If they got raided while you were there, great chance to use the "What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?"
Or out day window doing a runner 😂
I see you know your judo really well.
"get your hands off my penis!!!"
"Ahhh and you sir...… Are you waiting to receive my limp penis"
Would be funny for him to say "Get your hand off my penis!"
Portugal - decriminalise drugs, criminalise fried rice
I know right haha. More worried about the uninspected kitchens than the heroin.
Just don't do the heroin...stick to the weed and pingers bruv..
to be fair, the rice was full 💩💩
@@AwesomeFish12 seems you dont know nothing about the shit you are talking, sad lol
We love rice here were the biggest consumer of rice in Europe 😅
As someone who watches loads of food reviews on YT (the weirder the better), you have no idea how refreshing it is for one of you to finally call out a shitty meal for being a shitty meal. So sick to death of every single reviewer saying that everything they put in their mouth is amazing because they are afraid it will affect their views if they don't. This is how it's done.
Bro watch peaks if you want real reactions
Wait does someone actually do that? lol. I certainly dont.
@@rainbowhorse735sometimes reviewers do this because they get free food or something because i've seen many shit places where people say it's good when people who actually went say they got diarrhea or smt
Bro i saw him and i thoight he was benzema
you should watch peaks then lol
Portuguese here.
There are a few of these clandestine chinese places that will only open the downstairs door, after having a look from top floor.
For the first one you just came to early and didnt ring the bell.
Also, the 'famous' one is legal.
Bro, I've been looking for someone who produces this content for so long. Watching you explore is a meditative experience.
it is legit meditative haah
@@bigmurkyofficial nah he's just stoned
I bet Spanian has never heard himself being attached to the word meditative.. but I absolutely agree. His content (and whole journey) is so awesome 🤍
You do know about " Bald and Bankrupt", right?
watch bald and bankrupt
I'm portuguese and I've been to these chinese restaurants before, at the time, they served really nice food and they're really open minded and generally nice. I remember smoking blunts inside the actual restaurant when they were about to close, good times
Portugal is shuch a shit place and the hash u have there sucks.
After dinner mint 👌
I smoked weed in my local Chinese here in Sydney with the owner and a bunch of my mates around the lazy Susan after a mad feed haha
They og’s
Wow your all so cool smoking after a meal😂 kids these days
It's really cool to see this. Restaurant apartments became normal in NYC during the pandemic. You couldn't eat inside, but cooks started selling their food from their apartments to get by, even better if they had a 1st floor apartment they could just pass the food out the window.
thats really interesting, i didnt know that was a thing!
im sure those are $5000 per conviction. some dude in chicago make his living primarily off of calling the cops; the moment he sees a vehicle with blacks in it. seems to work.
Interesting... Here in Brazil and I assume the rest of Latin America as well it's pretty common to have people turning their houses into delivery restaurants, as long as it doesn't disturb the neighbors it's totally fine and there's no law prohibiting it.
Aahahhahahaahha
You can have a home kitchen but you need a certification over here
Love your RUclips channel, I live in Lisbon and I’ve checked those illegal Chinese restaurants and I think the last one you visited is not illegal it’s a tourist trap and yes the food was terrible when I visited too.
I had the same thoughts about the last restaurant as well.
Yes looked like it is just a name a clever one if the illegal ones are popular with tourists.
where can i find actual illegal ones? travelling to lisbon in a few weeks!
There are local Portuguese working in these restaurants because illegal pay is better than no pay. If you think of it this way, you should be thankful that there are employers helping out the locals in need.
Are you legal Coke Zero, did you come here legally !!! HAAHAHHAH had me dying 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Hahahahaha this had me in stitches as well 😂😂
this my first video ive watched of this guy but it was funny

It’s crazy cause my ex girlfriend actually took me to one of these illegal Chinese restaurants in Lisbon like 10 years ago! Brings me fond memories. And I ended up traveling to China and living there for 5 years😂
wow...chinese foods so good that you move straight to China!!

We all grew up watching Neighbours and there's something so comforting hearing an authentic Aussie accent. Adding "It's full poo-land" to my database of Australian adjectives. GOD bless this man!
Lad not Land!
That’s a Sydney accent the rest of aus don’t have that from my experience haha
I just love your commentary and personality, full hood version food reviews hahaha! you rock brudda!!!
I like that how he makes sure the coke has no sugar but order a fried ice cream 😅

Hi Spanian!
Your videos are so nice to watch. They're a great mix of music, commentary, comedy and scenery. Very relaxing and entertaining! Please keep up the good work mate 👍
That restaurant looked sketchy af. It felt like the beginning of a horror movie. You're a brave man!

