado caso de que se me olvide lavarlas, no es algo que perjudique la brocha? Si es asi, usare esta tecnica pero tengo la duda.
I discovered this with acrylic paint. It is made from glue and dried pigment. The hot water dissolves the glue. I still like to brush the brush with a wire brush.
There’s something called The Masters Brush Cleaner. I have used it to rescue a bunch of dried up brushes covered in acrylic paint. It’s magic honestly.
This brush cost about £5, this whole process, without filming, would take about 5 minutes. If I went to buy a new brush, it would cost £5, plus fuel, and around an hour of time to get there and back. So I’d say the saving was worth it…
When you calculate drive time, plus getting cleaned up so you don't smell like a bus seat at Home Depot...not to mention gas and dealing with traffic (I'm in Miami, armpit of the universe)...it just might be worth it. Especially if it's your favorite brush. Or what if Home Depot doesn't have what you need? I don't know how many times I've redesigned an entire project in the aisles of Home Depot based on what they happen to have available that day. Ya never know!
It’s about taking pride in YOUR things and caring for what you own. It doesn’t matter how much a new one cost… why toss a perfectly good brush for no reason? Folks are so lazy. No one should be weighing their time like that man. You should have what you need regardless to earn your living and in your off time take care and prepare your tools for further success.
I was doing this in my garage. Then my mom walked in then saw me then went back inside. Later on my mom asked why I was doing that. Then I told her after she said she thought someone was breaking in😭😭
Was that just water? Thank you for sharing... I have some with linseed oil I have to clean now... but I need something stronger than water for rinsing, I would suppose.
If you struggle with this a lot, like use lots of brushes and hardening medium. Get a small ultrasound cleanser. Just sip the brush brisles in. Itll break down even most solvent based things, although not all.
@@tipcentric There's several fur Stroh's. The ones you wanna look up are the ones where the UFO shows up and steals their beer outta the fridge, and the old men sitting on the porch say "All that way for a Stroh's." And his buddy says "Don't surprise me none."🤣🤣
Quickly drying paint is pretty simple, just use a standard household fan, preferably one that oscillates back and forth instead of focusing on just one spot. Or if it's a warm day with a breeze, leave windows open and let the warm breeze dry the paint. It shouldn't take more than an hour or two for the paint to dry unless you slop it on too thick. As for art type painting, the same thing would probably work, but I'm not painting artist, just a carpenter and drywall hanger so I know a little about painting interior and exteriors for residential homes.
Been doing this for years but now I just store brushes.. Put lots of paint on them then places them. In corner of sandwich bag, squees out all air and they will never dry up. Have used brushes and rollers stored in this way five years later. Mind you with emotion paint they can get to stink to high heaven and need flushing out before use
Don't..get new brush..water based goes to powder...oil based does not ..anyway if you use water based ...gloss .undercoat ..primer..emulsion ..you must have tap close to hand...

Damn brother, same thing happened to me! Give her a couple days before you ask for a sando or else it’ll be all jacked up.
Get new one, a better one!
Always put your brush or roller in a plastic bag after use, keeps reusable for weeks without rinsing
That’s what I did with this one… but then I forgot about it for over a year lol.
That works for acrylic paint ,enamel will still be good if brush left in jar of water