What a snowflake, almost every 3th bar look like that in easter europe
The housing problems are huge in Lisbon.
From what I’ve heard: A few years ago, the Chinese started coming in to invest in real estate in exchange for ‘Golden visas’. The buildings they bought are left to sh*t, unliveable, and will only, at some point be sold once 5x’ed I reckon. Therefore not much new housing is being offered. The government really f’ed the locals over with that. Rents are sky high.
Yeah
Bless bro love these videos so much xx
Wait a minute, I used to go to that first restaurant but back in the day the owners were Africans and so was the food. They made an awesome "cachupa". There was always a crazy guy at the door that welcomed clients. I'm sure that many people recognize the place, I just can't remember how we used to call it. We would have "diner" at like 5am after leaving Alcantara Mar (best disco ever).
Makes me feel like I'm there! Love watching you enjoy these places.
hectik brahs ! loving the content ! LETS OGG!
Love this channel !!!
Best chinese and Indian food I've ever had was in Portugal. You have to look for fusion restaurants. Portuguese inspired Chinese and Indian. Goan restaurants (for Indian) and Macanese (for Chinese)
Goan and macanese cuisine
I'm an Australian born who's half Chinese Timorese and have had family born in all sorts of Portuguese speaking places such as Macau, Brazil, East Timor, Mozambique and including Portugal aswell of course for the past few centuries. I've been to Lisboa during 2017 when I was 14yrs old to visit the rest of my family as we've had a family reunion gathering and haven't met with the cousins until that time and I'm really surprised I've never heard of or went to one of these places at all. This has been an eye-opening experience to say the least, it's pretty sus to be eating at a "restaurant" in a literal apartment lol, but the food actually looks pretty good although I wouldn't really trust it to be honest (still most likely healthier than McDonalds or KFC though).
thats sick bro
Why wouldn't you trust those restaurants??? Think about it : if the customer get sick they literally get evinced if they call the police on them, right? I mean... I've worked at "nice" restaurants which would make you puke out their food if you knew wtf what going down in that kitchen. I've been to super clean tiny restaurants serving out of an appartment's kitchen.
I'd love to see your DNA test as it might be printed on several pages!
On kfc and mac there are sanitary rules
@@jas_bataille I don't know, I guess that since restaurants usually have a set standard for Food and Health regulations, they're expected to follow and undergo rigerous inspections, etc whereas you're not aware of apartment restaurant kitchens. I agree though with the latter half, my brother was a chef at multiple restaurants and there were many disgusting stuff going on behind the scenes too.
I have been to an illegal pakistani restaurant in Lisbon. There are no menus and you simply order "food for 1" or "food for two". They did not sell alcohol but you were welcomed to bring your own. Food was not fancy but was really simple homemade and good. The price was inviting.
We have illegal Pakistani/Indian places in Germany too. Same as you describe, no menus, usually in the back of indian food stores, you either order 'food' at the store till or one of several standard 'light bites (chaat, panipuri, samosa, sometimes bhaji or pakora too), then they show you into a back room and serve up the food within a couple of minutes. Often no actual tables, just stools with a bar style shelf to eat from that goes around the room.
yo, lemmie know where it is
Only come across this channel today, enjoying the content I've watched this and the Scampia video. Looking forward to watching further adventures
Wow !! Great video, and amazing topic.. soooo coool
Believe it or not these restaurants existed in Sydney in early 90's .The one I went to was operating I recon in a condemned building in south China town, but no joke the food was da full gun.
The only one's I knew about were at Cabramatta, but they just sold caps of coke and gear! 😂

Hey spanian we love your videos we just spent the last few weeks watching all of them very interesting 🤙
Fresh spanian drops are becoming the highlight of my week 💥
The tuc tuc driver is spot on with that info, that is pretty much one of the reason the housing market is bonkers, talk about it with the locals of the streets you visited and they will inform you first hand, about the chineese restaurants it is like playing russian roulette, in the worst case you will be a week clinging to your stomach and your body will remind you every time you even dare to think about going to one again :D
ya vinha comentar isso
ja nao existem visas gold para lisboa e porto ha 2 anos
The market is bonkers all over the world. Study more and try not to blame your smol brain on foreigners.
@@user-qh6vz6cx8n wrong, the whole world isn’t like lisbon lmao maybe some parte but not the whole world, u clearly have no idea how shit the real estate market is on lisbon right now
@@joaoruxa Correct! Golden visas are no more.
Thank you for this video and experience, it was like hanging out with you, or like being the disembodied collective soul hanging out with you enjoying all vicarious dimensions to the experience 😂I'm curious about the first place now, that was apparently closed. Last place "Clandestino" was very-much approaching regular restaurant vibes and accessibility like you said. The second place, or first you actually found, active and operating, was like a beautiful spiritual arrangement and artwork! The whole pathway there, and internal aesthetic, including the view out the window into the alleyway, was very unusual and special. Also the staff seemed very genuine and forthcoming in a comfortable and welcoming way. The food apparently being decent also, and someone's earnest attempt/creation. Illegal restaurant ⚡⚡just liberated from the shackles of Babylon, just relieved of a few taxes and regulatory hurdles. I could do with fewer or no hurdles myself. We all could. 💖💚
Love this guy. Fast becoming one of my favourite RUclipsrs . Watching your from the UK 🇬🇧 ❤
I think that was quite expensive actually, you pay similar plices on legal restaurants

Best episode yet hahahaha. Thank you bro.
If the law of the worse a Chinese restaurant looks the better it tastes, these places must be michelin starred
if they can make gutter oil edible they can make anything

As a Lisboner, I can tell that the last one is not ''illegal''. It was better in the past, now it is just another chinese restaurant in Lisbon. The first one is one i've never been at and will be definitely visiting thanks to you.
Props my man. Keep that up!
You got some cool content bro respect 🙏 good on you
Only just started to watch your content and this was a fun video to watch. Cheers from Darwin.
I'm portuguese and it's quite normal this restaurants and they have amazing food, if you want you can bring your own wine that you can buy in any supermarket, also very cheap white wine and red wine if its portuguese its good, you just need to ask for glass's. Also you can smoke blunts without any problem.
In Italy, the old-school Chinese restaurants (which didn't convert into fake sushi spots) actually charge half-price than this one. I like the interior of this place, though...
Love the vid!
Just found your channel and I am loving your travel vlogs.
Bless the Chinese for putting pictures of the food in their menus. 😂

Last one was a trap "tourist shit".
at 22:00, that fried rice looks like what my mum would cook after a big night at the pub and me and my brothers winging about food when she gets home.
Just discovered this guy. Great personality. Love it. Subscribed 👍

My parents were Chinese restauraunt owners. It could be that the pooey one you went to has more authentic dishes (seeing as you said people were having food you never saw before) but also a set of more Western style dishes that is more of an afterthought and less good. I can guess which menu your fried rice and sweet/sour prawns falls under hehe. If you're feeling adventurous, next time you can ask for recommendations for a more authentic chinese meal.
that's what I thought about. The meal he ordered is only for Western ppl who never tried authentic Chinese food. If he is open-minded he can kindly ask for recommendations. But not to blame an Aussie who only knows fish and chips too much. lol
I’ve been to China and compared it to the ones in Aus and Nz they all taste the same expect of course China having a better flavour but they’re very similar
Greetings. i am going to lisbon soon and would love for you to recomend me some authentic, non western, chinese dishes to order :) maybe you can write them in chinese and i can copy paste! Thanks in advance!
@@andrealcantara3712 Thanks for your interest! Unfortunately not so easy without knowing what's available first, because within China there are so many different cuisines! And restaurants worth going to will only specialise in one or two types. Furthermore, I mainly know about Cantonese food, so I can recommend some to you. I don't know how easy Cantonese restaurants are to find in Lisbon, but I would recommend going to a well regarded Dim Sum place if possible. Traditionally it's a lunch/brunch affair, but dim sum for dinner is not too unusual. Dim sum are a variety of small dishes of your choice, similar to the way you would have Spanish tapas. There are often dozens to choose from, so you can already try lots of different things in this style. Classic dim sum dishes are siu mai (pork), ha gau (prawn/pork), lo mai gai (chicken/pork wrapped in sticky rice), lo bak go (turnip cake), cheung fun (rice roll, with different choice of fillings). Since turning pescetarian 16 years ago, there's a lot I miss. Lo mai gai especially, since it was a favourite of mine, and I've never seen a vegetarian version in restarurants. It's also pretty difficult to make at home, requiring the experienced craftwork of a skilled Chinese paw paw (granny).

Yea the thing about residence in Portugal is called I believe "Vistos Gold" or "Golden Visas" and is an actual thing in Portugal, since now they just jacked up the taxes a lot so the guys who took advantage of that are now paying lots of taxes due to the housing prices going up as well
